The hotel has a wonderful old English charm about it and the location is great. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming, housekeeping responded very quickly to requests for extra blankets and room service came promptly.

The furniture needs updating. Many of the seats of the chairs and sofas have worn springs and cushioning so when you sit, you almost fall through and feel like you are sitting in a hole. The breakfast was also extremely disappointing. The selection is poor and by 9am there were no eggs, no toast, no pastries and no orange juice. We had to ask twice for the food to be replenished. The scrambled eggs looked like a runny mess, the baked beans were mushy and eggs to order took ages (I had finished my breakfast by the time my husband’s poached eggs came). It was not what one would expect from a hotel of this standard.

The location is amazing and I particularly liked the Christmas vibe in July, winter time. The lounge is super cozy and it feels like home.

The lack of attention to some details like for example stains on the sofa in the lounge, not receiving any menu while sitting there for quite a while, getting a table for breakfast with still breadcrumbs from the previous people. I guess I have been spoiled by Asian 5 stars hotels but it is really a pity that the spa is closed at 5pm. You would like to enjoy some relaxing time and massage after hiking all day but instead you have to choose between hiking and having a massage. Also need to book in advance and been trying to reach out the spa for 2 days without any luck.

Location

The double deckers tour bus went past our window looking in. The corner of the shower recedes at the floor joint was pretty dirty??? People with unruly children and the laziness of some other guests for example around the pool. Not your fault

Everything was brilliant apart from the time it took to get the tea and coffee at breakfast. Room was lovely (and huge) the ambiance was very refined and relaxed, the food in the lounge was exceptional.

It took over 20 minutes on each of the 3 days we were there between ordering the hot drinks at breakfast and them arriving at our table (by which time we had pretty much finished our food) We were not the only customers having this problem - on all 3 days I heard other customers enquiring about when their drinks were going to turn up. Obviously a systemic problem, and not one I would expect from an establishment as well run as Lilianfels.

Really good breakfast. Accessible room was super convenient for my parents. Beautiful hotel so close to the three sisters viewing point. Easily one of the best locations to stay in Blue Mountains. Staff was amazingly helpful at the breakfast. Kudos to Anusha who attended to all out needs at the breakfast with our toddler. Staff at the reception was so welcoming as well. Few of these staff is why I can not rate this hotel any less than 5 stars.

While some staff was absolutely awesome, there was a staff person (lady) at dinner lounge who emitted cold vibes. It's good if all staff are trained to smile and be kind to the guests. On Monday night, when we just asked about next day's breakfast, she started talking about her standards in coffee etc which kind of made no sense to us. Talking about smiles, same goes to the gentleman who was seated at the front entrance early in the morning. It will be great to hear a cheerful good morning from the staff early in the morning in your hotel rather than attitude.

We loved the location and our Executive Suite room with a fabulous view of the Jamison Valley! One member of our party also had a very well appointed accessible room on the ground floor. The indoor swimming pool was great, while the decor thoroughly reflected a cosy, English style, good for winter in the mountains.

In some ways it was rather dated for the modern traveller. The Wifi in the room was very patchy, the plug sockets were hard to access and the lights difficult to figure out (controlled by a switch on the wall and a switch on a cord). The view from our room was great but some of our party reported that their view was blocked by rooftops. The service at the restaurant was disappointing, while the menu was more typical of a room service menu than the fine dining experience we were expecting.

The location next to Echo Point was very good. Our room had a fabulous view over the roof tops to the Jamison Valley. Staff were generally pleasant and helpful. Parking was free and sufficient. Lovely indoor swimming pool - and outdoor too, though the season was not right to try that one. The vintage decor was very cosy and pleasant. Breakfast was also pleasant, while the make your own juice device was a real hit!

I know the view was very obscured by other roof tops from some of the other rooms. It was probably less of a direct view that people had expected and was obscured by the trees in the living room. The evening meal was disappointing - rather like a room service menu, while the service at table was slow and not at all charming. Better to eat elsewhere, other than for breakfast, which was fine.

The room was comfortable, quiet, and spacious, with a classic design that added a touch of charm. The bathroom was well-equipped with both a bathtub and a shower. We stayed for a couple of nights just before the school holidays, so we had the chance to enjoy all the facilities such as swimming pools and a pool table without the crowds. The building itself is beautiful and elegant, surrounded by lush gardens, and located in a peaceful area—yet still very close to the main tourist attractions and walking routes. It struck a perfect balance between tranquility and convenience. The staff were exceptionally polite and always helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The buffet breakfast offered a good variety of options, including hot dishes, cereals, fresh vegetables and fruits, pastries, and even a juicer for fresh juice. A great start to each day!

The location was fantastic. Within walking distance to the Three Sisters and Echo Point. Property was exceptionally well maintained and clean. We loved our room with a separate lounge area which we used a lot. Great size bathroom. Shower was great. My husband loved the outdoor heated pool. Great reading places. Breakfast was lovely. Good selection of breakfast items. I especially loved the pastries and we both loved the homemade granola. We had dinner on Saturday night in the Lounge which was delicious. A great get away to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

The pillows were too soft.

The location of the hotel is perfect for easy access to the Echo Point view point overlooking the spectacular blue mountains, which can also be enjoyed from the hotel lounge and many of the rooms. My room was extremely spacious and comfortable, clean, airy and beautifully decorated and furnished. I enjoyed a lovely meal and a cocktail which was efficiently delivered to my room and the empty tray collected upon request. The bathroom was clean and well equipped with luxurious bathroom essentials, a shower and a lovely bath to soak the aches of the day away after climbing up and down the various, easily accessible board walks to see the falls and ravines and enjoy a little retail therapy in the well stocked local gift shops, bars and eateries. The journey by train from to Katoomba was comfortable and straight forward and the 10 minutes bus journey stops right outside the hotel entrance. I treated myself to a very thorough and relaxing massage and facial after using at the hotel spa facilities, where Karina was my therapist and is strongly recommended. I can't speak highly enough of the Lilianfels Hotel and Spa and all it has to offer.
