Everything about the property is lovely except we were disappointed as returning customers (for the fifth time!) that our room overlooked a fence I realise we got an excellent rate but the property wasn't full to capacity so a better outlook for returning customers would have been appreciated.

Lovely area for a few nights away on the Corlette Marina. Fantastic breakfast buffet with everything you can imagine. Staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Rooms are comfy and ours had a couch and opened out to the marina side to admire the view. Dined at Restaurant a few times and had the lamb shoulder share dish for two with potatoes and beans.....and the most delicious jus. A must try....would return just to have that meal again.

Due to rainy days you couldn't sit outside as table and chairs not sheltered from the elements and no privacy screen between rooms. One side of the bed (split mattress) needs replacing, had to use the spare single for a good night's sleep. (Room #301)

Everything about The Anchorage is simply stunning — from the genuinely warm and welcoming staff to the sumptuous food and its own captivating views, no matter the weather. The Galley Kitchen is hands down one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in the area (and we managed to try quite a few!). Be sure to try the braised pork belly, prawn linguine, and tempura broccolini — all absolute standouts. I only wish I had ordered more of the cheesecake for dessert! We stayed in the Captain Suites Room, which was perfect for a small family. It felt almost like a two-bedroom setup, with the living area cleverly transformed into a cosy sleeping space using the sofa bed. Our wraparound balcony offered a beautiful beach view. While I didn’t quite agree with the pillow choices, I can appreciate it was part of the overall aesthetic they were going for.

The room was outstanding, the service excellent, and the facilities exceptional. From the moment we arrived and were warmly welcomed by the polished, gracious staff with a glass of delicious, chilled sparkling wine, our stay was of the highest quality. The lounge and bar area adjacent to the main reception, offering beautiful views over the marina and beyond, were immaculate and very comfortable. Our room was well appointed, with an excellent, spacious bathroom and seating areas. The terrace overlooked the marina, and everything felt luxurious. We ate dinner and breakfast in the Kitchen Galley restaurant,both of which were excellent. On departure, which was seamless, the reception staff were warm and charming. The whole visit, from start to finish, was faultless, and our only disappointment was that we were unaware beforehand about what a quality establishment this is. We could have booked a longer stay!

Purely a suggestion for management: no matter where I sat by either pool, people continuously listened to their phone (conversations, FaceTime or videos) on speaker phone. Incredibly frustrating when you have a few precious days away to have to put up with other people’s inconsiderate ways. Would suggest signage put up around lounge and pool area prohibiting use of phone calls and speaker based activities (ie music, videos, FaceTime) for the consideration of others around them. I couldn’t relax at all and people just seem oblivious!

We love the Anchorage. It’s a very relaxing and luxurious venue. Even at peak times the resort doesn’t feel crowded. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and beautiful. Loved the special little extras like the champagne welcome drink on arrival and the barrister coffee at breakfast. The breakfast is amazing - one of the best I have ever experienced. My only very small criticism is that when using the bath you can’t easily access the body wash and shampoo / conditioner as these products are attached to the wall of the shower. When I previously stayed at the Anchorage the rooms had individual Molten Brown products which I loved. I do however understand that it’s a sustainability necessity to reduce waste and hence the individual products are no longer supplied.

Loved everything.

The breakfast was great, especially having the chef cook your eggs the way you want them. Dinner was nice, but a bit overpriced for most of the dishes. The views from the room were stunning and housekeeping do a great job in keeping the rooms spotlessly clean. The location and facilities are amazing.

We had issues with the air conditioning in our room, when the air conditioner was switched off it still made a loud noise as if it were still running. There was a continuous beeping noise throughout the night either from the ceiling fan or air conditioner which unfortunately gave us all very little sleep. Pool bar was closed during our stay.

Comfortable bed, lovely view and balcony. Great breakfast and lovely restaurant with great staff. The pool (in particular the adults only) was lovely & refreshing.... Whilst the location is beautiful and at the wharf, access to town is not walking distance. Lovely beaches nearby.

The room had a water leak which took staff quite some time to address and appears to have been overlooked previously. This lead to a musty smell on the first night. Lounge room furniture was not comfortable and perhaps let the suite down somewhat.

Adults only pool! Peaceful with balcony upstairs room (116) with views! Excellent breakfast included and fabulous restaurant with very good service, food and Marina views! Ambience of Anchorage Nelson Bay is truly the place to relax from busy lifestyle. Beach walks right in front of the hotel and lovely Marina for a view. Nice not to have to drive around to look for Coffee shops and restaurants, Anchorage caters for all and is excellent!

Handrail would have been helpful, due to our age, while using the pool but the steps were safe.

Loved the location and that it was beside a working marina. Hotel is beautifully decorated with a perfect seaside air to it.

Thought the restaurant could do a bit more towards staff training. Prices are high so you expect top service. Also the addition of white table clothes to differentiate between a high class dinner and casual breakfast and lunch would add a nice touch. Staff need to be taught they are not serving at a local cafe. Ie don’t reach across one person to serve another.! I am being picky but the hotel needs the dinner restaurant to match the rest which is otherwise top quality. There are plenty of alternative eating places in the area. So they should position themselves above the rest. Food was absolutely delicious.
