We were met at the car and our bags taken to our room after check-in. Complimentary drinks, late check out. I had requested two single beds and there was a king bed, so we were offered a second adjoining room with a king bed at no extra charge. The management were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was beautifully furnished and new with a view of the water and marina. Close to town and all restaurants and shops.

I cannot think of one improvement as everything was outstanding.

1 I booked at this hotel because it offered a cooked breakfast. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get breakfast as I was advised they needed more bookings in order to open the kitchen. 2 The front desk staff member seemed fake, and didn't tell me anything about my accommodation. Just got me to sign the paperwork. 3 The room's furniture is very old fashioned and outdated 4 The sliding door tracks, powerpoints and verandah were very dusty 5 No toaster in the room 6 Upon departure the staff didn't even say anything when I handed the keys back

We loved it! We only stayed for one night for a quick family get away on a budget. The building etc could be described as being a little dated but we found the rooms perfectly comfortable and clean. We weren’t there long enough to truly enjoy the pool etc but will definitely be back. Great views and a nice little walk to everything. I think the highlight was the staff. Lovely ladies who were very pleasant and happy for a chat. I loved little Cooper the ‘Security’ dog. Though I’m sure everybody asked about him, they were still happy to answer everyone’s questions and even indulge me in a longer chat about him as I missed mine.

The rooms were spacious and well presented. Facilities provided - tea, coffee, microwave, iron - were very adequate.Location of the rooms upstairs with a view of the Bay, was excellent especially at sunset. The rooms were quiet and we turned off the air-con overnight to catch the breeze.

Everything was to our liking! The staff was great from my initial phone call - from confirming room numbers to allowing our car to remain in the hotel carpark before 2pm. We ran out of time sadly to use the swimming pool.

The newly refurbished room was absolutely gorgeous. The decor is stunning with great attention to detail. Super comfy bed, balcony with a fabulous view, and excellent location that's easy walking distance to the many restaurants. We totally loved staying here and will definitely be back soon.

For us it was perfect, nothing needs improvement.

The Marina Resort is located at the top of the hill quite close to the town centre so the local shops and D'Albora Marina are a short walk. There was plenty of parking and the pool was convenient for when the nearby beaches were either packed or conditions weren't great.

Some of the onsite facilities looked like they hadn't been used in some time and were left to the garden to reclaim e.g. the BBQ. Some of the other patrons were also smoking on the premises.

The pool, sea view, air conditioning, short walk to Nelson Bay village and marina and short drive to surrounding beaches. The room was cleaned daily (including fresh towels) and the staff were friendly and helpful.

There were no-smoking signs and warnings everywhere plus additional warnings about extra cleaning costs associated with breaking the no-smoking rules. This indicated smoking by guests is a problem there which made us wonder about the guest profile (we don’t smoke).

The hotel is clean, though a little dated. Very spacious. Plenty of parking, and in a good location, close to beach, marina and amenities. Great water views.

Being a non-smoking hotel, I was downstairs to light a cigarette. But there were sprinklers working in the smokers area, so I went out onto the street. I chucked the butt onto a discreet part of the nature strip. As I did that, a staff member drove past, and reprimanded me while we were still out on the street.

The room size is good, it was very clean, it had a balcony overlooking the marina and the bed and pillows are comfortable. I liked that it had a dining area for breakfast on the weekend which meant we didn't have to walk to the marina or shops for breakfast as it was pouring rain.

I can't think of any faults, we enjoyed our stay :) The furniture is very outdated but the hotel is getting a makeover shortly so that will probably change.

The wooden furniture in the room. Top up of towels, tea/coffee etc daily. Friendly & helpful staff. Pool area well maintained. Walking distance to shops, cafes etc. Xmas decorations in various areas.

We had planned to have a continental breakfast daily. But unfortunately it was only on the weekends & the view looked amazing in the dining area. But that's okay we had our usual weetbix as plates / cutlery etc were provided which was handy. Not a complaint just a general comment.
