Everything about the property is lovely except we were disappointed as returning customers (for the fifth time!) that our room overlooked a fence I realise we got an excellent rate but the property wasn't full to capacity so a better outlook for returning customers would have been appreciated.

Prefect spot to enjoy and relax by the water. The staff were incredible and helped us in every way possible. The room had such a beautiful and relaxing feel to it and the sunsets were so beautiful. The cocktail lounge was so beautiful. Being able to sit in the plush high backed chairs by the fireplace sipping on a glass of whiskey is such an incredible feeling of relaxation. The breakfast buffet was so incredible. Anything and everything you could wish for including a champagne breakfast if you wanted. The cleanliness and quality of the entire resort was beyond exceptional. Well done team. You made our honeymoon such a memorable and relaxing experience for us.

Whilst the property was absolutely outstanding, there a couple of little things that could have added to the experience. The wardrobe was overwhelmingly taken up by the chest of draws. Whilst this doesn’t affect a majority of people staying for a weekend, we stayed for a week and it prevented us from being able to hang up our clothes. The storage room door in our building had seen better days and was peeling away from the door frame. Again, it’s nothing that detracts from the experience; however, it’s just the small details that people will notice that will make the difference between opinions of quality and luxury.

Breakfast was exceptional for a buffet. I liked the grounds and reception staff were very good. Restaurant staff good also. Can tell from reception area that the place is upmarket. Liked that we had a coffee machine in our room!

Unfortunately the cleaners need to pay attention to details. Arrived and bin in bathroom was in pieces with no liner and no toilet roll. Another day we had no face washers or replacement of mouthwash etc. I felt they missed things. Also the picture from room on the booking was not ground floor looking at yachts - it showed sweeping water views - very misleading advertising. Room did have a couple of issues - clothes drawers too few and bench space to do work on - not enough. Tv too small - couldn’t read about each movie. Should put in bigger ones.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Anchorage Port Stephens. The buffet breakfast was excellent, dinners were equally excellent, delicious food beautifully presented. The shared lounge and bar areas looked inviting and comfy however on this trip we didn't get to check these out as busy catching up with a friend in the area. Definitely will check out on our next visit! Loved the pontoon coffee/breakfast bar, the grounds were beautiful and the setting overall is simply stunning. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Thank you all for a restful break, we're certainly making the Anchorage one of our regular stays in future.

Can't think of a thing we didn't like.

Lovely area for a few nights away on the Corlette Marina. Fantastic breakfast buffet with everything you can imagine. Staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Rooms are comfy and ours had a couch and opened out to the marina side to admire the view. Dined at Restaurant a few times and had the lamb shoulder share dish for two with potatoes and beans.....and the most delicious jus. A must try....would return just to have that meal again.

Due to rainy days you couldn't sit outside as table and chairs not sheltered from the elements and no privacy screen between rooms. One side of the bed (split mattress) needs replacing, had to use the spare single for a good night's sleep. (Room #301)

We love it here for work or play, it is peaceful and the surrounds are amazing. Its a favourite destination for sure. Work feels like a pleasure when here and there is always time to stop for a bit of whale watching.

The pools are very cold, it would be great if they had some heating as they are so inviting. The ocean was warm though! Our partial view room, really didn't have any view at all, we had to go outside to see the view, but we paid for an upgrade night 2 and the rooms are spectacular water facing. Have stayed here a lot over the years, this trip was the worst room for views that we were initially allocated.

We had the most wonderful stay at The Anchorage, surrounded by a truly beautiful atmosphere and breathtaking location. From the moment we arrived, the attention to detail was evident — from the high-end toiletries to the luxurious bathroom fittings, complete with a Dyson hairdryer. The plush robes and slippers added an extra touch of indulgence, making our stay even more comfortable. Breakfast was nothing short of sublime, with a selection that catered to every taste. The fresh honeycomb and decadent chocolate fountain were standout highlights, making mornings feel extra special. We were delighted to find sparkling wine waiting in our room for our anniversary — such a thoughtful gesture — along with bottles of water and a delicious chocolate. The beds were an impressive size and exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep, while the room itself was idyllic — beautifully appointed and perfectly maintained. The Anchorage delivers a luxurious, memorable experience in every way, and we cannot wait to return.

As a local resident, it would be lovely if there were discounts or promotions to entice local people to spend some time away from their ordinary lives and experience all the luxury that this very nearby hotel and resort off.

Everything about The Anchorage is simply stunning — from the genuinely warm and welcoming staff to the sumptuous food and its own captivating views, no matter the weather. The Galley Kitchen is hands down one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in the area (and we managed to try quite a few!). Be sure to try the braised pork belly, prawn linguine, and tempura broccolini — all absolute standouts. I only wish I had ordered more of the cheesecake for dessert! We stayed in the Captain Suites Room, which was perfect for a small family. It felt almost like a two-bedroom setup, with the living area cleverly transformed into a cosy sleeping space using the sofa bed. Our wraparound balcony offered a beautiful beach view. While I didn’t quite agree with the pillow choices, I can appreciate it was part of the overall aesthetic they were going for.

The room was outstanding, the service excellent, and the facilities exceptional. From the moment we arrived and were warmly welcomed by the polished, gracious staff with a glass of delicious, chilled sparkling wine, our stay was of the highest quality. The lounge and bar area adjacent to the main reception, offering beautiful views over the marina and beyond, were immaculate and very comfortable. Our room was well appointed, with an excellent, spacious bathroom and seating areas. The terrace overlooked the marina, and everything felt luxurious. We ate dinner and breakfast in the Kitchen Galley restaurant,both of which were excellent. On departure, which was seamless, the reception staff were warm and charming. The whole visit, from start to finish, was faultless, and our only disappointment was that we were unaware beforehand about what a quality establishment this is. We could have booked a longer stay!

Purely a suggestion for management: no matter where I sat by either pool, people continuously listened to their phone (conversations, FaceTime or videos) on speaker phone. Incredibly frustrating when you have a few precious days away to have to put up with other people’s inconsiderate ways. Would suggest signage put up around lounge and pool area prohibiting use of phone calls and speaker based activities (ie music, videos, FaceTime) for the consideration of others around them. I couldn’t relax at all and people just seem oblivious!
