The surrounding lagoon is a big bonus in summer days. The heated pool is long but a bit narrow, so doesn't accommodate two swimmers unless the try to avoid each other. Room very clean and big. Kitchen has all it's needed.

Stayed in a room located down and the neighbour from room located above ours very very noisy until late in the night. Called reception and she came to that room and solved the situation. Not too many things to do around. Restaurant a bit mediocre as well.

The resort was easy to find, well sign posted. There is a bus stop in both directions right outside so easy to do local journeys, and a bus back to Newcastle train interchange, so if you are like me and don't drive, this destination is easily achievable! I was upgraded to a suite which was lovely. Everything was clean, tidy and well presented. The chairs were comfy, the kitchen was well supplied with plates and cooking stuff and complimentary coffee pod maker. The bed was big and comfy too! The balcony overlooking the unique pool was a great spot in the sun- it is a picturesque resort and the lagoon pool that circles around the accommodation is so different from other places! There is also a shopping centre 5 min walk away to get supplies so that is really convenient. Or you can get groceries delivered to the resort!

Loved the pool area. Shame it was too cold to swim. Summer would be great! Rooms were clean and comfortable.

We had the dual key room. Great idea. But It’s a shame the entry / foyer to both of the rooms couldn’t be more secure so you could leave both the room doors open. The doors were really heavy and there was no way to close them quietly. We were in and out of the rooms to each other and would hate to be noisy to neighbours but It was pretty quiet when we stayed. Great idea though. Probably should have booked a different room. This was only a minor dislike and highly recommend Oaks. We would stay again

The location was good for Salamander Bay and closeby to the big shopping centre just across the way with Coles and Woolies in the same complex. The room was large and the big bed was comfortable and only one level of rooms which we liked so there is no one staying above. The little kitchenette was an added bonus and the bathroom was sufficient with a separate shower and large bath. The aircon was good with the heating function working well for our cool nights stay. Foxtel channels including Fox Sports was really good to have included as the rugby league was on and watched on the nights stay. Overall it was a lovely stay and I would recommend it if you're travelling to the Port Stephens area. Plenty of parking and nice surroundings.

The only thing was the Smart TV was quite small and old. No bottles of water included in the room rate was not really acceptable for the price paid for the room. Drinking water should be included at this price point.

We have stayed at this accommodation several times, and the main reason we keep coming back is because of the large swimming pool that our kids absolutely love. The spa is also a great feature, especially on colder days, and overall, it’s a perfect place for families to visit together. Highly recommended!

This time, the room we stayed in was not very clean. There were two half-finished drinks and a banana left in the fridge, and the bathtub had not been properly cleaned. Also, both the sliding doors for the balcony and the master bedroom’s sunshade were broken, making it difficult to close them. These issues need urgent maintenance.

The room was amazing and bed super big and comfy. Spa bath was fantastic. Rooms had everything you coulld hope for.

The only 2 negative things was there was not much extra toilet paper and extra towels were not in the rooms. Lucky i bought some toilet paper with me as i didn’t feel like calling housekeeping just for toilet paper. The major negative was the steps in the pool where way too big!!! Almost impossible for me to get out. I am not the only one who has had to purchase a fold out step to be able to exit the pool back onto our decking of swimout pool room. I would say the step down from the swim out room to the first step down into the water is approx 50-60cms. Perhaps the resort could update the steps with some stainless steel steps and hand rails especially for the swim out rooms.

The pool and facilities are amazing, easy access and parking, super helpful and friendly staff. The food at Laguna Blu was delicious and beautifully presented. We also really liked the dual key access so our teenage kids felt like they had their own space.

Very minor things that didn’t really detract from our stay but worth mentioning The air conditioner and filters needed cleaning and the bathroom smelled like cat urine we assume maybe a previous guest had snuck a cat in with them for their stay. There was as a broken panel on one of the blinds which meant they couldn’t be closed fully for privacy. If it wasn’t for these things I would give it full stars.

The pool surrounding the rooms, large room with a comfortable bed and pleasant outdoor balcony. Close to shops. Reception area and staff were very helpful.

We booked a Lagoon Studio Room, it was fantastic. Just was very disappointed in the "House Keeping" in this Resort, we stayed for 2 nights here and had no replacement teas or coffee's, no dishwashing liquid or a tea towel to do our dishes after we had takeaway. The bed on the second day was hardly made up, just quickly covered over. The people staying below us were smoking and it lingered upstairs. (We were told at the time of booking in that there was No smoking in the complex) A beautiful Resort,close to shops etc., Just let us down because of the house keeping.

The staff were very friendly and our apartment was great. I'd asked for dinner recommendations in advance as this trip was for my birthday. When we checked in, I was told that we'd been upgraded from a studio room, and we also received a bottle of wine to celebrate, which was such a sweet surprise! I didn't want to have to drive while on vacation, so we took the Port Stephens coach from Sydney, which dropped us off right across from the resort and then picked us up for our return home, making it all super convenient. The 130 bus was great at getting us around to Nelson Bay marina for a whale watching cruise, and to Shoal Bay for the Tomaree Headland walk. Also, just being so close to Salamander Bay Square meant that we could walk there and back to get groceries for our stay, and do a bit of shopping too.

My bed and pillow weren't the most comfortable, and the lights from outside couldn't be completely shut out from the inside of the apartment as there were no curtains, but I am a bad sleeper in general, so this was probably a me problem.

Enjoyed the pool view room which was large and contained a small kitchen area with a microwave, large fridge and sink. The king size bed was comfortable and the room was well heated with a good reverse cycle air conditioner. The room had good storage space and was furnished well with a settee, table and 2 chairs. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good, served well with attention to detail. Highly recommend.

Breakfast was not available, however we stayed in the winter months when the breakfast restaurant did not open.
