We had 2 double beds with 4 cosy pillows each. The beds were SO comfortable. The room had been refurbished, and it was a job well done. Decor was clean crisp with a simple, beachy style. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom. Kitchenette with sink , fridge, glasses with plenty of tea n coffee. There are 2 sets of sliding doors for entry to the balcony, so noise from any traffic was - well, we didn't hear any noise. Lights from cars travelling at the front were not a bother as there were good curtains. A 5 minute walk to the wharf and a 2 to 3 minute walk to the cbd area. Great stay, especially in July.

Hotel Nelson - block from wharf and shopping/restaurant precinct. Room is modern decor, comfy bed and view to wharf. Complimentary 2 bottles of Byron Bay Beer, packet of chips and a bag to use for our shopping around town - Wow, great idea! Breakfast - available at coffee shop on ground floor. Busy Cafe, good coffee, yummy food and good service. Used the gym, weights, weight machine, treadmill - all in reasonable condition. We were able to do a good workout. Didn't swim in the pool, but it looked inviting. Good off-street parking.

Lift is very slow and stuffy, probably because it's mostly glass and it was a warm day. Stairs are an alternative.

Pool was heated thus kids swam anytime they wanted including in rain, and pool area is great and steam room was a bit of fun for the kids - beats crown terrigal and nearly as good as ramada shoal bay They upgraded my family booking and gave us 11 am checkout which was greatly appreciated and very helpful Nothing was a problem for the staff Room well resourced with microwave toaster kettle even electric frypan (which we did not need to use but handy to have) Room had two beds plus pull out sofa TV was biggest screen ive seen in a hotel which was great location super handy for cruises and eateries / supermarket

Pillows were a little to big and firm

We stayed in a king suite & the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. Room was large and contained everything we needed. Location is perfect, right in the middle of the town and marina area. Nelson Bay was a lovely place to stay.

Room wasn’t serviced during our 3 night stay. Maybe this is normal in Australia but we ran out of toilet roll & reception shuts at 7pm so we had to go and buy some. Our balcony overlooked the street so we didn’t bother with it.

The hotel itself is so central and walk to shops and town centre. room 19 was our stay which was clean with soft bedding. As it was raining a lot, so 65 inch TV was our savior. Little Nel cafe was also nice which was attached to the hotel.

Unfortunately the weather at that time. Parking lot has sensor lights which were not great if coming out of room 19 via the exit where the rubbish bins were. Suggest some more lights around that area.

This hotel is currently being renovated and the room we were in was very tastefully redecorated, and because it's an older motel the room was roomy they have double doors between the road and your bed so you don't hear much noise. They have a pub just a very short walk from them so it's easy to find your night meal and they had a very popular cafe attached to the motel. It's right in the middle of Nelson Bay while we didn't have views of the water it was only a minutes walk away. The parking is very convenient and easy to get to. We enjoyed our stay very much

Room was very comfortable and big bathroom. Close to the marina.

Had breakfast at Little Nel restuaurant on Easter Sunday morning. Not enough waitstaff. Had to wait too long to be served. We got our food very quickly but our food it was cold - hard toast, congealed mushrooms. Obviously it had already been cooked earlier as was sitting somewhere. Took forever to get our tea and coffee.

Location was brilliant, staff were excellent .room was clean and tidy. Nice double layered patio door to prevent outside noise. Heated pool was a nice touch too.. Would definitely visit again.

If I was being picky. I would say that shower head is very low. But I just bent my knees to wash my hair Again it's nothing major and didn't feel the need to complain as there are worse things in the world that a small shower. Everything was spotless and we were very happy

The heated pool, bbq area and the steam room were amazing. The hotel is a walking distance from all the cafes and restaurants. There is cafe near the reception which offers delicious brekky and lunch. I requested a quiet room and we were given a very quiet room indeed. The room is very clean too, cleaned up daily by Pat.

Nothing. The hotel ticks all the boxes and we will be back.

We were not satisfied with the room. It was facing the street and the traffic noise was impossible. Also the sofa in the room was badly soiled. The receptionist on Monday morning went out of her way to change our room to a quieter, cleaner room. It was on the ground floor which was much easier for my partner. See above. The room was noisy and the sofa was badly soiled even though, as I was told, it had been dry cleaned. We were also told we had a room on the ground floor and it was on the first floor. NOT FOR PUBLICATION
