We hosted a large family at the property for two nights, and it was a fantastic experience. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the children absolutely loved the swimming pool and game room. A delightful surprise for our family visiting from the US was spotting kangaroos on the property. I would highly recommend this place and will most likely return in the future. The owner was very accommodating—when we mentioned a few missing items, she personally came to the property to address the concerns and ensured everything was taken care of. Many thanks Jo!!

It’s a very quiet place away from all buzzing of Pokolbin. The property is simply beautiful and our room was well supplied with towels and all that makes a perfect stay.

The external lights were off around 10pm and there was very dark to take my little dog outside. We only stayed one night but I don’t think that we could stay longer as there’s no breakfast on the property neither any cutlery or bowls/serving plates to have your own cereal or a little cheese board/knife to cut up some cheese to accompany a wine in the beautiful outdoors that it provides.

The buildings and grounds were absolutely stunning. It was very peaceful and quiet. The blankets and fire pits were a lovely touch. We had a very restful 3 days here and would definitely recommend for that peaceful romantic getaway you've been searching for. There was multiple nice places to eat locally and dozens of boutique wineries around for that special drop.

The internet didn't really indicate there were no places to eat on site and no breakfast making facilities aside from a barbecue

A large group (17) of us stayed in the superior villa and could not have been more delighted with the accommodation. Every room was gorgeous and we loved that they all had en-suites. The host was very accommodating and easily contactable for any queries we had. We loved having the kitchen available and there was nice touches left by the host such as Lindt sweets in the fridge which we really appreciated. Waking in the morning and sitting out with a coffee and watching the kangaroos nearby really made the experience memorable too!

Even in the winter off season, Thistle Hill offered the perfect location and size to host our party of 5 for a couple of days in Hunter Valley. Due to the short visit and weather we didn’t take advantage of being in walking distance to wineries but there were several along the main road. Hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful in arranging the bedding to fit our needs. They even set up the fire pit for us to enjoy our first night, which the kids loved!

Spacious, comfortable, well equipped. Perfect for a group of 30 to spread out and not be on top of each other. We loved the pool area and pool house. Lovely natural surrounds and sunset view from the property. We had a lovely time and would love to go back one day.

The main fridge didn’t seem to be cooling our food and drinks for the first day but came good after the second day. Other than that, nothing at all!

It was quiet, good rooms and comfortable etc Met on arrival and made to feel comfortable. The view was pretty good over the dam and there was a guest area around the pool. Location was good and easy drive to wineries.

Mosquitoes - plenty of mosquitoes and in the room at night which kept us awake. Also the A/C has an auto off feature and you have to turn it back on every couple of hours - even at night - this is really annoying and should be re-thought. Not really easy walking distance to wineries unless you are an Olympic walking champ, all the wineries are spread out - but you could walk to maybe 3 or 4.

Quiet location close to plenty of wineries and restaurants

If I am being picky no check out time listed there was supposed to be insect repellent and their email asked if we wanted double bed and there were two singles but they did offer to move us. The mattresses were a bit springy but comfortable enough. It was not an issue overall we give 9 out of 10 for our stay. We were very happy and the complimentary wine was a nice touch.

The lavender cottage was perfect for two couples, with each bedroom having its own en suite. An easy walk to nearby wineries and a great outdoor area inc fire pit to sit back, relax, and enjoy the goodies we picked up. Loved that our fur baby was welcome! The place was very clean & well looked after with everything we needed. Such a beautiful spot we will definitely be back and will recommend to friends.

No complaints at all

Superb excellence in wine country accommodation. The cottage was well appointed, comfortable and spacious. The outlook over vineyards and acres was a romantic feel. The bedrooms at either end of the cottage provided a sanctuary of privacy for our trip as couples. The complimentary extras in the cottage were noted and well utilised. We loved our stay. Highly recommended find.
