Sharon was an absolute GEM! She was lovely at checkout and offered some lovely muffins/coffee for the road which was a pleasant surprise! The motel was a great short quick stay and was a great option as a stopover for our trip from Melbourne to Sydney. It is quite central in town. We had an after hours check in which was quick and easy! The room itself was spacious for our family of 5 (2adults, 3 young kids) and offered all the basic appliances kettle, toaster, microwave which was useful. The room was clean, quiet and warm when we entered for the night. The cleaning staff was friendly.

The only 2 downfalls was 1)The cutlery in the room was quite dirty still from what I’m assuming previous occupants, we didn’t make much use of it. 2) the sofa bed was not as comfortable but was just ok.

For an ultra-convenient, large motor inn on a busy highway, I was very pleasantly surprised by the comfort, amenities and quality of our upper-storey room. Especially for a pet-friendly room, everything was nicely done, and the sound-proofing - both in terms of noise from adjacent rooms and from traffic - was excellent. The reception staff were friendly and efficient and went out of their way to be helpful about things like places to eat (even printing out a take-out menu for us). A short, pleasant walk to an excellent breakfast cafe (Mill House) and dinner hotel (The Royal) and the other parks, riverfront walks and shops/clubs/eateries of QBN. Excellent base to explore Canberra, too.

Return visit as we like this facility a lot. Easy to book online on the day we were travelling through and too tired to continue Great location in a not too busy area off a main road which saved us time Easy to park and lots of room, no crowding and risking car damage Easy late check-in on the kiosk Great price esp given it was a just a 7 hr stop over and we just needed sleep Very big and comfy bed with good pillows Very clean and well-appointed room with aircon that came on fast and stayed cool. The 2 complimentary large uht milks. Not silly small ones where you need 5 for a cup of tea.

Hard to find any negative but the shower head while large and producing a lovely shower is placed directly overhead and makes it hard to wash without wetting hair

We had a family trip planned to Canberra during the school holidays, we nearly had to cancel the trip due to the ridiculously high prices of accommodation in Canberra. I can't express how thrilled I was when I found this hotel as we were able to continue with our family holiday. Very affordable nightly rates, the room was very clean and accommodating for our family, lots of different food options close by, and Canberra was just a short drive away. Would definitely stay again, great value for money!!

We have always been so impressed with our stays at the Golden Age. Everything you need for a night or night’s stay is here - beautifully presented and spotlessly cleaned rooms, comfortable beds, friendly and helpful staff. The location is handy and opposite convenient food outlets and only a short walk/drive to Queanbeyan shops, cafes, etc, as well as a 15 minute or so drive into Canberra. Communication is also another strong aspect prior to with arrangements. Finally, room rates are most reasonable.

Not a thing

Nice large warm room with very nice bed. Good bathroom too. Staff very kind and helpful. Central to the main street with pubs and club close by. Even tho its on the main road we found it quiet. We intended coming back 2 nights later, and ask for the same room, and they were only too happy to do that for us.

Only one small complaint . The outside lights didnt go off all night. They tended to creep in around the blinds. But everything else made up for that small glitz.

The beds were comfortable and the room was nice and very clean upon our arrival. The staff even left the heater on in our room when we arrived which was so thoughtful when arriving into a cold afternoon. We will definitely be staying again and totally recommend it.

There was some dirt and grout in our bathroom shower that was not cleaned properly but other than that, I still recommend this place as everything else was clean, neat and comfortable for our stay.

Really nice rooms And bathroom. Great cleanliness beds were of average comfort as where the pillows. But we were super busy and slept well. Good location. The main door into the hallway of the rooms you had to slam close each and every time or anyone could walk in. That was concerning for security. Staff were excellent and the superior rooms were so nice.

Enough room for a family of 7. Very spacious for all luggage and snow gear. Very rare to find a large enough room for a family that is clean tidy, modern and central to many things. Very happy.

Heater/air-conditioning over the top of bed so can't keep it on during night as it blows I'm face. But heated room up then switched off and on again in morning.

Lovely modern and comfortable decor and spotlessly clean. Provided everything you could need. Situated in busy street with many chain food venues nearby. Complimentary muffins, pastries and coffee was an excellent touch!

Friday night was very busy on the main road and although the traffic died down, there was still the occasional loud vehicle at the roundabout adjacent to the motel. There are possibly quieter rooms but we were in one of the pet friendly ones.
