Again, our old faithful regular spot in Sydney was perfect. Friendly welcome at check in as always. No wait for the bathroom ever, lovely clean hot shower. Toasty warm bedroom, thick curtains to help keep warmth in. Great to have a fridge and sink in room to keep some cold water on hand. Beautiful leafy garden view from the window. Great quality sleep, other guests were pretty quiet, all we really heard was footsteps and doors opening and closing, and planes flying over.

Mattress was quite hard, but not a problem for one night. Bit cold in the hallway when I got up in the night for the bathroom.

There is a friendly and respectful energy amongst the staff and guests which made this a very pleasant stay. The manager, Cathy, radiates warmth, helpfulness and thoughtfulness and makes sure that you feel as comfortable and safe as possible. The staff regularly maintain, keeping the place clean and tidy. The lodge had all the facilities I needed and the location was excellent- just 5 minutes easy walk to the train. a short stroll to the busy Newtown hub and restaurants. I will definitely be choosing to stay here whenever I am in Sydney.

I stayed in a 2 bed dorm. I was lucky to share the room with a nice person during my stay. The staff were lovely and the room had a large window with view to the park. The bed was very comfy, but if I were a very tall person, maybe the bed would have been a little small. The location is really good, with Newtown a short walk away.

The toilets on the upper floor need a bit of work. The toilet seat is coming out, but they were cleaned every day. Other bad thing about the toilets is that you need to activate the light on a timer from the outside, so if you are in the middle of a shower and the light runs out, you need to open the door to activate the light again.

We are repeat guests and always choose this beautiful spot for our stays in Sydney. Very homely and welcoming, but also very private. Friendly, and surrounded by good local venues and shops, in a quiet and picturesque neighbourhood. Handy to supermarket, Cafe, chemist, bottle shop, convenience shop, and takeaway food joint. Quick train or cheap uber to the city, plenty of on street parking. Love the back verandah and cute plants. Other guests were lovely, friendly and considerate too. Amazing chill vibe every time, shared bathrooms are self contained and spotless. Love the sink and fridge in rooms to keep personal water bottles cool. Cathy is so nice, personable and efficient (other staff we've met are lovely too!).

Can get warm in summer without air con in bedrooms, but the beautiful shade from leafy gardens, big windows, and fans provided do very nicely. Double brick building keeps it cool. It's not a drama.

The location is great. About 5 minutes walk from Stanmore train station. There is also a small IGA supermarket near the station too. The building is a old with signs of wear and tear, but it is clean and has a nice homey feel. The lady on the front desk is chatty and friendly. There are two sections, the upstairs rooms and the downstairs rooms. Both have their own bathrooms. The kitchen and outdoor area is in the downstairs section. It was pretty quiet when I was there. On street parking was easy to find as I arrived in the afternoon on a weekday. It might be a bit more difficult on weekends, but not impossible.

All the staff were AMAZING. Thankyou tto Cathy and the staff for helping with my lost phone and keys from a crazy night out 😂 Will definitely be back! Great quiet spot ( in between the planes which were unnoticed soon enough) with a lovely little walk to train station, iga, chemist, takeaway. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean ( I have a cleaning business, so it is hard to impress me) Quiet during the day and night, parking in the block and 2 small parks nearby. Fantastic for singles, couples, families! Outdoor alfresco eating area and entry areas are filled with plants for a lovely experience for the price!

It's incredibly cheap compared to most other places in Sydney, especially when it's in such a great location (close to Stanmore which is a direct and short train line to the city, and walking distance to the center of Newtown). Parking free and unlimited on the street was a pleasant surprise, didn't find it hard to get a spot. The room was nice and facilities too. Would recommend.

The setup of how you get into your room is weird, but that's just a minor inconvenience.

Great location for what we needed, waking distance to Enmore theatre for a show I was taking my daughter and her friend to see. The room was clean and comfortable, and had plenty of room. The shared bathrooms were clean and functional, and the covered outdoor dining area off the kitchen was a great spot for out breakfast the next day.

The ripped carpet on the stairs was a trip hazard and brought the whole vibe down a notch unnecessarily.

Super close proximity to our event, we were attending a show at the enmore theatre. Parking on the street was very simple, and the staff were so incredibly friendly, walking us through everything. Other guests at the hostel were also lovely, it felt like such a safe environment, especially as three young women.

Our only complaint was that the bed was a bit uncomfortable, but in all fairness, you’re paying $50 a night, so this was water under the bridge for us.

I was checked in early which was wonderful after having flown for 15 hours. Cathy at the reception was very kind and helpful. The place itself was very well located - justa few minutes walk to the train station. Community bathrooms were a little dated and the room a bit hot, since there was no A/C. Still a very good value. Would stay there again.
