We knew that this hotel was going to be on the edge of an industrial estate but it was a great location for us as we were able to get into the City easily via the bus which stopped 100m up the road and also there were 2 Metro stations nearby that were about a 15-20 min walk (or the bus stops nearby) There were plenty of cafes and shops just up the road in Newtown and it was a bit like Brunswick St in Melbourne. Also a really nice park (Sydney Park) nearby which we walked around too. The room was very comfortable, clean and not much noise from the Hotel downstairs (we were in Rm 8)

The only thing we hadn't realised was that the airplanes from the nearby airport would be flying so low and were so loud! There is an airport curfew and I think it was from 11pm to 6am so it didn't really affect us too much

PRO The room was large and very clean which I liked. The room had everything I needed. The dining eaperience was excellent, I had the steak cooked as requested (I don’t find that always the case in other places), the Eton Mess was the best I’ve ever had anywhere. Well done staff, I’ll be back. The 422 bus from Central Station was a gem, so easy to get there and so close to the airport and goes straight past RPA hospital. Perfect for country people. The bookin staff were pleasant and easy to understand. All in all a very pleasant visit. CON Had room 5 but wouldnt want that again because of the noise from the massive industrial fans outside the window. suggest putting soundproofing over the window to reduce the noise.

We stayed at the Southern Cross Hotel to see a show at the Enmore Theatre in Newtown. There's a bus stop across the road which has buses straight to Newtown or, use the Transport for NSW website Trip planner, for various routes anywhere. The hotel location is great for sight seeing and the airport. Free parking is available onsite - outdoors at the back of the hotel, but at least it's safely off the street. The rooms are really large and clean with compact clean ensuites and very comfortable beds. What else do you need? And, the water pressure is great, and, the WiFi is free. The pub downstairs has a lovely bar and bistro with friendly staff and reasonably priced, great meal options.

The hotel is on the Princes Hwy so, as expected, it was pretty noisy. There are rooms that face internally which may be better, but ours faced over the Hwy (Room 5). I wore earplugs so it didn't bother me at all. Access to the car park is via the last drive way on Canal Road (heading toward Princes Hwy). Don't miss it or Google will take you around the world to get back to it. There's no breakfast or cafe, unless you go out for a walk/bus, and coffee/tea options are basic. Just byo milk and coffee/tea if you're fussy.

Room had every thing we needed. Bed was really comfy. The staff were amazing, very polite and welcoming. Housekeeping did a great job, spotless and attentive! Conveniently one elevator ride down to a bar/restaurant with amazing food and decor. Lots of parking available anytime of the day.

Room was advertised as soundproof… was not soundproof. We could hear anyone who walked pass our door and people opening and closing their door. We had a small blurred window facing the hallway where you could see people walking pass and you could kind of see into the room from the outside we did have a blind though.

We stayed here for a concert at Enmore theatre and it really exceeded expectations, room was clean and well presented aircon was on when we arrived so we walked in relieved of how nice and clean everything was including the beautiful cool room. Check in was easy and the staff were welcoming and thorough. Loved that we could go downstairs and get something to eat and drink and there were bus stops out the front for easy travel along with easy access for Uber and the Sydenham station was only 17 minutes up the road. This was a wonderful stay for us and would definitely stay here again!

I liked the location, it wasn't really in the centre so it wasn't overly busy, but it wasn't super far away either, so it didn't take us forever to drive to the places we needed to go such as concert hall, Ikea, town centre, etc. It was very good price for money. Also, free parking in Sydney is GOLD.

I didn't like that the sink was inside the shower, it was very uncomfortable and hard to access. I also don't understand why there is never an option to just get a king bed instead of just joining two king singles and then having a sink in the middle.

It is a relatively quiet accommodation (considering there is a bar/pub downstairs). The place has access to lifts and room was spacious, it has all the toiletries except for a Dental Kit which they apparently do not provide. I havent been to the terrace, but by sighting it every time the lift door opens, i looks cool and a good atmosphere for creative minds. Bus stop is just foot steps away. Reasonably priced.

I should have done my research a bit more as even if the bus stop is very nearby, i still require transfers to other modes of transpo to get to the city or my place of conference, travel to the city and airport is about 35-40mins one way (give and take if buses show up on time)

Exceptional welcome from the staff, great spacious stylish room with a huge TV and a very comfortable bed. The pub has a great atmosphere and the food and cocktails are delicious. Very conveniently located, close to public transportation that will quickly get you to the center of Sydney and to the airport. I was initially worried about the noise because of the proximity to the airport and to a main road but it was not a problem at all, it's actually quiet at night. Wifi is fast. The water pressure in the shower is perfect. Again thank you to the staff for making our stay comfortable, I would definitely stay again.

It was close to the airport, staff was friendly and helpful. The guy let us drop our bags off early before 2pm check in beforing coming back to relaxed. Bed was so comfortable and clean.

The only thing was the chromcast wasn't connecting to the TV, it worked once after watching 1 episode then it stopped. Kept trying to refresh but still couldn't connect so gave up watching on TV.

The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the linen was great quality. The decor was good too. There’s a restaurant on site and the food was wonderful and good value. Happy hour selected beers on tap were $5! There’s a mini gaming room if you’re into that and looking for something to do without leaving the hotel. They have different events going on… quiz nights, karaoke etc.

The views not great but, remember you’re not in the middle of Sydney but 12 mins drive from the airport. Uber was $25. But all In all, the hotel was really good value and very clean!
