After flying into Sydney following 2 weeks away I wanted to see a play at Surry Hills so booked into the Travelodge at the Airport. It was so convenient to get to after picking up my car from the long term parking. I caught the train to Central to see the play, which was also very convenient and a short walk from the hotel to Mascot train station.

Someone (presumably housekeeping) knocked on the door to my room at 8.30am on Sunday when I was in the shower, which was annoying.

A nice hotel with a perfect location in Sydney. Despite there are regular hotel shuttle buses to the airport and public buses as well, if you don't have heavy luggage with you, you can get to the airport by foot within 15-20 minutes. Mascot railway station from where you can easily get to Sydney Central Business District (the downtown) is in about 12 minutes walk from hotel. There are many Asian eateries and take away food outlets in the area. When checking-in hotel charges to the card only AUD 1 as a secure deposit. In other aspects it is a standard business hotel with its standard tidy but pretty small room and comfortable bed. There is a storage room where you can leave your luggage being kept after check-out and go to explore Sydney until you return back to collect the stuff before departure. The hotel personnel is polite and attentive. The noise dampfer system is OK and you practically do not hear sounds of taking off and landing planes.

Nothing.

Everything except the shuttle bus

The shuttle bus dropped my disabled mother who is 91 and my sister at Jetstar terminal instead of Qantas terminal, the driver said this was the right terminal so they disembarked. They had to walk a long way which was disappointing as there was no transport available to take them to the right place. They are not use to travelling. I specifically booked the hotel because there was a shuttle. So I was very sad to know it didn’t work.

The room was lovely—cozy, clean, and perfectly functional for an overnight stay.

During departure @ 6.30 am, the downstairs car park lighting was not functioning—likely due to rain or the ongoing construction on the premises. This created visibility and safety issues that affected both staff and guests, ultimately causing delays in getting to the airport shuttle on time. To address similar situations in the future, a potential solution would be to have two portable LED battery-powered lights available as backup. The emergency lighting currently in place was not sufficient during the unexpected outage. Staff were aware of the issue and attempted to compensate by using vehicle headlights for additional illumination.

Rooms were comfortable and clean. Location was good, near the airport and the train station. Adequate facilities in the room and airport shuttle available (with a logical cost).

We had booked two separate stays at the hotel with a two-day interval in between, during which we planned to visit Ayers Rock. Prior to our arrival, we had communicated with the hotel management and agreed that we could leave our baggage at the hotel during this period. However, upon arrival, the receptionists informed us that they could only store our suitcases during the day, not overnight. This was unreasonable, and we expressed our frustration. Eventually, they contacted the manager and honored the original agreement, but the experience was quite frustrating.

We have stayed at this Travelodge before and were equally happy with it this time. The bonus this time was the wonderful YOHAR who was on duty when we were trying to get to the airport at 3.45am on a wet and windy Sunday morning. After three taxis had cancelled, he used his own Uber app to book and pay for a car to the airport for us!!!!! I hope he is recompensed as we didn't have any Australian currency to reimburse him. Without Yohar we would have undoubtably missed our plan back to England!

As mentioned above, difficulty getting a reliable taxi booking which is probably out of control of the hotel, but previously we'd not had any problem getting a taxi very early in the morning (the shuttle bus service doesn't start until about 4.30 am). The restaurant lighting is dreadful and makes it lack any ambiance for dinner - a shame as the food was good!

Very clean and in a great location. We walked to Mascot which is about 10 minutes away to get food and some bits from Woolworths before our flight.

The shuttle staff member wasn’t the most helpful when we came out to get the shuttle to the airport at 2am. We were told it runs 24 hours by the reception staff but the guy on the shuttle desk told us it was shut until 2.30. We walked across the road and caught a bus to the airport just after 2am. It cost £1.10 per person rather than the $15 per person for the shuttle. You wait outside the airport supermarket for the bus to the airport. I believe the shuttle side isn’t run by the hotel though.

Great location for Sydney Airport. Comfortable beds.

The hotel computer system was not working when we arrived. There was a long delay and we had to show documentation to confirm our booking (they had no way of checking we were booked in). Again the next morning we needed to show our details and were delayed before being allowed to have a breakfast despite being in a hurry. On check out we asked the clerk how long the computer system had been 'down' for and we were told it was down for a week at that stage! In this day and age one would expect I.T. issues could be solved more promptly.

Would highly recommend. Very clean, modern enough, good facilities, friendly and very helpful staff, in-house bar, in-house restaurant and attached cafe. Shuttle bus to airport was easy and efficient. Also only 20 minute walk from the domestic airport. Only 13 minute walk to the main train station which will take you straight to the city centre (only about 25-30 minutes) Around the train station there are also a few cafes and a Woolworths supermarket.

Literally the only issue was there was construction occurring above the attached carpark right next to the hotel and I was staying in a room on the same side as the construction site, a little bit noisy, but really not too bad.

The hotel was excellent—clean and easy to navigate. Its location is particularly convenient if you have a layover flight the next day, as it is close to the airport, alleviating any concerns about being late. The rooms were well-appointed and stocked with all the basic necessities. The highlight of my stay was the friendly and professional staff, who handled even difficult situations with grace. I especially want to thank Anna and Natalia for their outstanding customer service. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel itself was good, but organizing the shuttle to and from the airport was a bit confusing since it was my first time. Thankfully, the hotel staff answered my questions and reassured me about the process. The shuttle pricing was $10 per person, so I can't complain about that. However, I think the Wilson's space shuttle could improve by providing clearer information.
