Location was fantastic. Middle of Sydney CBD and an easy walk to Darling Harbour and Opera House. For the price you can't realy go wrong. The room is spacious enough and beds were comfy. Its a shame we didn't get to try the hotel breakfast or the bar as we had little time during our stay. I would stay here again when back in Sydney. The hotel manager was kind enough to give us a room at 10am that was available as we had a very early flight. 10/10 stay for this price point and location
Not a criticism of the hotel but there is A LOT of construction happening is Sydney CBD so don't review bomb this hotel for something that is uncontrollable for the hotel staff. If you're expecting a lakeside tranquil nights sleep, go stay in the suburbs somewhere as there are a few reviews mentioning noise levels. Noise was not that bad at all, we barely noticed it tbh

Location is excellent which was the main reason I booked but I was pleasantly surprised at how roomy and charming our accommodation was. I called and asked for a roll out bed for just the first night and with minimal extra charge. When I arrived this hadn’t been noted but it was quickly organised and I was able to check in early as well. Room was large. Bathroom was massive. Books were a quaint touch. I’ll be back.
The hot water warning in the bathroom was a tease as it was lukewarm at best but as it was so warm outside this wasn’t an issue. Could be a problem in winter. We had some unexpected guests in the form of cockroaches on one evening, but it’s an old building I guess. We had an evacuation on night 2 which wasn’t the fault of the hotel but it wasn’t as well communicated as we’d have liked. False alarm.

The room we had was clean and well appointed with stylish touches in terms of classic boutique furnishings and a good selection of tea and coffee (Nespresso machine!). We especially liked and were pleasantly surprised by the size and cleanliness of the bathroom attached to the room. The hotel itself was easy to find and the check in process smooth and efficient, especially as we had a very late arrival and were a bit tired. It was nice to see reception staff on duty who were helpful and friendly.
The only very minor issue was the bed was actually made up of two separate beds which had a tendency to drift apart a bit in the middle of the night. But as mentioned - this was only a very minor quibble. Aside from this the bed itself was clean and comfortable.

The staff were more than happy to help with absolutely anything. They assisted you in any way possible. I love that you're able to use all the facilities, washing/tumble/ironing board/fridge, tea etc. I stayed in an older room, very small but it was exactly what I needed for a solo traveller.
How hot instantly the water comes out. There is a sign warning about it but it's VERY hot. The ledge between the bathroom and the bedroom. I must have stubbed my toe too many times 🤣🤣🤣

Comfortable beds, spacious bathroom with separate space for toilet, washing machine available for free, great location where you can stop by during the day to freshen up or relax, good recommendations for local things to do and see, helpful with our ask for early check-in
Cleanliness under bathroom bench could have been better, no proper windows which restricted light and fresh air, a little noisy from vents and what may have been a parking garage nearby (despite being on 8th floor), only a recycling bin in main room, a normal one was only in the bathroom

I loved the atmosphere of this hotel. Small hotel in the middle of the city. Currently undergoing a refurbishment. Fantastic location. Walking distance to Capitol Theatre and Theatre Royal. Right near George Street and Pitt Street Mall, so great for shopping. Friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. Parking station right nearby at very reasonable cost.
A hand towel for the basin near the toilet would be useful. Also, soap at the main basin would be great. Body lotion would be appreciated. However, I would absolutely recommend this hotel, and will stay here again.

friendly staffs and good services, room is clean and has all we need, mattress and pillows are super comfortable. exceptional location at CBD, close to train & bus & light rail stations, in between Hyde Park and QVB
a bit noisy as we can hear other visitors next door, they got kids running around & laughing, probably they didn't realise how clear other people can hear them, anyways it didn't last for long so we didn't call the reception; wifi password on the card is wrong; there is an alternative with no password but low speed.

Great location in the Central Business District (CBD), a block from charming Hyde Park and public transpo. Historic interior and charm.
The room was smaller than imagined, and didn't have a window onto the street. (The window it did have was opaque and locked shut.) Many of the historic floors of the building (e.g. the lounge) were either undergoing renovation or empty and unused. A lot of lost potential, in other words, making one think back to days of former glory. The hotel breakfast was a littl meager.

The bed was very comfortable and it was a great shower. They allowed us toi have an early check-in as we had a wedding
The iron was useless. I had a dress to iron to wear to a wedding and had to borrow an iron from another room. The continental breakfast was not replenished so I paid $15 for 3 small pieces of watermelon and 1 piece of rockmelon. The yogurt was warm and had raisons or sultanas in it. The coffee machine ran out of milk and hadn't been checked so we all had numerous tries to get a coffee.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. Air conditioning worked well and was quiet. The shower was great, plenty of water pressure. The bed seemed soft when sitting on it but I had no trouble sleeping.
The bedside digital clock was super bright. I had to block it to darken the room to sleep. Water from the bathroom tap had quite a metallic taste. You can buy bottled water from the mini bar but it would have been nice to have a jug of filtered water in the fridge.
