Although you have to bring your own slippers, the hotel room is very clean and the 2 double beds are comfortable enough for a good sleep.

We booked a harbour view studio but there’s a building right in front of the window and block the view. Such a joke!

Excellent hotel in the CBD with easy access to all the best Sydney attractions and has some very good restaurants close by. Clean and tidy with very accommodating staff, especially Roberto. Great views over to Sydney harbour bridge and opera house. Also good views over Elizabeth Bay.

The rooms are a little dated now and in need of modernisation.

The location is excellent. 24 HR reception was helpful and efficient.

My suite was comfortable and clean but is probably overdue for a refresh. It was a bit "tired" compared with promotional images.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated that we could store our luggage after check out and had the use of facilities before we left for the airport. It was absolutely worth booking a room with views of the harbour - the outlook from our room was spectacular during the day and at night. A fantastic location in Potts Point surrounded by great amenities - cafe/restaurants, mini supermarket and handy ATM. A short walk to galleries and Botanical Gardens.

No improvement points. The hotel is a very solid 3 star stay and the staff, views and central location made it at least a 4 star for us!

Location was fantastic. Out the front door is the 311 bus that will take you to Central and from there you can do light rail bus or train. You can use your credit or debit card, or you can get an opal card. For 1 week we put $50 on it when we left there was $16 left. We stayed in room 813 fantastic view of the harbour Bridge and Opera house to the left and to the right the bay where you may see a cruise ship come in. Staff were amazing, always polite and helpful, accross the road iis Woolies Metro the prices and range of foods are exceptional. Cafes, restaurants, bakeries all types of shops. A very well presented markets on Saturdays just a short walk up the road. The photos are from our window. You will be impressed with the location the local streets are shaded with magnificent trees 🌳 and many well behaved dogs being walked, it is very pleasant. Communication with the all the staff was speedy and friendly, even ordering a taxi for us. Beds were very comfy

There is a step up in the bath tub for a shower.

the room was lovely, nice view. I was under the impression I had booked a 2bedroom unit, but we had one room. We only wanted to sleep there. We were out and about most of the time. The double bed was small and Short, Hubby was left hanging over the end. Despite the bed length, it was actually quite comfortable. The room service/cleaner were absolutely beautiful and very accommodating. clean towels, bath mat each day and our beds and floors tidied. None of our belonging were touched are taken. The ladies were so kind to chat with. They appeared to really enjoy their work.

I weren't keen on the short bed.

The location is good. There is Woolworths right in front the hotel and many good restaurants nearby. The staff are friendly and will take care of anything you ask for (There was a male staff working in the afternoon. we had to go to the airport early the next morning, he told us that taking an Uber or Didi was cheaper and more convenient than the train, so we were able to get to the airport comfortably.) The view from the harbor view room was exceptional. The facilities were a little outdated, but they were clean and well-maintained, and they had everything I needed.

I found cockroaches twice

Staff were amazingly helpful. We got early access to our room and they give us lots of good advice regarding local shops, restaurants, cafes and different walking routes. We had inadvertently made the same booking twice and they refunded it even through it was a non-refundable booking. We really liked the street the hotel is on. There's lots of good restaurants, cafes, and shops nearby. It's easy to walk to the Botanics and Opera house area, plus there's a bus stop right outside and the train station is a pleasant walk that's short. Really good area and our new favourite place to stay while in Sydney.

We had a wonderful stay at the Macleay Hotel! The location is fantastic — close to everything, with stunning views of a Harbour. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed, including a small kitchenette which was really convenient. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with local recommendations. We also appreciated how quiet and peaceful the hotel felt despite being in such a central area. We even got to use a shower and bathroom after check out in a staff area which was a huge bonus before heading to the airport late at night Overall, a great value and a perfect base for exploring Sydney. We would happily stay here again!

The shower facilities in the basement, if you’ve checked out, but have an energetic commitment on that day!
