We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable.

No toaster or microwave in the room although there was a general use microwave down the hall. No breakfast order options from the hotel, so we couldn't order a breakfast up in the room. I'm not happy with the overarching idea that all people who use toasters in rooms are going to set off the fire alarm. In most hotel rooms there is at least a microwave in the room itself. Having neither toaster nor microwave in the room made breakfast rather miserable and not a great way to start the day. Re-consider this please. If we are going to that part of Sydney again we would definitely think about staying at the Southend Hotel.

Spacious, clean family room. Comfortable beds. Good staff service.Pub accommodation better than average. Supermarket, shopping centre conveniently right next door.Pub food excellent.

Toiletries such as a shower cap, sanitary bag, hair dryer, and soaps were not supplied. Had to request the latter two, which were delivered promptly. Some effort could be put into making the roof area beyond the balcony more attractive. There were many large black pots that could easily be filled with attractive plants. Very dismal at present. No lift up to the accommodation. Staircase a climb for elderly or those with disabilities.

We absolutely LOVED this Hotel! The staff was professional, very friendly, and were more than willing to accommodate our requests. The room was very clean and updated. It was a pleasant place to stay after a long flight. I love the quirkiness of being over a pub, and I was pleasantly surprised that we heard little to no noise in our room. The location is just close enough to the beach district to make it walkable. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, and will definitely make this our "go-to" hotel whenever we are in Sydney!

Simple room with sufficient heating for my family of 4 during the winter. Plenty of parking spaces in the public parking area all around the hotel. There are no meters, so free as well. Little shopping centre beside the hotel with Woolworths Metro and few other shops. The last shop sells cooked chicken and stuff, the taste still lingers in my mouth. Visitors won’t go hungry when staying here. Maroubra beach is a stunner. Think you can walk there, but I preferred to drive and the nature is so beautiful - sandy beach, rocky cliffs and crashing waves.

Almost nothing, but need to take note there are a few steps to reception and the rooms on first floor. The booking site clearly mention this as well.

Comfortable bed and room, well equipped with fridge, kettle, aircon, etc. I stayed in one of the "superior" rooms at the back of the hotel away from the car park and bar - it was quiet with no noticeable noise from the bar (other rooms at the front of the hotel may be noisier). Nice balcony looking over a roof towards Maroubra. Friendly, lively bar with good food. Shops, eateries, chemist and restaurant next door.

The decor in reception and the corridors is rather tired

The venue was wonderful. It had very comfortable rooms with much needed air conditioning with very pleasant and helpful staff. The hotel was very conveniently located near the beach and some shops and it was great to have access to a TV so we could watch the game. They also provided me with a cot which meant I didn't need to lug ours to and from the hotel. The rooms were beautiful and clean snd the shower was nice too. I would recommend this room to anyone.

It would have been great to have access to a microwave but that was solely for dinner/heating a bottle up so we made do without. I also know that if I just popped downstairs to the kitchen and asked for some assistance, they would have kindly served me so this is barely a downside.

Recently refurbished rooms (Room 10), clean (thanks housekeeping) and location was perfect to Maroubra Beach whee we needed to be. Woolies literally 30 metres away was awesome to get what we forgot or needed including breakfast and chemist next door to Woolies even better. Food at the pub was great and reasonably priced. Plenty of parking on-site. Beds were so comfy! Keep up the great work team!

Slightly confusing where to access the hotel (missed the sign on the bottle shop! and for those reading this, it's between Woolies and the hotel and to the left of the bottle shop entrance) and Unit 10 was close to where the kegs are stored so had an early wake up one morning but we needed to be up early so not that much of an issue.

We are have been frequent visitors to this property over the past 4 years and have witnessed the lovely renovations occur8ing to the rooms. We find rooms warm, clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly an helpful. Having the pub and restaurant down stairs is very handy after a long day on a shooting range.

Only one small thing - they need to supply shower caps again. Being a hospitality owner myself I know they only cost about 12 cents each, so not too much in the scheme of things.

Cleanliness, location and welcoming staff . Availability of food and amenities next door was a key positive for the property.

No lift, no microwave in the room, no availability of dinner plates and cutlery. The other thing that would have been noted was secured WIFI. WIFI was available and useful but not secured . Rest was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the facilities.

Staff are awesome and accommodating. Facilities are well appointed and clean, beautiful modern decor. Excellent amenities near by, restaurant, woolworths, chemistry, bakery, takeaways, hair dresser, doctors, bottle shop. Walking distance to beach, shops, bus stops.
