Front desk and the staff were all super friendly. There was a bar and restaurant downstairs with good food. I didn't mind the noise and liked the energy but if u r looking for a quiet place, this may not be the place for you since sound travels easily. The bar quietens down after 11pm The area around the hotel is very nice! Loads of good food options and nice beaches

Felt like the staff wasn't too responsive on booking.com site to my requests but was very helpful in person. So i guess if u need anything, ask in person instead of on the app Location isn't ideal if you dont have a car. Expect to take 30min to get into the city and another 30min to get wherever u want to go. The only bus that can take u into the city comes in 20min intervals

The accomodation itself was fantastic. Rooms are small but clean and very comfortable. The location is fantastic, a short walk to Clovelly beach, a great little cafe just across the road for breakfast. Checking in was a breeze and we felt very welcomed. The only thing that stopped us giving a 10/10 review was that one of the bar staff was a little bit rude while we were having a drink and a bite to eat. We weren’t in the mood to argue with this particular staff member but it could have been handled a lot better on their behalf. Other than that, a very pleasant stay. Would stay here again.

The location was excellent; great cafes nearby and Clovelly beach with the coastal walk north to Bondi. Direct buses into Sydney and Bondi. We found transportation easy. Clovelly village has services too. The room was clean; a very comfortable bed. The shower was great. They provide hair conditioner too and had a powerful hairdryer. The pub is very popular and hosts sporting events and we stayed over the weekend so there was some noise but nothing unreasonable and it finished before midnight. We would stay again. The staff were very welcoming on arrival and took our bags before check in so we could explore. They helped carry them up and down the flights of stairs to our room. Thank you so much. We didn’t have housekeeping for a 2 night stay. The room had a table top ironing board and iron which we didn’t use. There were plastic water bottles cooling in the fridge. The room is tight for a long stay with luggage but it’s manageable. The sliding door to the bathroom is a useful space saving feature.

The location is great for a relaxed stay at the beach but also to access other parts of Sydney by bus. The staff were particularly lovely and made me feel very welcome. The room itself was comfortable and spacious with a bed and large cupboard plus separate seating area with lounge chairs to enjoy the amazing view over the ocean. The pub has good classic pub food and is a great venue in itself. Nice extra touches like beach towels too.

There is obviously noise from the pub over the weekend but this is understandable and made very clear by the venue online and in other reviews

Everything, the staff were so helpful and friendly, the room was spotless and very comfortable. Although a popular meeting place it didn’t impede on our stay and we were there for 8 nights. We ate a few times in the evening and the food was great. Its location by the beach and the coastal path was ideal, with a coffee shop across the road for breakfast. We didn’t need a car as the location for several different bus routes was perfect. The village was only up the road with a choice of 2 launderettes, great coffee and bakery shops too. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing location right by a little beach and only a short walk or bus ride to other neighboring beaches. The bus stop is right outside the hotel, and there are a lot of stops, so you can get anywhere you need to go. Our room was very comfortable with a beautiful view of the water. The hotel is located above a little bar/restaurant that is always busy, and for good reason. The staff was very nice and super helpful. The manager, Katie, was so sweet and talkative, and she gave my group great suggestions for what to do on our trip.

Location just near the beach was lovely. We had three rooms for my family of five. Only one night, as part of a layover in Sydney on our way back home to Perth after a month in South America. The alternative was an airport hotel. This worked so much better, and totally worth the twenty minute taxi ride there. It was so nice to be in the lovely suburb of Clovelly, wake to an early morning coastal walk followed by a beach swim then a delicious breakfast at the cafe across the road, before heading back to the airport. Rooms are small but adequate, very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We had no issue with noise personally.

Rooms are small. Not much room around the bed for suitcases etc. Fine for a single person or a couple if they only had weekender bags but tight with suitcases and not a lot of cupboard space. My husband and I had a regular room. My two sons shared a family room which had a room of similar size to ours but had another room attached ( like a small suit) with a sofa bed in as well as chairs and cupboard space. For a couple with suitcases or any longer than a couple of nights stay I would suggest paying the extra for the family room. Would make the stay much more comfortable. Although we had no issue with noise, it is attached to a pub, so I can’t, of course, be sure this will be the case for everyone.

Very comfortable if no-frills stay out on the beach. We made the most of our two days there, walking the coastal trail. A/C kept the room comfortable, the bed was nice, and the restaurant is great for a quick meal! Nothing fancy, just pub food, but well-executed. We were there on Halloween and there were lots of families as well as other apparent locals gathering so there was a nice community feel. Staff is very helpful. Some reviews mention noise, and you can hear the pub until they close at 10 pm, but it wasn't terribly loud in our room (which did face over the beer garden) and it got quiet promptly after 10 pm. Good value for what we paid, overall.

The room was tiny enough that that there was only maybe 40 cm clearance between the wall and the bed, so I had to turn to the side and take care not to bump the TV on the wall when going to the far side of the bed. Not a big deal for me, but a patron with limited mobility might have trouble. Location is a bit of a challenge to get to on public transit from the airport. There is no elevator to the guest rooms, although staff were very helpful with carrying our suitcases up the stairs. Do be aware that the front door is closed when the pub is closed, so although you do have 24h access with your keycard it's

We loved our night at The Clovelly Hotel and wished we had booked for the entire week of our stay in Sydney. It was the highlight of our trip. It had a relaxed, quiet, beachy atmosphere, friendly staff, dinner was delicious too. After a busy week in Sydney it was the perfect place to relax. We enjoyed walking to Coogee after dinner along the coastal path to enjoy some gelato. Sea Salt Cafe, a short walk from the hotel overlooking the bay and sea pool was brilliant for breakfast too after a morning swim. Bus to Bondi junction or the city is easy from here. We took an Uber to the airport (around $42). Highly recommend the Clovelly Hotel. Incredibly comfortable bed & they thought of everything. Nespresso coffee, beach towels, hairdryer, even an ironing board in the room. Thanks for a perfect end to our holiday in Sydney.

Location is fantastic, beach 100m away, bus Stops 50m away, great cafe across the road, good pub meals at the hotel, easy walk to Coogee or bronte beach.

Having only stayed in the queen room, it is a little small, with the bed up against one wall, so a little tricky getting in or out of the other person is asleep. Lift doesn’t go all the way up to the top floor. Little things, but might be a little hard for elderly.
