Had shampoo, body wash, microwave, kettle, toaster, milk and all utensils you need in the cabin. We ended up not needing to use shared kitchen facilities but were very impressed by them and saw an air fryer there! Pool area lovely. Bed very comfy and no noise at night. Bus stop short walk away and only $1 for a day pass. Staff very nice. We checked back in for an additional night. WiFi worked fine in our cabin.

We had a great time stating at Kipara. It's in a great quiet location but still easy to get to town with the bus. We stayed in the Queen room, which is relatively small but comfy, neat and functional with all the essentials you need. The shared kitchen and BBQ facilities are of a great standard and kept clean and tidy. Sarah at the office is the most helpful person, she helped us with everything from booking tours with significant discounts from public online prices, local tips, storing our luggage while we were away camping on Whitsunday Island, taxi booking, early check-in, and late check-out! Would definitely stay again ourselves and highly recommend staying in Kipara.

Our family had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Kipara Tropical Rainforest Retreat. We were very happy to be told before we arrived that we'd been upgraded from an older-style cabin to a larger and much more modern two-bedroom apartment, which was absolutely lovely, and which we especially appreciated after a long drive and late arrival. The staff were so lovely and very, very helpful - offering us lots of advice on things to do and see during our time in Airlie Beach. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and regret that we didn't book for a longer stay this time!

We had some issues with the aircon when we arrived, but the owners got straight onto it, and the fans ended up being sufficient in any case. Everything else was perfect! :)

Location and cleanliness

We tried to book a tour through the retreat but after several days of us following up, we heard that the tour was sold out. Luckily we could just book through redcat adventures directly and had the best day at the whitsundays. Same goes for after hours check-in; after following up several times we never received the instructions. Luckily there is a 24/7 helpline listed at the reception that was available.

The ubication is very nice because you can rest really really good. Also, you have the bus stop very closer to the resort to go and come back from Airlie Beach.

The small amount of cutlery and kitchen utensils available. Adding a couple of options in the breakfast like wholemeal bread, more yoghurt/jam options, and butter would be very very nice.

I’m unsure if the beds have brakes, but I didn’t like that It moved around as I was sleeping. And unfortunately, the Wi-Fi didn’t reach to my room which is not their fault. However I did have a lot of work to do so if I knew this prior to booking I may not have booked here.

The rooms were lovely, great space and everything was clean. Bathroom was a little small, but was not much of an issue at all. Location was great and a lot closer then what the maps show when driving between Airlie Beach main street and the resort.

The parking spaces were very easily filled up as we did go at a busy time of the year so at certain times of the day finding a parking space was just a small inconvenience. However, for free parking and great rooms it was not much of a hassle in the least as there was other options on where to park when the main spaces were filled.

Had pet-friendly cabins but the resort is not fully pet friendly (only certain cabins permit dogs) and extra charge for dogs; "breakfast" included although it was only white bread with some cheese, spreads like vegemite, Nutella

Great facility. Clean and fresh. Very funky and great facilities in the room.

No internet. They tell you - after you book. It’s not new to them they know it doesn’t work in certain areas. Curtain arrangements are lovely to look at but not practical for stopping outdoor lighting in the bedroom or lounge. 14a.

We booked the smallest type of room, a studio which is attached to a larger unit, which was small but fitted in everything you need. The nice surprise was the unit was new and therefore all the fixtures and fit-out were new including air con and small fridge and a large wall-mounted smart tv. The linen and towels were new and there was a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner and soap. The camp kitchen is large, and airy with nice new wooden tables and an excellent very large BBQ plate, oven and cooktop, plus microwave and fridge.

Many of the units are portable colourbond industrial-looking units rather than cabins however they are brand new and the gardens and vegetation planted around them will most likely grow and soften the look in the future. There were not enough plates and no bowls or spoons in the camp kitchen so we donated three that we bought at the local op shop. The pool was being renovated while we were there so was closed. Check before you book if you want to be sure the pool is open.
