A lovely renovation of an old building. The room was lovely, high ceilings, comfortable and light. Great shower!! Very comfortable bed and lovely soft pillows. Wonderful simple and fresh breakfast. Lots of choices from cereal, muesli and yoghurt to croissants, toast and toasties too.

I'm not sure if I could have turned the light off outside - balcony. I couldn't get the room totally dark - I was so tired though it didn't matter too much.

Charming old-style original buildings, fantastic location, friendly and responsive on-site staff and very good facilities.

Beds were not set up as requested but the problem was quickly remedied. The floor was not as clean as we would have expected but this was also quickly addressed when staff were made aware. There was conflicting information about the cost of adding an extra bed to the room but this was quickly resolved with a call directly to the hotel. Reception was not staffed over the weekend which felt a bit lonely, like the hotel was missing it's heart.

With exceptions as noted in next box, the hotel was great - it was good to be able to speak by telephone to actual people and most particularly, the prompt mailing of the purse which I had unfortunately left behind in the room,; most grateful! The Victorian elegance of the place was lovely, and the buffet breakfast excellent.

The PIN code entry took a bit of getting used to, especially making sure all the family members had theirs. The bedside lighting was too harsh. In one of the rooms, the hot water took so long my daughter texted me in alarm.

I love everything about this place this is such a beautifully restored piece of history the continental breakfast offers more than other places the staff are all ready and willing to assist with inquiries it’s an easy walk into town or along the river it’s where I have stayed many times as I visit with family the locals all speak highly of the Riversleigh when we mention it’s where we are staying I could go on but I’m sure you have picked up my high opinion of this place

If you don’t like old buildings with creaky floor boards or that most of the rooms are upstairs perhaps this is not the place for you

Location and history of the buildings is fabulous! Very comfortable bed and breakfast was substantial for continental.

It’s sad that the restaurant and bar in this u pique building are not operating and there are no reception staff onsite (although they are available by phone and attentive. We also had to enter via a back carport which is open to the public. Would be better to have access through the front. The door in our room 3 west wing catches on the tiles and needs maintenance. Otherwise great!

This is a beautiful Victorian era establishment. The room was tastefully decorated. The Queen size bed was a bit on the firm side but was very comfortable and it was furnished with crisp, white sheets and luxurious pillows. There was a generous ensuite bathroom with quality amenities and fluffy white towels. Both rooms were spotlessly clean. A continental breakfast was available in the dining room which was quiet and very welcoming. The coffee was exceptionally good.

Beautiful heritage building, recently renovated and restored to a high level. Great location just around the corner from the main road and all the shops and cafes. Across the road from the Mitchell River and it’s walking track. Lovely large room with comfortable bed.

Missed seeing a receptionist at the front desk to greet us and explain things. Hot water took 5-10 minutes to come through in the shower. Otherwise beautiful room and very comfortable.

This boutique hotel was well appointed and in a great location. Everything was taken care of in the room presentation. Our room was a standard size with a large double bed, and a continental breakfast was included in our price. A good range of breakfast items were presented. Check-in instructions were completed via phone messaging. The instructions were very clear and there were no problems. Off-street parking is provided, and signage to rooms is clear.

Next time I'll book a room with a queen bed.

Great rooms and very good breakfast (though I think the bread may have been a bit stale on Sunday). Charming building.

If you are looking at the photos on their web site, ignore the pictures of the lovely bar and lounge facilities. The bar was not open once in the three days we were there, and the lounge only open at breakfast time. This was really disappointing given how nice these were.

Lovely place to stay. Great breakfast. However, both my wife and I are in our 70s and were disappointed to discover upon arrival that we were on the first floor. Up a narrow staircase of 25 steps and no staff on site to assist with our cases. I would expect to be given this information on booking rather than on arrival.
