It was nicer than in the picture. Very clean, light filled room. I had a room upstairs and was very impressed by the high ceiling of the room. Very convenient in terms of the public transport. Train and trams are just right at the corner. It’s near Sydney road so it’s not too hard to find things to eat. My room didn’t face the main road, it was facing the side way and trees so the noise level was acceptable.

The lift was old. The door closed very quickly in some occasions and the open button inside the lift didn’t work very well. On my last night of the stay, the water from the cold water pipe turned a bit yellowish.

Spotlessly clean! After a long work day then a flight from NZ. Arriving after midnight to any hotel isn't always easy. Instead it was simple to locate & our key was left in the lock box. Easily accessing the secure parking that was well lit, past well signed emergency exits to a quiet room that smelled clean was a relief. This hotel may not be "brand new & swanky" but it has everything you need as a traveller. It was clean, comfortable & welcoming. The heat pump quickly warmed the room, the shower was lovely & hot & the bed was comfortable & crisp & a great chat with the friendly staff on checkout! Thank you for the service you provided. I hope you have many more content guests :)

The accommodation was very well priced and whilst the building is quite dated, the facilities in the room were quite modern; for example, lighted shower heads, split system air conditioning/heating and smart TV. Location is very good too (we needed to get to Royal Children's Hospital in Parkville and it was only about 15 mins drive away) and there was a Japanese restaurant Okami right at this hotel's doorstep. Room was clean overall and bed was comfy.

My only grouch was a heavy cigarette smoke smell when I turned on the bathroom light/exhaust fan that made me feel sick. The bathroom light and exhaust fan both operated on one switch, so there was no way to avoid activating the exhaust fan.

The location was top class (close to the train station and tram stops. Close to pubs, woolworths metro, bws and various food places so that was perfect). when I checked in the lady at the reception desk was lovely and very helpful A+ for that as well. While the room was very basic, it had everything that I needed, Wifi to work, a work space / table, private bathroom with a shower which was great, a small fridge which was very helpful and even a mircowave, iron and ironing board which was great as well plus air con as it was warm at times during the day. For the amount of money that I paid I can't really fault this place, it was quiet, comfortable and a great place for a solo person to stay, that just wanted somewhere cheap and close to transport with a comfortable bed and setup.

My room wasn't cleaned each day (ie the waste bin, toliet paper refilled (and the bed made etc). I actually ran out of toilet paper and shampoo and had to ask for more at reception instead of it being refilled automatically which is what I would have expected. I also would have expected it to be called a motel (which is what it actually was and not hotel, so I knew what to expect when I arrived). For a motel it was fine, very comfortable, fantastic location and good value, although very basic.

Perfectly suited my needs in multiple ways. Close to public transport options with easy access to North/West cultural hubs and suburbs, including Brunswick, Coburg, Reservoir, Carlton, Fitzroy, CBD, North Melborne, Footscray. Comfy room with good hot shower, clean bed, nice vanity, working laundrette, easy access, quiet, respectful staff and guests. Zero dramas. Even a barber downstairs, kebabs, nearby supermarket, breakfast options, short walk to pool tables/pingpong, Lifesaver for the visiting artist/businessman.

Warm ,comfortable ,clean ,close to a food market, great Japanese restaurant and bottle shop , felt safe , quiet at night ,TV worked really well ,well-mannered and cheery reception personnel. Close to the train station to commute to the city.

I liked it all and stayed there because it was close to where my son is living. It was a wonderful surprise to know it was so good ...fantastic value for money and will stay there whenever I visit Melbourne. It had all that i needed and could have wanted...good flavoured tea bags to help myself to was wonderful . Not a great coffee drinker but what I had was also lovely.

The hotel location was very good with various trams, buses and Moreland train station a short walk away. The room had a large fridge with lots of crockery and glasses as well as wine glasses. There is a large wardrobe with hanging space and an ironing board. There is also a small table with two comfortable chairs. I find a lot of the more upmarket hotels don't have these facilities so it made my stay more enjoyable . Great value for money and helpful staff.

I was happy with everything.

The staff were friendly, the location was excellent for us as near our daughter and great proximity to dining options in Brunswick East. The room was spacious and clean,

The wi-fi connection was poor - it kept dropping out. Better pillows on the bed would be good. It is noisy near that intersection but not a lot you can do about that apart from wear ear plugs!

Good clean bed and sheets. Located minutes from both Trams and Train which is always good in Melbourne. The staff allowed me a late check-in which I appreciated. The area has excellent coffee shops and an interesting mix of Mediterranean and Asian restaurants that some stay open late.

A little noisy when other rooms have shower fans on and traverse the corridors. The soap dispenser was not full in the basin and mucky in the shower, discrete wrapped soaps are cheap and sanitary please.

This is an excellent stay at a low cost. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They even actively called me when I left my glasses in the hotel at check out. The room is comfortable and in a great location, right next to a train and tram stop and lots of good food vendors. It has air conditioning, a TV and wifi. This is not a 5-star hotel, but for the price it was all we needed.

The fan in the bathroom is very loud!
