Close to social links, it's on Brunswick Road between Royal Pde/ Sydney Rd and Lygon St, 5 minutes walk from each. Shopping centre for groceries, also pubs/cafes/restaurants. Trams to city nearby. Close parkland for walking, and Icon Park Stadium (Carlton Blues) if that appeals. Close to Melbourne University (2km through the park), which is where I was going. Free parking is easy and welcome. Excellent price for being so close to central Melbourne.

My ground floor windows were very open to outside viewing in. Could have done with net curtains so that I didn't have to choose between blackout curtains or wide open glass. Water noises in my room, as if toilet/shower pipes above were draining through my ceiling. (Not wet, just loud.)

Everything was close to the establishment, easy to get to the center by tram and the price-quality ratio

I didn't like that when I arrived there were bugs in the kitchen, they were hiding in the corner of the tea and coffee. We had a spray gun and we were able to get them out but we never knew if there were more

That there was a disability room available and that the bathroom was open with an extra large showering area. Also, the room itself was large enough for a wheelchair to move comfortably to the bed and a walking frame to the kitchen area. The kitchen was accommodating for 2 people. The bed was soft but firm as well. Very comfortable. Our little court yard was off the room with a sliding door. Very nicely set up,

It does require a more significant hot water service as we found only one of us could shower in the morning and the other had to wait until that evening which made it hard if I had to shower twice in one day. 50Lt electric hot water in this room mainly is not enough. sorry.

Really great value for money. Affordable comfortable accomodation, with everything you need to cook meals, really lovely owners, and in an incredibly convenient location - great public transport, the delights of Sydney Road and Brunswick, Carlton, Fitzroy, and the theatres and galleries of the city.

An extra blanket for the unusually chilly nights.

The management are extremely friendly and helpful. The amenities are basic, but value for money. I love the fact there are cooking facilities and you are close to Barkly Sq for groceries and if you don't like cooking, plenty of choices for dining out or take away.

The location was perfect if you had a vehicle ( which we did) , also easy access to Melbourne tram system at end of the block ! It was convenient parking , the unit was exceptionally clean and comfortable and check in was fast and easy .Even though housekeeping has still been suspended due to Covid ( seemed a bit strange at this time ), they certainly provided extra towels etc whenever we asked and nothing was to much trouble for the staff, so no housekeeping as such was not a hassle for us for a few nights ! it was large enough to be comfortable with everything we needed ! I would have no hassle staying here again or recommending it as EXCELLENT value for money for a Melbourne stay!

William and his wife are gentle folk, kind and always willing to help - I needed to sharpen my knife for example - A butcher's steel was forthcoming within minutes. Due to COVID-19 restrictions the nature of service had changed but I was able to use communal laundry facilities and nothing was ever any trouble if required (toilet paper/towel exchange etc). I paid $100/night for a ground level Queen suite (2 person) and found the kitchenette satisfactory for cooking, the bathroom excellent and the bed very comfortable - I even had my own courtyard with furniture. The TV (with inbuilt DVD), WiFi and storage space were up to scratch as well - the WiFi never dropped out, even when I was streaming Netflix. I recommend them highly if value for money and excellent 3 star accomodation is what you are after. Good security too! There are trams, buses and train within walking distance and adequate parking. A 5 minute walk takes you to Sydney road (look North) for dining, live music, great bars and cubs, shopping etc. Alternately the number 19 Tram takes you down Royal Parade (Look South) through the Biomedical Research, Hospital, and Melbourne Uni precincts and onto Elizabeth street, terminating at Flinders Street Station. Exquisite parklands are a short walk away - you can't miss them (plus the zoo is minutes away by train or car). Parkville Place have a very wide range of guides, maps and brochures for Melbourne, Surrounding Areas, and Regional Victoria too - a thoughtful addition to their amenities. Just keep to yourself though (and this is not a reflection on Parkville Place) - my one bit of advice - and stay safe walking (together) late at night, especially given the homeless and D&A affected individuals who occassionally act up around the area - inevitable as one is so close to the CBD (Brunswick) - indeed this will be encountered in any city in Australia, or indeed the world. Overall - 8/10

For $100 a night there is no valid complaint to be offered.

Our room on the ground floor had a comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom (suitable for an elderly or disabled person, if needed).The location is good: close to Sydney Rd and Lygon St restaurants and cafes. The staff were friendly and remembered that we had stayed there before. After we checked out, they kindly looked after our luggage until the afternoon.

the location was awesome...close to tram to travel to cbd, walking to shopping center, everything was close and walking was easy

It was a very nice room and plenty of space for all of our things and it was close to everything we went to in Melbourne so I would definitely stay again

The cups and plates were sticky so we had to wash them before we used them and there wasn’t many cup sizes so we had to use our own bottles the whole time
