I had a truly fantastic stay at the Salt Townhouse! The hotel room was exceptional, featuring a comfortable double bed and a cozy bunk bed. The wooden decor added a warm and inviting atmosphere to the room, making it a delightful place to relax and unwind. The spacious bathroom was a highlight, with a wonderful shower that provided a refreshing experience. The hotel facilities were impeccable, and the attention to detail in the decoration was evident throughout. The beautiful social area on the ground floor was a great place to relax, with several comfortable sofas to sink into. The availability of espresso coffee and complimentary water was a thoughtful touch that added to the overall experience. One unique aspect of the Salt Townhouse is its online-based system. While there is no traditional reception, the online process for check-in and communication worked seamlessly. It was incredibly convenient and efficient, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free stay. Although the hotel is located in Hallen, approximately 30 minutes away from Salzburg, it was absolutely worth it. Hallen itself is a beautiful city, with picturesque landscapes at every corner. Using it as a base to visit Salzburg allowed us to experience the charm of Hallen while still easily exploring the famous attractions of Salzburg. I highly recommend the Salt Townhouse for anyone seeking a memorable and enjoyable stay. From the comfortable and stylish rooms to the convenient online system, it provided an exceptional experience. Location in the old city, practical with parking about 500 meters from Hotel for 6€/day or 50 meters away 10€/ day. Access uncomplicated with self-check in. If you want to visit Berchtesgaden or Germany, have to cross a small pass. Newly renovated rooms, simple but stylish. I really liked the clean look.

Due to self check in and no visible staff issues might be only solved via sms or call. In my case I was slightly irritated by noise from the lift in the building. A change of room would be charged 20€ for cleaning which I found unfair. In the end we stayed in the room and it was not too bad.

Very modern, comfortable, and clean rooms. Our room had a kitchen and living space in addition to two bedrooms- perfect for a family of five! They also had a high chair, crib, and changing pad brought to our room for our infant. Check in was simple with contactless 24HR checkin available. Great location in a small town, but 6 minute walk from the train station and a short ride into Salzburg. Also 20 minutes away from the Eagles Nest. Altogether this was a great experience and I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Austria.

This cannot be helped, but parking was slightly inconvenient. There is a loading/unloading zone close to the hotel, but there is limited space sometimes. Aside from loading/unloading, the nearest parking is about a six minute walk to an outdoor public parking area. It was sufficient for our needs, and the property was very transparent about this fact. This was still an excellent stay and I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Salzburg area!

we did not stay at the salthouse in the end but at the salt residences where we were upgraded to an our apartment thanks to the kindness and forbearance of our hosts who were concerned that the salthouse might be a tad on the noisy side for our requirements. we very much appreciated this solicitude and the initiative shown. Tremendous customer service, cannot be faulted.

there was nothing we didn't like. the apartment was spotless and the facilities first-rate. if anything, the bathroom was perhaps a tiny bit on the small side, with just a shower and a single sink, but that's really splitting hairs for the sake of it. of course the staircase is anything but wheelchair accessible, but that's another matter.

The hotel was located in the heart of the town. It was really magnificent. The room was fabtastic, very beautiful, clean, quiet, spacious. It was a really nice place to return to. There was no staff, but the online directions were very analytic and wasy to follow.

There was no fridge in the room abd we had to walk one level down to find a shared refrigerator for all rooms. There was a shaft in the room that was providin fresh air but was directed on the bed, making it difficult to rest because of the wind. It was not possible to shut it down. The email with the direction for the check in, although very well presented, were only in German, making it difficult for an english speaker to understand them.

The apartment is just 2 mins walk from the bus station where you could take bus to the downtown of salzburg. There is a DM store, 24/7 grocery store and supermarket next to the apartment and you can get everything you need easily. The whole building, common area and the room itself are all super cozy. The bed is really comfortable and there is plenty storage space. I love the interior designs so much and the atmosphere was very welcoming and comforting. The laundry room is well equipped, very convenient to use, and there is a shared fridge and recycling bins too. The security level of the building is high too. The stay was really good and everything was out of expectation (in a good way for sure). Love this apartment and will def come back again.

The apartment is located in Hallein which is a bit far from the city centre (it took 30-40 mins bus to get to salzburg centre and the bus only comes every 20-30 mins). So it is not that convenient for tourists who want to visit attractions around salzburg (e.g. hallstatt/ konigssee) within limited day because the travel time would be very long and complicated and tiring. Besides, there is only a few restaurants in the neighbourhood as well so I usually had dinner in salzburg centre before I go back.

Room was exceptionally large in our case (4 pers.) which made it a nice place to relax in. The additional facilities that were offered (fridge, washing machine, dryer etc.) were a wonderful touch and the cleanliness of the entire hotel rounded of the experience perfectly. We didn't need the 'dog-station' at the entrance but found it to be a wonderful touch. The downstairs lounge was a wonderful place to relax as well.

The extractor fans in the bathroom are somehow connected with the adjoining rooms, such that we could hear the neighbours struggling with trying to calm down their children in the mornings and evenings. Wasn’t a major issue for us as we just kept the bathroom door shut and is obviously something that the hotel can’t really have much of an influence over.

Absolutely stunning accommodation. Interior design is beautiful. Such a warm and relaxing vibe. Really comfortable and clean room with a lovely aesthetic interior design. Lovely communal lounge to have a cuppa and chill out. Great security in a lovely location. Great location near salt mine and summer tobogganing, and only 20 minutes drive to Salzburg. A lovely gift of sparkling wine from the owners when they found out I was celebrating my 50th birthday, such a lovely touch! Outstanding communication and support from the owners who were always on hand via WhatsApp for help and advice. 10/10 place to stay, we loved it.

Everything was perfect.

This is a newly renovated old building which has been beautifully designed and furnished to the highest standards, and ecological principles. Hallein is surrounded by mountains and the setting is perfect for walking and relaxing and has easy access to Salzburg. We had a spacious room and bathroom on the second floor and use of a lounge with coffee and tea, plus washing machine/drier, fridge and freezer. There is a cafe on the premises. It is an outstanding place to stay. We had some problems with the heating and needed to engage with the managing agents and Booking.com but were more than happy with the resolution and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

As the business is quite new, there are 'teething troubles ' that we think could be easily sorted out if the managing agents sent someone to test out the instructions and stay in the rooms. We would be happy to give more details if requested.

Wooden floors (I hate carpet in hotels) , airconditioning , laundry room was a nice touch , central location , clean , nicely decorated , etc … The pictures online match the reality Parking behind Billa was free if you aimed it well.

The elevator was broken , so 2 flights of steps with luggage. Didn’t trust that unloading bay around the corner , I get enough parking tickets as it is. The self check-in is explained very well in the email to be honest. But codes and key-safes etc is all a bit much when clearly there are staff around to check you in.
