The people who run the hotel were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Here is just one example out of a series. Upon arrival, it turned out we had to climb two stories to arrive at our room, and the hotel had no elevator. This was discomforting for my wife, who uses a walker. Without hesitation a solution was sought and found in the form of a room on the ground floor, which was made avaiable for us for our entire stay except for the first night only.

There was hardly anything not to like. If I have to mention something, I need to turn to side issues like the TV handset having a rather intricate operation, or the beds being a bit on the hard side for us who are used to softer ones. But really, complaining about our stay would only serve the purpose of having found something that might be complained about.

We booked our stay in Bruges totally last minute and on Christmas time, so there weren't a lot of options and the available ones probably were more expensive than usual. And this was the main issue, as we paid more than 200€ a night for a twin room in a 2 star hotel. The most expensive stay I have ever been! And yes, not money worth. Despiste this: the location is good, not exactly in the city center, but at a 10min truly enjoyable walk; the room was big, super confortable and clean; the breakfast more than enough and tasteful; and the staff nice and available. One issue is the sound isolation, that it's practically non existant, but it is a quiet hotel with polite and respectful guests, so than wasn't a deal beaker, eventhough our room was just across the reception and we could ear clearly every conversation.

For the price the rooms and location far exceeded our expectations. We were on the top floor with amazing roof top views and of the church spires. Lovely place to stay. The receptionist gentleman we met was hugely helpful and friendly, he rcommended a day out and route for bike riding, lovely to talk to. Thoughtful and kind.

It may not be an improvement which could be addressed, but the lack of a lift would be the only mark against the property. So making our way up and down the stairs on arrival and departure was only slight challenge. But as a family of 5, we all mucked in.

Good breakfast including salty & sweet options, fresh fruits and good coffee. Central location in a quiet part of the historical city center. Nice garden area. Very comfortable mattress. Nice soap. Kind staff. Road with free parking just 7min walk from the hotel.

The toilet is separated from the bathroom. These rooms are located on opposite parts of the room. The building is old so you can hear loud steps and conversations from other rooms. No tissues in the bathroom.

We booked a double room initially on the Sunday night as we arrived very late , room was perfect for that night , but a little issue with road out side on the cobblestone. But room was large , but a little worn . Second night and the rest of our stay we booked a family room , again not perfect , but for the money and location suitable for our stay . The stairs however to get to the room (25) were very steep and a little dangerous, I wife did fall on the last day there . The manager was very helpful 😉

Small hotel around 15 rooms. Good location 5-10 min by walk to shopping area and 1 min to bus stop(direction towards Bruge train station), a big room and bathroom, and a good organization for late arrivers(key in a box). Cozy breakfast/reception area. It was lovely to be wake up by the smell of freshly baked pastries. The breakfast is very simple (bread,boiled egg,2 type of cheese and ham/salami),yogurt,cerials. My room view was to the street and building(I find that view pretty, can be littele bit noisy at the morning if you are light sleeper)(main street ). The room was clean and refreshed.The bed was re-done after 1 night stay, I was surprised.

No tea/coffee in the room, but it was available for 0.50-1.00 Euro from coffee machine downstars(breakfast area). Sad that this information it was not mentioned in arrival info booklet, spend for cup of tea in nearest local pub £3.70. Not sure about Netflix TV, we couldn't find any cartoon in english. The bedding - visiable rejected linen.

Close to the City center, in a very quiet street, close to the canal. Possibility to leave the car nearby (ask the staff, they gave us a map).Very friendly staff anyway! Our room 16 (2 adults/2 teen-agers) was spacious; toilet and shower in separate rooms very appreciated; 2 fans were provided because of the warm weather, we slept like happy babies. Really nice breakfast. The stay just worked out perfectly for us.

Carpets and the sofa on the first floor have reached a certain age, but it did not diminish the charm of this nice place.

All of the items at this hotel are wonderful. The staff, the room, the breakfast and the location are really good. Since it is located in the historic district, the parking of cars is restricted. There is an area about 10-15 minutes walk near the hotel which is free and easy to get to. The major sites are about 30 slow walk from the hotel and plenty to do on the way. AND plenty to see while in Bruges. Please go, you will like it.

We are seniors and we really like this hotel. Nice and Quiet. Secure locking system also for your safety.

Great location, very comfortable bed, good bed linen. Easy check-in process.

We got a room where the sink was on the opposite side of the shower and to wash your hands after the toilet you had to walk across the room. We had to ask for new soap separately as there was only soap in the shower. Our room was the first room immediately upon entering the building and you can hear the street. The street was quiet but you can hear everyone going in and out of the hotel, the cleaning lady who comes in at 7.45am. You can't hear the people at breakfast, on the 1st floor, but you can hear their plates. We slept fine but woke up early because of the sounds.

The Montovani is in a quiet neighborhood away from tourist crowds yet close to all the sights a first-time visitor to Brugge would want to see. Our room was cozy and clean and we looked forward to a satisfying buffet breakfast each morning. We noticed that families with young children chose to stay here, an indicator of lodging with plentiful amenities and excellent value for the room rates.

Check-in after 5:00 p.m. is considered late, so we needed special same-day instructions for entering the building. Getting the code went smoothly because our phone plan allowed for international calls, but technologically challenged guests without access to wifi/direct dialing while travelling might find the process stressful.
