This hotel has a lot going for it — the views are fantastic, the room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the service was the best we had anywhere in Bulgaria. Truly amazing people. If you’re after great views and great service, this hotel delivers. I’ve added a pic from the windows in my room so you can see what I mean about the views.

There were a few disappointments. First, there’s no fitness center, even though photos of one were displayed in every elevator. Second, there’s an extra charge to use the pool, revealed only in the fine print and in an email two days before I checked in. While they waived the fee on arrival, the whole process felt frustrating. If you’re expecting a gym or planning to use the pool at the height of summer, you may be disappointed.

Everything was just perfect! The room was beautiful, clean, modern, spacious and with a nice view! The staff was really friendly and helpful :) Special thanks to kind people at reception desk and the administrator, they helped me with so many things there, from early Check-in to finding a good driver and planning a short trip outside Plovdiv! The breakfast was very nice, and there is also a stylish restaurant to eat sushi (and not only sushi) and have some cocktails downstairs. Overall was really happy with my choice, and would definitely recommend this place to everyone!)

Great luxury hotel with big clean rooms, our room had a nice view of the river, the breakfast had a variety and it was fresh, location is good - it is 13 minutes walk to the Ancient Stadium of Philipopolis and the pedestrian area with the shops, there is a supermarket 2 minutes walk from the hotel, great hotel facilities, there is a big swimming pool which was a bit cold but there was also the option of a small heated swimming pool which was nice, we appreciated the fact that they upgraded us and provided free access to the swimming pool as normally it is charged 7EUR per day.

It is not really a negative, just a bit inconvenient, that the toilet was separately from the bathroom sink. Also, the fact that it is obligatory to wear a swim cap in the swimming pool.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was very pleased with every aspect. The location is excellent, right at the beginning of the pedestrian street leading to the old town, which made exploring very convenient. I truly appreciated the room upgrade – the room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and the bed was very comfortable. The pool and spa were absolutely fantastic, perfect for relaxation and a sense of well-being. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of options that were constantly refreshed. Most importantly, the staff were extremely polite, professional, and always willing to help, which made my stay even more enjoyable. Another great advantage was the free parking, which made everything even more convenient.

As for a few small points of improvement, I would say that I personally prefer when the toilet is separated from the main bathroom, and in this case the toilet area felt a little too small and confined. Also, although I tried to adjust the room temperature, it often stayed steady at 23.5°C and could not be lowered, which made it less flexible. Finally, I think that due to the hotel’s age, some upgrades would be beneficial – for instance, the key card did not always work properly. Overall, these were only minor details compared to the many positives. I would happily recommend this hotel and would gladly stay again.

Convenient location with free parking. The rooms facing the river offer a lovely view. The breakfast was fresh and satisfying, with a good variety of options. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay.

The spa was not working at the time of our stay, and we were informed about this with a message from the hotel only after confirming our non-refundable booking. While we didn’t plan to use the spa ourselves, this could potentially ruin someone else’s plans.

I liked everything. It's an excellent hotel and one of the best SPA hotels in Plovdiv! Modern, stylish and very beautiful accommodation, great and very friendly service, amazing breakfast and a very good SPA center with a big and well-tended pool. Many weddings take place there! Grand Hotel Plovdiv is a great way to make your stay in Plovdiv excellent, especially in the hot summer days! :) Highly recommend - thank you, team!

The location was great! Perfect for walking to the center or to old town Plovdiv. The rooms were very nice and clean.

When we checked out the staff never told us that we would be charged for parking if we left the lot after 12pm. The staff at the garage didn’t speak any English and motioned us to just drive out, the front desk didn’t make it right and charged us for 3 hours of parking after having stayed in the hotel 2 nights prior.

This was my first time staying at that hotel. Everything was good, the room was very comfortable, there was free parking, and the front desk personnel was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, large enough, and comfortable. After checking in Zlatina from guest relations called me and asked if everything was all right. After the checkout, she reached out and asked about my impressions during my stay. Thanks to Zlatina for her kind attention. Breakfast was good enough, but the breakfast room was small and crowded.

The breakfast room is small for that big hotel and it causes a crowd during breakfast time.

First of all the stuff! I have very nice experience with the stuff, always friendly and happy, they don't look tired and exhausted. I also love the location, top location, 5 min walk from the city center of Plovdiv, great. Underground parking is a must in a big and busy city. Rooms are nice, spacious. Spa is also good. Price- quality excellent!

I don't like the lift, the card readers doesn't work properly and once i ask the bald security guy for help and he said with an angry voice "you put your card next to your phone and card doesn't work now" But my card was so many days in my bag with my phone and i didn't had problems. Where am i supposed to put my key card, i do not were pants with pockets, so i put the card in my bag, it should work, i can't put the card in my bra right? How is possible all my bank cards to work next to my phone but key card from hotel to get damaged, that means that this is useless system.

The Grand Hotel Plovdiv has a great location which is just a little removed from the city center. This actually means that it's a quieter location but still easy to reach in a ten minute walk over the covered bridge. The facilities are excellent. One has plenty of space and never feels too busy, even when there are many people in the hotel.

The hotel has made improvements in access to the swimming pool and spa. Still, somewhere guests need to be told in advance of the particular requirements of the pool (swimming cap and such).
