Was amazing, the best ever , better than hotels , staff so friendly even guests, I recommend you visit it. Very, very good, and u feel home and very close to the old city and city center. u can only walk. there is no need for transportation. Thank you for everything ❤️

Great hostel. Nice atmosphere. Terrace with a gorgeous view, there is a barbecue. Friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfast is excellent and varied. Pancakes, fruits, salad, tea, coffee and all this is included in the price. I recommend. I will definitely come here again.

Look no further, this hostel is the most kind and cozy place you've ever seen. It's like walking into a friend's place. The staff is cooking (delicious) dinner, guests are sitting around the table, the kitchen is constantly being cleaned. It's clean, cozy and the location is perfect. I have stayed in many hostels all over the world, but this place is by far my best experience. Mainly because the staff is so kind and helpful.

Everything was great. Oh, maybe the beds were a bit shaky. Wooden beds, nailed to the wall would be better. But I'm not sure whether these actually exist in the hostel world.

Hakuna Matata has a great sociable vibe combined with central location, well-equipped kitchen, clean facilities and renovated dorms. A free breakfast is included, usually pancakes or eggy-bread with jams and fresh fruit. the common area has a balcony and there is a terrace with nice views on the upper floor. The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. Special mention must go to Anouk the scottish volunteer aka "The Angel of Plovdiv"! Obviously the dynamic does depend on who is staying at any given time, but I would definitely stay again!

Not a complaint but guests with limited mobility or heavy luggage should note that Reception and dorms currently in use are on the 4th floor with no lift. Otherwise all good!

The owner and his ideas, it's a work in progress only been open a while . The location and price are great 👍. Lovely dog with sweet temperament. Balcony in my dorm, rooftop terrace, nice vibes. Good well equipped kitchen. Good breakfast .I am sure it will be the best place to stay on Plodiv if not already.. Great WiFi, also.

Not a fault,but the volunteers could be more helpful and give more information about the hostel when you check in but perhaps it's just me , A lot of the kitchen cupboards are not available for guests and a large fridge only for volunteers, so space for guests is at limited. There is a large Ukrainian group / family/volunteers who take up a lot of hostel, so the hostel is not your typical backpacking hostel at the moment . Trying to be honest and give the owner (s) so helpful feedback.

This was my first experience with a hostel, and I would definitely recommend Hakuna Matata for travelers both familiar and new to the experience. The staff was really helpful and explained everything in an understandable and friendly manner and gave good suggestions on what to do in the city. The breakfast was AMAZING - I had american pancakes with jam, cheese, fruits and vegetables. The bed was nice, there are a lot of toilets and showers, people follow the rules and are quiet in the night hours. Tip: don't forget to write down the codes for the doors 😉

The hostel is centrally located, so it is easy to access the cafes, bars, restaurants, and grocery shops. In addition, the hostel is very clean, well-equipped, and has AC. My stay was perfect and I look forward to coming back again. Lastly, a big thanks to the friendly and helpful staff.

Very clean hostel Best hostel in plovdiv

I at first got to the main building that was absolutely lovely. The staff was very nice, walked me to the other building where my room was and even invited me to come back for dinner. They were cooking the dinner and would eat it on the roof. Unfortunately I already had plans so I could not join but I'm sure the atmosphere was as good as what I felt when I first got there. The other building was about 10 minutes away from the main one, I got a single room and everything was very comfy! Very good stay

The only "complaint" I'd say is that I ended up not having any wifi. After I got to the main building I was told that someone would come by and give me the Wifi password, I waited for about 2 hours (give or take) and then had to leave to meet my friends. When I got back later I think someone was there but we didn't cross paths on accident so I was left without the wifi. In the end that's just a small complaint and it didn't really affect my stay at all, honestly

They have kind and welcoming staff. There's only one bathroom upstairs, but there are three on the second floor, so I didn't have a problem with waiting for the shower. Breakfast is included, which is a pretty good deal for the low-low price of the bed. The 4th floor rooftop terrace is the PLACE to be for the sunset! 10/10!

Plovdiv is a very hot city in August, so it is har to explore it between 1 PM and 5 PM, but fortunately enough - the hostel is air conditioned.
