It’s spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained, with a fresh and welcoming atmosphere. Our room was exceptionally comfortable – the wide bed with its fantastic mattress ensured a great night’s sleep. We appreciated the thoughtful amenities: a small refrigerator for personal use, a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee, a wide-screen smart TV with internet access, and a modern, stylish bathroom. The air conditioning was quiet and effective, and the smart safety lock added a touch of modern security. What truly sets this hotel apart is the warm and professional staff. It was my first time visiting Sofia, so I just booked the first hotel I found on booking that was close to the centre. But when I got there, I was really surprised. The hotel exceeded all of my expectations. The hotel staff is very kind and was helpful with everything I needed, even with an early morning wake-up call to not miss my flight home. Whatever the wishes were, they fulfilled them all. My room was in a perfect condition and very clean. It had a mini fridge, kettle for water, a complimentary bottle of water and mix of different teas. It also had a balcony and a mini safe for all my valuables. The hotel is located in a quiet area away from heavy traffic of the centre of the city. So you can be assured that no one will disturb your good night of sleep:) Despite that, the walk to the main centre of the city takes only about 10 min, but if you don't wish to stroll around Sofia, there is a metro station really close by, or you can use the Tram, bus or taxi. The breakfast is self-served and has plenty of choices for everyone. The reception at the hotel is also open 24/7 so you can always get help. And not to mention, the hotel bar is also always open for those wishing a late night drink :) All in all, it was a perfect experience and I can only highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in Sofia.

There is honestly nothing I didn't like. The hotel is brand new, in perfect condition. There is a shopping mall really close (app 300m), and the metro station is also only a couple of minutes by foot away. It was very easy to find.

Personel at the hotel is absolutely lovely. Our every need was met with immediate attention. I asked for a small gift for my mom as it was a trip for her birthday and hotel absolutely delivered! Breakfast is very tasty, you have a lot of options and you can eat at the patio outside. Room is very clean, you get free cosmetics that are great quality. Great localization! You can get to metro station in about 4 minutes and to tram station in about 3 minutes. Everything was great and we will definitely come back! Highly recommend!

Everything was great, can't say anything bad about this hotel

Spent here 3 nights with my son. The hotel was very new and modern, with all the necessary equipment. There is a metro station in a close vicinity, which makes moving around the city very comfortable. Numerous tourism attractions are just one stop away. Breakfast was tasty (but same items every day), the coffee simply wonderful. The neighborhood is not as modern nor nice, but it was surprisingly quiet -- we could leave the window open for the night. We enjoyed our stay a lot!

This was our second stay at Aurora. We stayed here after arriving in Sofia prior to starting our road trip and returned for another two nights to explore further at the end of our trip (we liked it so much that we wanted to stay here again). The rooms are very comfortable and the excellent climate control even in very hot weather allows for an excellent sleep. No noise, lovely staff and delicious breakfast. Although we like to try new things, we would definitely stay here again if we return to Sofia as we couldn’t fault this lovely place. Kudos to excellent hospitality!

Nothing - all very satisfactory!

The hotel is 20mins walk from the center, 5mins from a shopping mall, 5 mins from a large park area and 5mins from the nearest metro. Ideally located. We had a double room with "balcony", it had all the amenities you would need, very well presented. The balcony can not really be used for anything, enough room for 1 to stand, I would recommend upgrading to a larger room. The bed was comfy, it had a smart TV, Netflix, YouTube and casting and a fridge. The bathroom was well equipped, the shower pressure excellent and honestly, can't really fault it. This is a really nice little hotel. The breakfast had a great choice, the breakfast waitress was very friendly, attentive and super helpful. The chef not so much, a bit grumpy. Some members of staff were super friendly and happy. The coffee machine at breakfast was really very good, bacon, sausages, eggs, cheese, ham, weirdly even gyozas (which worked) good basic selection done very well. Nice little touches like President butter, hand soap on the bathrooms, shower wash, conditioner, body lotion, nice towels. It's not a luxury hotel but what it does, they do it very well. I would definitely return but maybe upgrade to a larger room. If you are lucky, there is free on street parking, or you can pay for the hotel parking at €7 per night. I hired a small car so managed to find free street parking outside the hotel. They had a thick pillow and a thin one. Just a really well thought out hotel, with all the amenities and comfort you would need for a short stay. As a tourist, I would recommend 3-4 full days in Sofia. The city still has some work to do on capitalising on tourism. Most reviews are correct, there isn't a whole lot to do. Beer is cheap, the food is quite cheap, the wine is typical UK price in some places but it is very good quality. In some respects, I found Sofia a contrary city.

The hotel itself, I think does a great job in its market and I can't fault it. It would seem some people are not meant for hospitality. A bit grumpy, perfectly polite but you can tell they are just not very interested. Compliant, but don't really care. Some members of staff stand out more than others, which is usually the case in whatever place or country unless you want to pay for 5* hotels. The one thing I did not enjoy was the scent in the room coming from the air con. I found it very strong but I eventually got used to it.

The hotel was brand new and everything inside was in great condition. The room was very clean, the furniture was in excellent condition, and the bed was super comfortable. Props to the housekeeping staff- this may have been the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in! The staff were all very nice and friendly. The breakfast buffet was lovely- a lot of variety and food was good quality. Location was close to many shops, restaurants, the mall, King’s Bakery. Also very close to the Opalchenska metro stop which is convenient for the airport.

Breakfast starts quite late- 7:30 on weekdays and 8:30 on weekends. We missed breakfast due to having quite early tours. A packed to go option or some small snacks (fruit and pastries) set up for those having to head out early would be great. The room had a tendency to get very hot during the night. We did not use the AC as the nights were still cool but it became too loud when we left the windows open. So we slept with the windows closed but the room would frequently get warm enough to wake us up. The hotel was a bit of a walk to the city center- for example a 30 minute walk to the Alexander Nevsky cathedral where our tour pick up/drop off was.

It’s a new hotel so it’s very clean and all the amenities are new. I like the toiletries they provide, very nice quality. It’s tucked away from main attractions so it’s quite at night but close enough to get to, just take metro or tram for 2-3 stops, and there is a metro 4 nearby that takes you directly from Terminal 2. There is a shopping mall nearby which is very convenient. Staff are friendly.

The hotel is located at a dingy alley. As a solo female traveler, I didn’t feel unsafe but I get it might be a concern for some females travelers. I think there are still some rooms for improvement but since it’s new, I think they will do better later.

My husband recently had a one-night stay with his brother at Hotel Aurora Sofia. The room was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Beyond that, the staff were exceptionally nice and accommodating. A special shout-out goes to the receptionist, Neda. My husband wasn't sure if they'd need to extend their stay for two more nights. They asked Neda if she could book a room for them for those additional days, with the understanding that they wouldn't pay upfront and would have free cancellation within a few hours until they finalized their decision. She was incredibly eager to help and arranged everything without hesitation. We are very thankful for her understanding and excellent service. Lastly, the breakfast was fantastic – very varied and incredibly tasty.
