the location is wonderful, the neighborhood itself is so nice to walk around . It look like there are very few, if not, hotel in the area, and I will definitely recommend rather than downtown. the rooms have enough space, the bathroom is shared but perfectly clean and I like the sink in the room. Breakfast is simple but very filling, and the staff was absolutely outstanding, recommending where to go and what to do in the city. The access at night is easy with a code, the patio for the breakfast is very enjoyable. you can go around the neighbor renting a bike. I'll definitely be back if I'll happen to be in Vancouver again.

there was not AC but a fan which worked perfectly fine when I was there in July. not sure if will be ever much hotter then that so probably it is not even need!

Location is fantastic esp if wanting to stay close to medical facilities around Vancouver General Hospital. Breakfast is really nice with hot food and options. The guest house is on a particularly quiet street just off a main busy street and it is surprising quiet and comforting. The staff are excellent and make you feel at home.

Our family room, the Esmeralda, was in the basement, broken window and screen. Very austere, with tiny tiny tv and little to no furnishing other than 2 chairs and night stand. I've stayed in the upper rooms before and I can say the Esmeralda did not have nearly the same feel. To be honest, I was a little embarrassed when my son entered the suite.

The personell is very friendly and we could check in even before offical check in times. The area is nice and very good located. It is just few minutes walk to the next skytrain station. Parking was available for us but it is fcfs.

Our room was located directly next to the breakfast area and the kitchen. Everyday at 6:30 a.m. the cook comes to prepare the breakfast and you get woken up by the noise of it. Later the guests come to have breakfast so the noise gets louder. Therefore if you want to sleep longer than 6:30 a.m. you should not book the classic bedroom (Mateo). The carpet of the room is quite old and the overall house needs some basic renovations.

This quaint little guest house was just what we needed on our overnight in Vancouver before boarding our cruise ship. The property was perfectly located near lots of restaurants and shops. Had a delicious Indian meal that night. Felt very safe walking everywhere. It was quite a different feel from the Hasting Street. The staff we welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was more than ample with several choices from fresh fruit and yogurt to cereals and pastries/breads. There were hot choices as well. Pancakes were delish!!

Not a thing not to like

Our stay at the old house in Vancouver was a delightful experience. The house exuded charm and character, and the warmth of the people made it even more special. The room was cozy and comfortable, providing a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring the city. The breakfast served was delicious, with a variety of options to choose from, ensuring a great start to the day. The location was convenient, allowing easy access to Vancouver's attractions and dining options. Additionally, the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, making sure that all my needs were met during my stay. Overall, I highly recommend this old house for anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay in Vancouver. The combination of its charm, friendly atmosphere, and good breakfast made it a standout choice for accommodation.

Close to public transport station - bus or train. Breakfast was a good selection with friendly service. Room was warm and had the expected facilities. Kitchen crockery / utensils were basic but provided the essentials. Beds were comfortable.

There was a trickling water sound from behind a wall in the bedroom which somewhat disturbed our sleep. Due to our schedule we were not able to report this to the reception staff until after our second night, but it was remedied that day.

We loved staying in an old Vancouver town house, well located near the Canada Line Skytrain and not far from Downtown. Being an old house, it had it's quirks but that was part of the old world charm. The staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming and we enjoyed our morning eggs! Would definitely consider staying here again.

The location and neighborhood are very pleasant and green. The staff is friendly and allowed for an early check-in at 1:00 PM. Guest could park our car in the private parking The breakfast starts at 8:00 AM, which appears to be somewhat late for the guests, resulting in long queues. Additionally, the breakfast room cannot adequately handle the number of guests.

The room was a bit shabby, stains on the carpet, towel hangers not fixed well, room a bit too small for the beds..

I visited this hostel for a concert and needed a convenient location to get to and from the venue at night without any issues. The location is excellent, very close to the metro. I stayed in a private room with two beds and a separate shower, which was very comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious—special thanks to the chef! I’ll definitely return when I’m back in the city. Highly recommend!

The staff is helpful and friendly. :)) The room is big/has enough supplies to fit the price.

There is a dusting issue regarding cleanliness (we have lived for 8 days and thought the room would be vacuumed at least once). My partner had had an allergy attack and couldn’t stop sneezing because of the dust in the room.
