I had an awesome 6 days at the Gorge View Hostel. I will be returning in the future with my bestie so they can experience this wonderful place for themselves. I celebrated my birthday here and since the minute I arrived to this beautiful place, I was attended to by the owner, Jeff, who was very kind and courteous. A HUGE thank you to Jeff who made this trip very easy to enjoy not only did he help a struggling guest with her luggage but he was also very friendly, helpful and informative making it possible for someone like me who’s never traveled and suffers from anxiety to navigate the area successfully and stress free. This amazing hostel is a true gem. It’s clean, budget friendly and you just can’t beat the location and breathtaking views, you’d be crazy not to book a room in this place. You could even see the fireworks from Niagra on the front steps of this place. Definitely great times. It was a perfect blend of relaxation and meeting new people. I felt secure and well taken care of throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend it to solo travelers or anyone looking for a chill place to stay in the area. If you're someone who enjoys meeting other travelers and breathtaking views then it’s definitely a great choice.

Absolutely nothing and that’s why I’ll be booking again with Gorge View Hostel in the future. I can’t stress enough how beautiful it is here and so much fun. You can’t beat the hospitality.

The room was large and spacious and included a big kitchen sink and nice views out the windows. The owner was friendly and very helpful in explaining how to get around, where to eat. It is right across the street from the aquarium and the river, so we could walk across the street and along the river to the Falls. The kitchen downstairs was well supplied with a coffee pot and coffee, microwave, refrigerator.

I didn't realize this was a hostel, so there's no coffee in the room. But the owner didn't mind us making coffee with our own pot in the room. And our room was private with a private bathroom and not on the same floor with the hostel guests, so that was fine.

We had a big room with doublebed, a bathroom and another room with two bunkbeds and a dining table. There was a lot of windows letting the light in, and in the evenings we could see the Niagara fireworks from the room. The kitchen is shared, but that was not a problem. We cooked and brought the dinner to our room. The host has planted herbs outside in the garden, which you could use for your cooking. The host was supernice and we had a lot of talks about nature and advise of what to do. Parking space was just next to the entrance, and plenty of space. The falls are in walking distance of the hostel. We never drove there, but used the nice foot paths to get there every day.

The bed was a little hard, but I expected that.

Excellent location, just 10 minutes from the border to Canada, 15 minutes to the Niagara falls. Across the road there is park wick you can walk by the river and get a view of the rainbow bridge, great for seeing the fireworks display at night just across the road, the receptionist advised for the best spot with not many people. Free parking, clean beds and common areas, plugs near the bed, good size room, safe area to walk at night, quiet to have a good night sleep, nice kitchen, big common area with sofa, tables and chairs, good for meeting new people, good vibes. Would stay here again.

I highly recommend Gorgeview Hostel.It has been my first adventure in a Hostel,I really did not know what to expect.Well it went above and beyond what I expected.It has been very comfortable and very clean and tidy.It has outstanding views and a short walk to The Falls.I love the unpretentious of staff and guest.A great way to explore all Niagara Falls and beyond.The premises are very well lit up and extremely Safe and Comfy.I will come back and highly recommend to all passing through.Thank you.D

Honestly I can not think of one thing I Did not like..

Lovely place, nice view, perfect to visit both US and Canada sides of the waterfalls on foot. The owner is super nice! The room were I stayed was super warm despite the extreme cold outside, and there was also a separate part of the room a bit more private. The bathroom is inside the room, very comfortable.

I visited during winter and the whole city is like a ghost town, not much is open and nobody is around. It is a bit scary to walk around after sunset, but it is not the structure's fault. Anyway, just consider this when planning your trip, not like I did 😊 the structure has no problems at all!

Located right across from the trails that go to the Falls. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable. There's a stove, fridge & dining area. I loved the feel of the room.It felt more like an apartment than a hotel or hostel dorm. It would be a great location for a small group getaway.

The shower/tub combo needs non slip decals and/or a grab bar. It would be nice to have a table lamp in addition to the overhead lamp. Also, a larger group would need more than one power outlet for phone charging, etc. They have very strict check in times that end at 7pm. The guy on duty was helpful and friendly enough, but don't expect hospitality.

The location was amazing. It was only a 20 minute walk crossing the Rainbow Bridge to the US/Canada border. There were also close by shuttle stops for the free Niagara bus. Free parking on site was also a bonus. Room was very clean and comfy. Would definitely stay there again.

You have to check in by 7pm or else make arrangements ahead of time. That wasn't super obvious in the reservations. Just needs to be highlighted more to avoid issues.

This place was so rich with history and has beautiful archeticture and design. Built like an old fort or castle is has huge windows and lots of space and a beautiful entrance and common areas that doesn't even need artificial lighting. It has a kitchen for cooking for those who desire to do so and there's always coffee and tea and it has a clean refrigerator for your beverages. The rooms are airy and light and linens immaculate and there is air conditioning that works so heat isn't an issue. Jeff, the manager was such a delight and was very courteous and gave great information to help you have the best trip ever. He made my daughter and I feel right at home and gave her a tour of the herb garden. This place is a must try especially if you're on a budget and prefer not to be in modern hotels.

The hostel is in a good location on the USA side of Niagara Falls. There are multiple ways to walk to the waterfalls from the hostel, including by the gorge rim trail which links almost directly to the hostel, walking down 3rd Street which has a few places to eat as well, and by the free Niagara Falls shuttle bus which picks up across the street from the hostel at the Aquarium, about 400 feet away. The hostel is very clean, has a large lobby area, is in a big building which has private rooms on the higher floors, can be accessed at any time - although the reception does close early, has large lockers in the bedrooms, additional sinks in the bedrooms, a kitchen area, and is run by a guy who can give you good tips for the area.

The beds are comfortable but can be very squeaky when you turn over. I don't think there was any luggage holding facility if you needed to check in early / late but ask the hostel to double-check this.
