Reflecting on my stay in September, I regret not sharing my positive experience sooner. The comment function on booking.com expired after 3 months, so I asked the website CS team to reactivate the function for me, as I thought this hotel is underrated. The hardworking staff, especially the cleaning ladies from Ukraine, impressed me with their hard work, kindness and dedication. Their constant smiles were a delightful rarity in my travel experiences. Having owned a restaurant and recruited cleaning teams in the past, I've observed that workers seldom engage with guests and sometimes appear unhappy. However, the cleaning ladies at this hotel stood out for their politeness and cheerful demeanor. Despite the hotel's age, the level of hygiene exceeded my expectations. The service provided was exceptional, surpassing my initial assumptions. The room is cosy and simple. I also stayed in another hotel with similar price for few days on that week. Although that hotel is relatively new, overall the service offered here outshone that of the other hotel. The front desk staff here are very polite and helpful too. And I like the name Filmores and style of neon lights.

Honestly, for the price, I have no complaint. It provides a basic, clean and simple bedroom at city center at a very affordable price. If you're looking to be greeted on a red carpet... then there are other places that will be more than glad to charge you 5x the price. But if you're just looking for a barebones place to sleep for the night, it does the job. Because there's a Man's Club on the 1st floor, I booked a room on the 3rd floor and it was very quiet. When I'll visit Toronto again, I'll book at Filmores again.

There's no elevator... so if the room is on the 3rd floor and you're not in shape, you'll get some workout on your way up the stairs. lol. The hotel has no parking, but there's a private paid parking lot right next to the hotel. I paid $50 for 2 days for parking and could drive in and out. Not a complaint per se, but something to be aware. As I said, the price, there's nothing to complain about!

It’s an OK small hotel not far from the city center. Price was very nice (comparing to many other hotels and airbnbs in the area) - good value in my opinion. Room and bathroom were bare but pretty tidy. Staff were nice.

This did not bother me, but there are smoking rooms in the hotel, so the shared corridor has a smell (our room had no odor, so it was fine!). The walls are kinda thin, so you can hear people come and go in the hall, but I’m not a light sleeper so it did not bother me. The bed is squeaky and hard. Check in and check out took a little longer than I’m used to in the States, but I don’t know if it’s hotel’s or Toronto/Canada thing.

As hotels in downtown Toronto are extremely expensive, Filmore´s Hotel is both affordable and close to the Dundas / Yonge attractions. The outward appearance of the building matches its tired age, but inside the rooms are comfortable and serve their purpose. Single men looking for an evening´s entertainment can be treated to an erotic show, chatting to friendly girls and more. Those not interested in such things, on the other hand, would be hardly aware of any of this going on.

The music beat from the gentlemen´s club can be faintly heard each night but it didn´t stop me from going to sleep.

The location is good! It is accessible by the streetcar. The washroom is far away from the room, but the shower is as stated in the photos! I like the room that was provided, and I got a free soap to take home. Hotel is kept in a good condition, and it is close to the mall (Eaton Centre)! All in all it was great. A+++

The hotel is within walking distance to Dundas Square and shopping malls around that area. The room is equipped with a tv, fan, and a wash basin. I chose the shared toilet and bathroom. The shared toilet is located on one other end of the corridor and the bathroom is one the other end of the corridor. The room is clean regularly. There is also self-service machine machine and dryer at the pantry next to reception area.

There is no elevator at this hotel. If you are travelling with a medium size/large luggage it can be a bit challenging for you.

My 21 yr old daughter and myself stayed there and it was perfect for us. Just down the street from younge and Dundas... streetcar right outside the door. It was clean and staff was friendly. Was able to smoke in our room, which was a bonus. There IS a strip club on the main floor but it or it's patrons affected our stay in the slightest. If you want a no frills no hassle, laid back place to stay that is close to the main drag...I recommend the Filmore...I'll definitely stay there again as well as my daughter

Easy access to the downtown of Toronto. Eaton's Centre, shopping, attractions and transit. Rooms were nice, clean, quiet and relaxing. You couldn't hear any of the hustle and bustle of Dundas Street East. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

The pace of street life was active and busy. That said, typical of any downtown and Toronto being the biggest city in Canada... the streets were abundant with activity. You certainly are in the heartbeat of a fantastic city.

loved the location and the history of the building itself! It’s located above a gentleman’s club, which lead to a fun and adventurous stay for our group! we had an absolute blast staying here while in town for a concert, everyone working there was absolutely amazing. As a group of all girls we felt completely safe and comfortable here. 100/10 recommended to any travellers up for an experience and good stories to come back with!

It was clean and there was a tv with cable.

It is outdated. There was no microwave or fridge in the room. Only one bar of soap and two bath towels were provided - no hand towels or washcloths. No shampoo/conditioner or lotion. Had to pay for coffee or tea and there was no cream or milk.
