We booked the family suite, and it had serious charm! We had a nicely stocked small kitchen and space to spread out for our family of 4. The apartment felt very Montreal with the curved, iron staircase in the back and exposed brick within the unit. (Do not book if you have trouble navigating steep or winding stairs!) It was a self-check in setup, but the staff was responsive to messages quickly. The bedroom was not as cool as the rest of the unit, but they turned up the building AC when I requested a fan. We loved the location within easy walking distance to shops and a grocery store.

The city is full of one-way streets so it is surprisingly hard to get to the parking area behind the unit. Another tenant's car was stolen from the lot while we were there so they are not kidding about their warning of parking provided upon check in. Beware!

The room was spacious and nicely decorated with plush bedding. Kitchen had tea and coffee. There were two large flat screen tv’s and lots of channel options. Furniture was comfortable and plentiful. Towels were luxurious and thick, and shampoo, conditioner and body lotion were left for use. Breakfast was delicious and of high quality. The staff at breakfast were attentive and friendly. We arrived late and explicit instructions were left, once we found the property.

There are a fair amount of steps to climb, even for the lower level room. This was a problem for my mother we did not expect. The property was fairly difficult to find. There are three buildings and we had to figure out which building to go to on our own. The bathroom pocket door doesn’t close. The address given for the parking lot is on the opposite side of the road, which completely confused us when trying to park upon arrival. There are few food options nearby. We were able to order Uber Eats from a nearby bagel shop, however.

We had a basement room but the lighting and decor didn't make it feel subterranean. Room really well equipped and quirky. We've stayed in a lot of hotels in Montreal. This time we booked last minute and didn't have many options so we just grabbed this place, but we were pleasantly surprised and really ended up liking it. Parking in the back was convenient and we didn't have to negotiate the impossibly tight underground parking lots in downtown Montreal. Very close to a Metro and a short walk to Griffintown or up to Sherbrooke. Breakfast was decent. Super close to highway to get out of town, and we found noise at a minimum (unlike hotels on Sherbrooke or in Old Montreal where noise can keep you up all night).

Before we arrived, a potted plant had fallen from above and shattered all over the back entrance stairs. We texted to alert staff and tell them the sharp shards were unsafe but they said it couldn't be cleaned up until the morning. The pieces were still all there when we left the next day.

BReakfast staff were fantastic. Breakfast was very nice, served with options for full meal. Room was up three floors, but nice size and bright colors. Not great if you don't have stair agility. KItchen on every floor, coffee on every floor. Parking directions are a little confusing. There is ample parking behind the two buildings of the small b and b. You need to come down the side street which is one way and turn in right behind the houses on the street of the hotel. Easy walk to multiple places to eat, to go out. Easy bicycle paths to get anywhere and public transport. Near a subway, felt saft. A little train noise if windows open. If don't want that, maybe ask for back of the building Nice to have stairs down to parking. All in all a nice value.

We enjoy the location of this property! Easy walking distance to Bell Centre, St. Catharine Street, Central Train Station (we are walkers/hikers) and Mount Royal for the beautiful view of the city/St. Lawrence River The breakfast was delicious and the staff were kind and helpful. It is on street that leads directly to the Lucien-Allier metro station, so can be a bit noisy with people but it's a vibrant city and it's Montreal! We enjoyed our luxury room on the first floor...it was comfortable and colourful. Although it is called a Bed and Breakfast...you do pay for the breakfast (if you choose). A great little gem this B and B!

If we want to be fussy...then the bed/floors are creaky! Part of the charm though. As mentioned there can be street noise but we didn't find it too bothersome. There can be some light peeking through the blinds as the metro station lights are very close (the metro is quiet). So if light bothers you, bring an eye mask

Location was superb—in the downtown area, but on a quiet, tree-lined residential street. There’s a Metro stop very near, and a main boulevard 2 blocks away I’d you want a taxi. Staff were lovely, breakfasts quite nice, in a spacious dining room. We will definitely stay there again. What we especially liked is it he bright decor. The antithesis of corporate hotel rooms! Bonus? On-site parking (there’s a small fee).

There isn’t a 24 hour desk, and the main doors are a bit tricky to lock if you come in after 6 or 7. The back door (most convenient) was impossible to lock so we gave up,and used the front after hours.

- The room is absolutely incredible and unique, the decoration and the amenities like the jacuzzi bathtub that sits infront of the fire (which we didn't use) and TV was a novelty and we found it a relaxing space. 502 was on the basement level so we had the whole floor to ourselves and with a microwave and kitchen utensils it meant that we could buy groceries and make food to take out and about with us for lunches. - The staff were excellent and accommodating by storing our luggage before check-in and taking them to our room while we were out. - The location is perfect! Within 20 minute walk to the main centre and 1 minute from a metro station so getting around is very easy!

Wifi was quite spotty, we lost connection quite a bit but it may be better in other rooms above ground! As it was a basement room, it doesn't have much of a view but that doesn't bother us, and in the morning there was some noise above but you can't avoid it and it also didn't prevent us from relaxing.

It was great being right next door to a Metro station. You don't have to stay in the heart of the city if you are that close to public transportation. And the Metro is reliable and FAST! Our room had all the amenities you could ask for, especially a comfortable bed and a whirlpool tub. Loved everything about our room. It was an old building so the floors creaked and you could hear the neighbors, but it wasn't a big deal for me. I put up with worse in my own home.

This is not a complaint for myself, but I can see other parties having issue with this. At least in our own suite, there was about a one foot drop from the bathroom to the bedroom. Anyone with mobility issues, or more elderly guests, might have a little trouble coming in and out of it. At the end of a very long day of touring the city, it occasionally took a little extra "oomph" with this step.

very convenient for the Metro station. Lots of small friendly touches such as really good coffee making equipment in s communal hall area, fridge and microwave in the room, and really pleasant decor and cozy feel.

I think the instructions around getting to the Auberge using bus from the airport and back could be clearer. It is actually an additional convenience point for the Auberge because it was quite easy and saved expensive taxi rides. I felt the price for the breakfast was a little high but the service was friendly, the omelette was great and it was a good start to the day

The hotel is set in a small street in a building with a few entrances. The suite was big and comfortable it had a lot of room to sit and play and sleep its perfect for a family, but there are stairs so it might be hard with a baby. The bathroom is huge with a great jacuzzi. The room is decorated with much thought in a southern french-spanish style which made the experience even more nice. Just outside the door there was a kitchen with coffee and all the appliances needed. We didn't cook but it was good for fruits and t.a. Location is great just steps from the metro and a 10 min walk to downtown where you can find many shops and restaurants. You can even walk to the old city it only takes 25 min. You can add 16 cad for an all day parking.

The building is a bit old, so we heard the guests on the floor above us walking in the morning and it woke us up. After the first night they didn't clean the room, but after I asked in the next day - they did.
