the hostel has very clean co work bathrooms super clean I stayed in a female dorm room it was comfortable and the area was walkable to stores and the bus stops the metro station was very close the only thing I didn't like was the charging port you need an adapter to charge your phone or the staff will rent you one or you have to buy it the breakfast was really good I really liked the bagels I met a lot of people at this hostel the hostel had good vibes
plugs in my dorm room didn't work with out an adapter female bathroom could have been cleaner also it snowed a lot during my stay also their is no elevator you have to walk up stairs

I was in Canada from October 1st to 24th and made 8 reservations at this hostel. I had only booked my first day at the hostel, but I liked it so much that I extended my stay. I stayed at other hostels, but I always returned to Saintlo because this is without a doubt the best hostel in Montreal. The hostel is always clean, has breakfast, and has a familiar and friendly atmosphere. I would like to thank the staff (CoCo and Flor) who always kept the hostel very clean and whenever I asked, they provided me with more towels and whatever I needed. I would like to thank the volunteers who are very welcoming, friendly and make a huge difference at the hostel with daily activities for the guests (Valéria, Declan, Laura, Blanca, Evan and Luis). I would like to highlight Valéria who is a volunteer and also a staff member at the hostel. She is an incredible person, very hard-working, very dedicated to the hostel and has a lot of potential. The hostel has a bar in the same area as the snooker table, which allows for interaction between guests. Not to mention the Bar Manager Phelipe, who is the fun of the bar and interacts with everyone, making the atmosphere fun and friendly. The bar wouldn't be the same without him. These days that I spent at the hostel were incredible and made my vacation in Canada even more special. This hostel is without a doubt one of the best I've ever been to.

Staff is friendly & helpful. 2 staff at the desk 24/7. Room/ bed set up: each bed had a privacy curtain, outlet, little shelf by the head of the bed, small locker space. Kitchen & dining area: LOTS of different tools for cooking your own food. Kitchen is open at all times, except 2-4pm (yes, even open at 2am). Big fridge -- you can store your own food in separate, labelled trays. Dining area has many various seating configurations, very flexible. Long breakfast window (7.30am- 11am). No discrimination against late sleepers & people come down in a more staggered fashion. After checkout, they have free luggage storage until midnight that day. Super helpful.
The 10 females room having just one washroom (shower & toilet together) is a little uncomfortable. One shower per room is fine ofc. I wish there was an extra 2-3 bathroom stalls on every floor, rather than just the one extra bathroom per floor. Can't get a water bottle at the bar.

The place is spotless. The dining area and washrooms were clean enough to eat off the floor. The staff members are courteous and professional, but also warm and welcoming. Finally, the location and free breakfast offering makes for better value for your dollar.
A single room for 1 adult is essentially comprised of a bunk bed with a mattress I deemed too soft for comfort. Also, although it is good value for its location, I would not deem the value proposition. Considering it was mid-week in April, I still paid $116 for a single night. As with any hotel or hostel, prices spike during peak season, which in Montreal is essentially June through Labour Day, as well as on Fridays and Saturdays, in other words, peak weekdays. No surprise there.

This hostel is one of the best I've ever stayed at! Gorgeous building with lots of amenities on offer. The room was spacious with curtains and plugs, a backpackers dream! I was only staying 1 night but would love to come back and make use of the events on offer. The bar downstairs is a big bonus, and the staff all seem like they like eachother which is great to see! I was even blown away when I was offered help with my luggage :) Free ear plugs on offer, food options available for purchase. Quiet rooms. I didn't make it to breakfast but the fact that it was on until 11am was amazing to see!
The en-suite fan was rather loud.

The lounge area in the basement was a breakfast café in the morning and a bar at night. Great cozy place to hang out and meet people. Lots of barstools, chairs, tables, and couches to sit on. It's right in the middle of downtown and the Lucien L'Allier metro station is right around the corner. All the staff are super friendly and helpful.
If you're a light sleeper a hostel probably isn't the place for you because the bunk bed ladders are creaky and might wake you. Other than that the place is wonderful.

1) Excellent co-working spaces and wifi stability for those working remotely! And the fact that they are accessible 24/7! 2) The common bathrooms have showers! 3) Fully equipped kitchen. 4) Cleanliness around the clock! 5) As a female solo traveler, I definitely felt safe throughout my entire stay here.
Nothing. I now tend to compare all the hostels to Auberge's level! This is the standard that all hostels should have!

I booked 6 nights at this place. The hostel is very clean, very well located about two blocks from the subway and just one block from the bus station. The beds and rooms are comfortable and a good size. The area is very safe, close to cafes, pharmacies, and grocery stores. Breakfast is fine, consisting of coffee, bread, cereal, and apples, but there is no protein. When I arrived, they had an overbooking problem, which is why they changed my room on my second day, with the inconvenience of checking out at 11 a.m. and checking back in after 4 p.m. The new room was very noisy, so I requested another change for my third day to a room in the backyard, and they made the switch.
The rooms facing the front are very noisy. The hostel's bar claims to operate until 11:00 p.m., but the music continues until 12:30 a.m., making it difficult to fall asleep in the first-floor rooms before then. Some staff members do not provide information about the breakfast schedule or where it is served, even though it is included in the reservation. It doesn't make sense to have a water dispenser labeled as tap water; it would be better to just avoid it altogether.

The staff were young and friendly as you'd expect from a youth hostel. The room was relatively spacious and quite clean. They offer a really decent free breakfast for a fair amount of time and the common area/bistro/kitchen was great. The location is fairly central with close access to the orange line (although it is one of the more annoying stations due to the amount of stairs) and the green line/Ste-Catherine is within easy walking distance. There are plenty of eateries you can walk to as well since there are quite few hotels on René Lévesque and both McGill and Concordia University are nearby. All in a good to great deal for this type of place in this location and at this price point.
Well, the beds did feel a bit wobbly at times which while not an issue was a bit concerning the first time I climbed up. The shower head cannot be moved and the space in the shower is limited, thus it can get awkward during shower time. The wi-fi works fine in the common areas but falters a bit inside of the dormitory rooms.

For a hostel, it was better than expected. All necessary items were provided without the unnecessary extras not everyone wants to pay for anyway. They were very kind to let us store our bags after our checkout so we could still see the city while we waited for our late flight. I loved the provided breakfast of bagels, spreads and coffee. There was a kitchen so if you brought your own food, it could be cooked there. I loved the atmosphere of so many young adults cleaning up their own mess and washing their own dishes. It gave it a 'home' experience.
Everything was great. No complaints.
