the building is very beautiful and so are the rooms. breakfast was very nice, made per person (no buffet). breakfast came with fresh local fruits every day. the location is very convenient and the staff was friendly. The pool is small but very nice, overlooking the city. I had a downstairs room which was beautiful!

there were no coffee or drinks facilities except from the breakfast. it would have been nice to be able to make coffee or get coffee or some drinks during the day.

From the moment we pushed open the great door, we felt like we walked into a home, not a hotel. The room, with it's majestic king size bed and large stunning bathroom, was very comfortable, it had the first not-so-firm mattress of the trip. It also has quiet air conditioning and a mini-fridge. We loved the rooftop pool with it's stunning 360 views of the city; the library was full of books and comfy sofas where you can enjoy a cool space beyond the bedroom. Breakfast of tasty local fruit and a good cooked breakfast was served in a grand dining room. The focus is very much on peace and quiet and these rules are strictly enforced inside. When you step out, you are directly in the hustle-bustle of Cartagena centre. Wonderful staff at the reception and great service with a smile.

The staff is exceptionally good in general, but Susana and Kathleen at the reception did an outstanding job in dealing with some of our logistic issues. They are efficient, amicable, effective and always available to attend to your needs.

We had a room (#5) that was much smaller than the others, a bit cramped and old (as opposed to vintage). But at the end the staff was very kind and effective in addressing this issue as well.

It is in a great central location. The room we had, a junior suite, was spacious and airy. The rooftop pool was a bonus and offered a 360 degree view of the city. The staff were lovely and went out of their way to help particularly Kathleen who guided us through the streets when we were lost.

Nothing. There a general problem though in that there were no detailed street plans available anywhere in the city even in the tourist offices.

This is the best hotel i've stayed in Colombia without a doubt. The attention to detail in the entire experience was amazing as you can tell the place is very well managed. The breakfast was really good, with fresh fruits, eggs, bread and different variety every morning. The staff was extremely nice, knowledgeable, and bilingual. The hotel is in the centro next to some lively street action during the weekend we stayed BUT the room that we were in had an amazing soundproofing and we slept like babies! I've never seen this in any hotel but it really made the difference. Also the decorations and style of the hotel is simply amazing, antique mirrors, chairs, pianos, balconies , you name it, it felt like we were in another century (in a good way). The library room is probably one of the most unique and beautiful i've ever seen in a hotel. Also the rooftop views at sunset are incredible! Stay here!

nothing, I wish we stayed longer.

This is a charming small hotel in a beautiful old coloniel house. The rooms are well appointed, especially those three (5, 6 and 7) with a balcony/terrace. The breakfasts were delicious and the pool is a marvellous bonus with great views from the roof. The staff were not super friendly, but they were very helpful and this was much appreciated.

The staff could have been more friendly and welcoming - they were efficient rather than warm.

Loved the bathroom and size of the room, style of furniture, and well-functioning AC. Really enjoyed the breakfast, and the dining room and library were lovely. Also enjoyed chatting with the host.

The hot water in the shower was never more than lukewarm. In any other climate, that would have been tragic, but the Cartagena heat helped offset that.

What can one say about a fantastic place. It was just wonderful, staff terrific, helpful, room was so well done (the bathroom is to die for). Highly recommended for Old Town Cartagena.

Nothing. I cannot thing of anything else I would want or need. Bigger pool maybe rather than a plunge pool but there is no room for one. It is a great place.

The cleanliness and location are two important attributes of this property, but it was the customer service provided by the front desk must be mentioned here. The girls managing reception were amazing, friendly and always ready to serve with big smile.

The breakfast options were limited as it was a set menu daily. However, whatever was served was good.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. The library and rooftop pool are gorgeous. Our room was very quiet and comfortable. The staff here are excellent. One night, my husband was sick and the concierge went to the pharmacy to get him medicine. Really above and beyond. Nice breakfast here too.
