Comfortable beds, large room, view of the volcano, pool bar, many colorful birds in the hotel, good location, very nice breakfast and dinner.

We found it very strange that during check-in one has to sign a long list of hotel rules with exact fines for each breach, like 50$ if listening to music without headphones at the pool. That's common sense anyway - it doesn't feel like good hospitality to threaten with fines at check-in.

Our room was very clean and the view of the Arenal volcano was amazing. It even spouted a bit of steam on the morning of our departure. The hot spring pool was hot and the waterfall was even hotter and provided a wonderful massage. The breakfast was delicious and very filling and the staff was wonderful.

The overall property was very simple and we felt that the price was higher than one would expect for the simple accommodations. One our first day we were the only people arond so the pools were private.

Our stay was AMAZING! We got what felt like one of the largest villas on the property. Our view of the Volcan Arenal was unobstructed. The A/C worked wonderfully and the room/bathroom was clean and modern. Since everyone has their own villa, there was no noise from other guests that we had to worry about. There are plenty of other hotels/resorts nearby and the location was pretty central to everything we got to see. Our Ubers were incredibly cheap since everything was so close. Staff was very attentive and helpful during our stay. Shoutout to Ryan our bartender - he was a great source of knowledge and recommendations for us! Overall excellent and we would definitely stay here again if we are ever in town! Great bang for our buck!

We paid for a room with a volcano view—and they didn’t disappoint. The room was small, but well-designed and comfortable, with large windows opening up to a gorgeous view of the Arenal Volcano. The pool area is also very nice, and on several occasions we had it entirely to ourselves, which made it feel extra relaxing.

The door locks are not very intuitive, as the key needs to be turned several times in both directions before anything happens. The room was missing a "please make up my room" sign, which would have been useful. The shower was functional, but could have been better in terms of water pressure and temperature stability. The lighting in the room was generally sufficient, but could be improved—especially the reading light, which was too weak for comfortable reading in the evening.

Location is peaceful and green. Staff were exceptionally helpful and responsive. Breakfast was beautiful and delicious. Pool area is lovely. Tropical plants and flowers throughout. Amazing view of Arenal Volcano.

While the bed was large, king size, the room itself wasn't much bigger. There were shelves to store our things in the room, but nowhere in the small bathroom to put anything, or place to sit in the room. The lighting in the bathroom is quite dark and the mirror is in your shadow. Nice rain shower though! The AC unit in our room was quite loud. They fixed it once but it went back to making quit a bit of noise. The parking area is in serious need of gravel fill. There are large drops offs from concrete that could damage a car.

If you’re looking for a place where nature and comfort come together—with a story that’s just as rich as the landscape—Miradas Arenal Hotel & Hot Springs is the kind of spot you’ll carry with you long after check-out. Tucked into the rolling green hills near La Fortuna, this small, family-run hotel offers 11 cozy bungalows, a pool, a pop-up restaurant, lush tropical gardens, and best of all—naturally-fed hot springs. But the magic here isn’t just in the views or the healing waters. It’s in the story behind it all. Back in 1981, a 17-year-old Roberto Miranda was fishing in the wild rapids of the Arenal River when hot spring water surged unexpectedly over his body. It was a moment he never forgot. Years later, after marrying Estrella Ovares and building a life rooted in hard work, farming, and family, Roberto finally saw that same thermal water resurface—this time, in the land they owned. In 2017—31 years after that first encounter—the waters rose 840 feet up through the canyon and into the pools that now flow through Hotel Miradas Arenal. Today, guests get to soak in that same water while surrounded by the lush beauty of their working dairy farm. It’s a place where sustainability isn’t a trend—it’s a lifestyle. Fruit trees line the garden paths, birds are everywhere, and the family still takes part in daily farm life. You might even get to taste their homemade dairy products at breakfast. We stayed in the standard bungalow with a view of the volcano—though it was covered by fog and clouds during our visit. Still, like God or the universe, I knew the volcano was there, even though I couldn’t see it. The bed was beyond comfortable, and the blanket was absolutely divine—soft, cozy, and it smelled wonderful. My daughter almost missed breakfast because she was so snug and cuddled up in it that morning.

The property was actually nicer than we thought based on the pictures shown. We lucked out with a cottage at the top of the hill with a magnificent view from the room, deck and shower(!) straight across at Arenal. The room decor was modern and very clean, and the landscaping was beautiful to look at and well done. One of the on-site pools was hot spring-fed and featured a fun swim-up bar. Breakfast was served on a large terrace also with a view of the volcano. Very pleasant stay overall.

The sliding entry door to our unit was very difficult to operate, and when we notified staff of the issue, they seemed unconcerned. We also asked for coffee filters for the in-room machine, but never received. Additionally, the water supply was cut off to the property on both days of our stay due to roadwork, but we were not notified in advance, which was an inconvenience.

Majestic view of the Arenal Volcano. Pool area was beautiful and had a thermo pool connected which was great for a swim in the warm water with a small water fall to sooth your pains from the day of hiking and rafting. The free breakfast was really good each morning next to the pool. Big clean private cabin in a jungle setting and still close to the main road and the town of Fortuna. Lots of things to do close by in both directions. The waterfalls, warm water river, and the volcano were all spectacular! Arenal Whitewater rafting is a mind blowing experience and a must do. Don't worry it is very safe even though you will be screaming like you are a kid on a roller coaster.

It was all great!

we liked that we could saw directly to the mountain! the place was almost empty so we had the staff attentions all the time and the pool and thermal water all to us. Thanks to the tons of plants that where in the property there where lots of birds around, and it's precious to see them eat, come and go.

The thermal waters are not what we expected, we thought it was a natural pool, it smelled a bit but I think that's natural and it's fine. It looked like a dirty man-made pool. In the place that we were, the bathroom was looking at the bar so I thought that anyone could look inside at the night if it had ill intentions. At some time the smell of cow poop and septic water reek a lot around the property, it might be uncomfortable for some, but to be honest, all of La Fortuna area reeks of septic water for some reason that I don't know. The hotel uses hard water, it might be a little cornering for some people so I write this just in case. the entrance is full of potholes and it's not asphalted, it's gravel all over combined with a graduated slope.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The room was perfectly sized, with an amazing view of the volcano. The pool and thermal springs were fantastic to have near the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Considering the price, we would highly recommend this hotel.

The food options for vegans weren't fantastic, although they were very helpful at sorting something out for us. The breakfast could also be slightly improved, but this didn't impact our stay at all.
