It was the best hotel during my entire trip. Some improvements and comments (see below) did not affect the overall rating and I would gladly stay there again. I loved the nature around the hotel which is well taken care of, you can clearly see great work of gardener. Also, taking care of animals (e.g. feeding birds) is a nice practice. The views to the volcano are amazing. Hot springs were the highlights of my staying - clear and warm water surrounded by lush green nature and flowers. I do not know if the hotel was full or not but there were always plenty of sun beds and spots in the hot springs. People also seem to respect the place as there is no noise. The lady who worked at the bar was extremely nice and helpful and she made the best cocktails (not sure the name Maya, or Maria?). She also helped me to spot the sloth near by. You could clearly see she enjoyed her work. The room was very spacious and clean with all required amenities. Extra point for availability of repellent. The staff at the reception and restaurant was very friendly and helpful. As a customer you get a nice gift - a hotel bag. I can definitely recommend Hotel El Silencio del Campo.

1. For this class of the hotel, breakfast is a bit limited and not varied. 2. In the world of data security and fraud, copying credit card details is not a good practice (there are other ways e.g. preauthorisation on the card) 3. Small improvement - when a glass of wine is ordered, the wine should be poured directly in front of the client - this will give a chance to see the bottle and type of wine that was ordered. Bringing a glass of wine directly to the table tells me nothing about the wine. Ideally, first you should give a sip to allow tasting, before the glass is filled.

The hot springs were amazing and very relaxing, food was great (we ate at the restaurant or pool bar most nights), cabins were very nice and cute, farm was fun. It was a little oasis. Great for small kids with the playground, farm, and warm pools! Staff was so nice, helpful, responsive, and welcoming. Short drive to downtown La Fortuna. We would definitely return.

Fully understandable being in the jungle - bats were living in the wall of our cabin (there was a missing exterior trim piece) and squeaking all night. Staff was very responsive and quickly worked to fix the issue. Part of the fix was a very strong smelling (but nontoxic) oily spray that could cause headaches and nausea - we have a one year old and I’m pregnant so we requested a new room and they let us switch cabins. It did leave a bit of a smell in some of our belongings as well. The only thing they could’ve done better was asked before spraying because we may have chosen to put up with the bats for one more night or move our belongings out/swap rooms first if that was an option. Overall they did great and it didn’t ruin our stay!

Great location with easy access to La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano but removed from the touristy hustle and bustle. Lovely grounds, pools, and rooms, with beautiful views throughout the property. Perfect spot for a family stay and home base for adventuring. We enjoyed our own hot springs pool each evening of our stay. Breakfast was decent, but a little bit more variety would have been appreciated for an extended stay.

Our room could have used more towel hooks and places to hang items. With frequent visit to the pools we were lacking places to hang our swim suits and towels to allow them to dry. Wi-Fi worked ok, but there were several times when we were connect but had no bandwidth requiring the staff to have to reset the routers.

Beautiful property but the front desk staff were beyond fabulous! We arrived with a broken windshield and stressed because we don’t speak Spanish so they immediately translated texts with the car rental and called them for us to set in motion getting a new car. They texted us when car arrived. They found us at pools when insurance person arrived. They gave us directions to Claro in town, booked tours for us, and showed us WhatsApp shortcut. We so appreciate all their help!!!

This place is a paradise! The grounds are absolutely stunning and the hot springs are soothing and gorgeous. We loved our room and the whole property is so clean and inviting. We loved visiting the farm and all the animals. The peacocks were so fun to watch. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Th restaurant onsite was delicious. One night, we had food delivered to the hot springs area. There’s a great bar there also. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order.

We had a fantastic time at Hotel El Silencio del Campo. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The grounds are beautifully maintained, featuring lush gardens filled with birds. Every morning felt like a mini birdwatching session, as we enjoyed watching numerous birds—and even a curious squirrel—visit the restaurant during breakfast. The on-site farm was a lovely place to explore, adding a unique local charm to our stay. We also appreciated the on-site restaurant, which offered different menus each evening. On the days we didn’t feel like venturing out, it was the perfect spot to enjoy a delicious and relaxing dinner right on the property. The natural hot springs were an excellent bonus—peaceful and rejuvenating. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to unwind in nature with warm hospitality!

This is an amazing place! The chalet is beautiful, clean and spacious. We had a fabilous view of the Arenal vulcano from our window and terrace. Chalets are surrounded by a beautiful garden where different wild and farm animals roam around. There was also a sloth living on a tree there. The little farm they have is extremely well maintained and you can try milking the cow and collecting eggs every morning. Animals seem very well cared for. The hot springs are gorgeous, the place makes you feel like you are in paradise. We highly recommend this place!

Everything was just perfect! The staff, animals, location, hot springs, food. We travelled with our 3 kids. Perfect spot for them also- in the check in the staff told all information about horse riding, collecting the eggs and when children can milk the cow. It was such a good experience for them, and for us also. Ps! We loved the omlette in the mornings, really good. All was clean and correct, the prices were acceptable, not overkilled. Ex. milksahkes, coctails and food- all was affordable on the site😊 We are gonna miss you guys and definitely when we are coming back to Costa Rica, we are 110% coming back to you. Thank you! Beautiful property with bungalows situated throughout giving each unit privacy. The staff were gracious in helping us locate the resident sloth and sharing information about her as well as showing us around the garden. The hot springs were well maintained, clean, and not busy, you could always find your own pool to relax. Nice breakfast options and we ate at the cabana by the hot springs where there was good food and good service.

We didn't have any instructions about arriving after hours when the gate was closed, and it took a few minutes to work that out. But a very minor blip in an otherwise wonderful stay!

I loved the various hot springs that were present at the property. Because there were so many on the property, we decided to not pay to visit any of the nearby hot springs (win-win!). We spent every morning at the farm because we loved the animals so much! Antonio (I think was his name) also showed us where the sloths were on the property which I thought was so kind of him to do. We also toured the whole medicinal and food garden with a gentleman who I believe takes care of it all (but forgot his name). He was so kind and I helped translate everything he said into English for my friends/family. It is absolutely amazing the amount of plants and animals they have at the property. It truly made our experience 100% better! Every staff member we interacted with was so kind and helpful. The rooms were extremely clean and all utilities worked perfectly (A/C, TV, minifridge, etc). This will be the 4th property I have stayed at in the Arenal/La Fortuna area and it is now my favorite!! Gracias por todo, pura vida!! 🤙🏼💜
