We were attending Lollapollooza so this was in an excellent location for that - just 3 stops from the Olympic Stadium on the S9. The S9 runs to Spandau from the airport via the main tourist spots such as Alexanderplatz - so again a good place to say though it takes about 40 mins to get to central Berlin and 1hr 20mins to get to the airport. The hotel is next door to a big shopping centre with lots of food outlets so easy to find something to eat. I would describe the rooms as functional and quiet. We didn’t eat at the property so cannot comment on food provision. The bar had a limited amount of drinks - no red wine when we asked. The staff were fine though when we asked for extra pillows (they only provide one very squishy and not very supportive pillow per guest) it came across that they were slightly annoyed to accommodate our request - but maybe the person had had a bad day.

I hate having to walk through clouds of cigarette smoke to enter the building. Whilst this appears to be the norm in Germany, it seemed particularly bad on the days we were there - perhaps due to the hotel being so close to the shopping centre - but it was so bad it made our clothes smell and the lobby smelt of cigarette smoke too which I really don’t like. I wish they would move designated smoking areas a little further from main entrances in such circumstances.

The hotel is an IBIS hotel, so you can find nice prices for a nice product (excelent product/price relationship).

What i found to be totally bad was the air conditioning. I went during a week where the sun was really hard and the room was hot inside. THere was no AC because it was set up in HEATING MODE. Totally crazy and i could not sleep well for two nights because of the heat. I found that very ugly because they say (in booking) they have AC, and that is not totally true (they have it only in summer).

I went to Berlin to watch a EURO2024 game in the Olympic Stadium. I traveled by train, hence I was looking for a which is located close to a long distance train station as well as to the stadium. The IBIS Spandau is perfectly located at Spandau Station. The hotel offers good value for money. Although I booked very late the price was still OK even with EURO2024 happening in Berlin. Other hotels marked up their prices significantly, IBIS was still reasonable. The room was typical IBIS standard, simple but comfortable. The breakfast had a very good selection, including fresh made waffles. Strong recommendation from my side.

For one or two nights the hotel is perfect. For a longer time, the rooms are a bit small, however they would be also more expensive.

location is excellent i have heard the breakfast is excellent but i don't eat breakfast so i didn't try it the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and providing extra pillows etc

the design of the carpet is very strange, it looks stained and dirty even if it isn't the bathroom is tiny which means the location of the toilet roll is awkward

Room was as expected, clean not particularly big, most of the reception staff were helpful and pleasant but not all! Plenty of facilites very close by, convenient location for public transport.

Expensive for what we got, very small bathroom, parking a problem as the car park closed at 1am! ( not property of the hotel ), very expensive breakfast. The area outside the hotel that was often frequented by homeless people and other suspect characters with social issues.

Warm welcome late at night. Really comfy bed. Great breakfast choice. Excellent location within walking distance of Zitadelle Spandau - reason for visit. And next to train station. Felt safe and relaxed.

I wanted to toast my bread at breakfast, but there wasn't a toaster. No tea/coffee making facilities in room (they have this in Ibis in UK). Little things that would improve stay, but not essential...I managed without! 😂

The hotel staff were lovely and very helpful. The hotel was in great location with Spandau train station just across the street and a shopping centre next to it.

The only down side was that our shower wasn’t as clean as it should have been. It would have been better to have had a clean shower that was obviously cleaned before our arrival. However, there were some hairs and fluff that was not from us.

this is example of good Ibis. They have the idea right. You want hotel where you somewhat know what to expect? we get you exactly that for decent money. Nice room, clean, with comfy bed. Plus it is directly on train, it has its own shopping mall. And its decently easy to park on streets if you dont want to use carpark in building. Very good choice for business travelling.

very hard to pick something.. all was fine. you can hear ambulance cars on street if I need to pick something.

We stayed over to go to Lollapalooza (and see J-Hope). It was very convenient and close to the Olympiastadion / park. It was a bit further from the Airport and Berlin itself but that was expected and wasn’t the reason we booked this specific hotel. Staff was nice, rooms were clean and neat.

The staff were helpful especially the night check in man who gave me some useful advice, sorry I forgot his name. The cheap beer in the kiosk ( open 24 hours) due to corona the bar was shut ( pity it looked OK ) The proximity to the main rail station only 8 minutes walk which is good for us old pensioners 72 & 83.We have stopped in the IBIS hotel in Coventry a few times,it is a good chain with good standards,you pay a little more but get the best so it is worth it.

Being on the main street the 112 cars were busy.That is no fault of the hotel ,however perhaps another layer of double glazing would help ?
