Rummana suite was the best! So spacious, clean, and interiors were beautiful! It’s also just a few steps away from the pool and beach, so that we had a picturesque view all the time. Although quite far from the reception but that’s what you get if you want the pool and beachfront room. Staff were also friendly and easy to communicate with - very responsive to our queries even before the start of the trip. Most responsive in all of the hotels we’ve stayed in. Overall, a memorable trip and definitely a fave!

Absolutely loved our stay @ Rummana. Such a beautiful beachside resort within walking distance to the centre of Lamai, but far enough away to enjoy some tranquility and peace. The resort is set in gorgeous, well designed tropical gardens with fish filled ponds along pathways traversing around private villas. From the moment you walk in, you’re filled with a sense of calm. It’s the wonderful Rummana staff that make this resort truly special. Could not fault the service. Warm welcomes, exceptional hospitality and just genuinely friendly people that make you feel like you’re a part of the family. The individual villas are private, well maintained, clean and super comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. A small, but good selection catering to all tastes. Dinner was delicious for the Thai dishes. We didn’t try the western dishes so cannot comment on these. Cocktails and cold beer are at a competitive price (especially given it’s a resort). An easy beach walk into Lamai if you want to try different restaurants or bars (including some cool bars along the beach). Also found some good Thai restaurants in the local area (within a 5 minute walk of the resort). Tops and 7-11 very close by. Location (for us) was perfect and the resort was a great base to explore Samui. Car and motorbike hire available directly through the resort. Would definitely recommend Rummana to anyone looking for a relaxed ‘home away from home’, right on the beach and close enough to the centre of Lamai without being in the hustle. We loved it!

Fantastic stay. We really enjoyed our 6 nights here. Even for the price which i thought was a little high. However the place was superb. Check in was super efficient, with welcome drinks. Only slight niggle was payment is requested before you see the room. However we were not disappointed. Reception space is nice and big, open plan and with a pond flowing through with huge fish. The pond-ways continue down a jungle style path to the rooms which are all individual chalets/huts. From reception to the beach its probably about 100mtrs but its a lovely calming walk. You would have no idea that you are not too far from a main road. I think the location was great. Our room was well appointed and a great size with a single sofa bed as well as a large double. AC Mini fridge and kettle with tea/coffee. Wifi was not so good. Wifi was better at the beachside restaurant and also in reception. Bathroom was massive with a huge walk in shower with a good shower with decent pressure and hot water. Room was serviced daily and we had fresh towels each day. There's also a small hotel guide with some info in it. Reception also has a tour desk for excursions and bike hire. We hired a scooter down the road for cheaper than 250 THB per day hotel price. Nice touch with complimentary bottled water each day. There's also a phone in the rooms too, if you need reception. There's also a safe in the room, but maybe not bolted down! My favourite was the really well maintained gardens. So peaceful and calming, lovely to walk through and shaded. The restaurant was beach front, we only used it for breakfast which was buffet style with an egg station. There's plenty of fresh fruit breads and pastries. The beach was narrow but nice. Each day the hotel staff cleaned the beach, sweeping rubbish which was great.

Only slight niggle was payment is requested before you see the room. The kettle was not an auto switch off which was annoying. There should have been slippers supplied to go with the bath robes. Safe was not bolted down in the wardrobe. Some of the breakfast items were low quality - bacon and sausages. Tea and coffee was grim.

The location, access to the beach, staff are super helpful, and was great value for money. Individual villas set in lush, tropical setting with ponds full with fish and water lillies, provides privacy and invites you to relax and enjoy your stay in paradise.

Management need to invest in the infastructure, beyond basic maintenance otherwise it will age quickly, noting it is already looking tired. The staff do an incredible job to present the resort at its best.

Lovely cottages, very clean, beautiful gardens. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Nice restaurant with really good food, bar and pool area right on the beach. Really good restaurant just across the road, the Lucky Elephant, it had great food and friendly staff.

Not much. If you are in a cottage near the restaurant you'll have a fair walk to reception/entrance and vice versa so something to bear in mind if you're less mobile. It's a taxi ride into Lamai centre but there are a few good restaurants nearby.

Great resort with very private "houses", good pool, good size rooms (houses), quality services. You can find some good food shops in near area. Massage shop on the beach, next door resort.

Location: is in far side of Lamai, maybe 20 min walk to the main area of Lamai beach. Water in front of resort have rocks. Breakfast not vary too much in 7 days. Internet not always reliable. No complimentary sport facilities (only some snorkeling kit, not kayaking or SUP)

We stayed for one night. The room was very clean and quite comfortable, with a nice, large bathroom. Two bottles of water for free, beach towels are provided by the pool and can be changed. The staff are very nice, smiling and trying to make your stay better. You can feel the genuine friendliness. The reception helped with a taxi and with checking in two hours early (just fantastic!). There is a beach, but during our stay there were waves and wind. People were swimming, but we did not risk it. There are sunbeds on the beach, but without an umbrella. In general, it is ok, since the sunbeds with an umbrella are located by the pool 10 meters away. There are a lot of useful places around, restaurants, 7-11, and a big stores. There are all kinds of massages nearby (if you know what I mean ;)). Overall, I can recommend it. I give it another plus point for the kittens on the property and the beautiful fish along the path in the ponds.

At breakfast, espresso is only available for an extra fee. And it's not tasty. The omelette was oversalted and even after asking to make a second one without salt it was still too salty. Some of the umbrellas near the sun loungers by the pool are not stable. When one of them fell on my wife, no one from the staff helped her. At night, walking along the path along the buildings can be uncomfortable; I didn’t have enough light.

Convenience of location of pool/beach and restaurant to my room. walking distance to Lamai Beach and all it had to offer. The locals were always helpful and friendly.

Food selections for both breakfast and dinner, were lacking in minor ways for European diners, as items could be identified and things like condiments could be more accessible.

Beautiful hotel right on the beach. Each of the rooms separated by a walkway through jungle planting. A quiet location away from the main Lamai town.

The sea in this area was very rough while we were there, other areas of the beach and other beaches were calmer and more protected. Was a good half an hour walk either along the beach or on a main road to reach the shopping and restaurant area. But plenty of Songtaws going past to give you a lift back later.

The rooms are very spacious and clean. Every day they leave you water bottles. We did the laundry service and it was very efficient and good. The staff were always so nice and helpful. The pool is also in good condition and we spent most days out there. We also got a massage and the hotel which was so incredible. Walking distance to some great restaurants and a 7/11 nearby. Staying in a private bungalow was nice for privacy and I would stay again.

Only downside is the beach is not super clean but you find that in most of all ko samui and isn’t the fault of the hotel. Water is nice on a good weather day.
