The pool, the clean rooms

There was no soap at the bathroom sink. There was some body wash in the shower, but there could’ve been a bar of soap at the bathroom sink. Also, I wasn’t real happy about having to pay $15 to park my car next to my room. I’ve never had to do that before. We found out later that you can park free next-door after you unload your car near your room, but that should’ve been told to us at the desk when we signed in. But overall it was good.

I liked the location.

I didn't like that I wasn't informed that parking was an additional fee before I arrived.

I enjoyed hanging out at the pool with my child along with the other families. Americana 1950s family vacation vibes were alive and well at the Kings Inn during our recent visit. It reminded us of those golden-era road trips—simple pleasures, neon signs, lawn chairs by the pool, and the kind of charm that’s hard to find these days. A hidden gem for anyone craving a little slice of the past. The convenience of having a fridge in the room was nice as well. We were able to put things in to keep cool before we packed it in our lunch bags for a day outing. The convenience of having the waffle spot there was so handy. We were able to pop in and we were seated quickly, food was yummy, service was great!

I didn’t like the fact that I had to pay an additional fee for parking. To be honest if I would have known the parking wasn’t included I would have chosen another option. I don’t think it was advertised in the booking website either, which also makes it more disappointing. Other than that I enjoyed everything else.

As a family of 3 the room with 2 beds was great for us. It was great to have the pool and the available parking. While there is no breakfast available, it is nice to have options so close by, integrated in the hotel area.

No real complains, but small comments: - The table in the room was very small, so we could not enjoy any leftovers food in the room. - Every morning we were woken up by the people walking by (and talking)

We have stayed a few times now and love the location and pool amenities. We didn’t get to use the pool and hot tub this time as we mainly were staying just for the evening and the weather was cooler the day of check out. We like that there are two restaurants and the price of stay is usually very affordable in comparison to other motels.

We had to pay for two vehicles to park since my husband met my daughter and I there after work. $30 to park our vehicles for a one night stay was a little upsetting. Especially since we didn’t get that memo till after we had booked. if you add that to the overall motel price it definitely makes you think if other options are cheaper with that extra charge added on.

The hotel was a bit older but everything worked well. There were people all over working on maintenance and cleaning everyday. The facility was well maintained. The tv had a huge selection also. Everyone working there was friendly, polite and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed . It was easy to get around the city from the hotel and close to Old Town. The motel stowed our luggage when we got there early before check in time. They also accommodated us with a ground floor room. The refrigerator was larger than the usual cube sized one and worked great. Didn’t use the large pool but the area was fabulous, with a hot tub and another sitting area that was covered allowing you to be out of the sun if you wanted and still enjoy the weather.

My preference was for a firmer bed for my back and I only could get one bar on my cell phone service. I don’t think that is the fault of the hotel.

Hotel Circle to Fashion Valley is a very easy 25 minute walk, with a couple of restaurants on the way. The staff were nice and friendly; having a breakfast place as well as some place for dinner was good. Food is far more than ample. You will get HUGE servings. My particular room was quiet -- even though I was near the freeway. The price you pay is good value for S.D.

The only thing for me was that every now and again a pipe or something would make a strange knocking noise for a few minutes, but then it would subside. But honestly there's really nothing to complain about.

Let’s face it. This isn’t a 50 story on the water property. It’s inexpensive clean extremely accessible fun property, especially for kids. There’s no drama. I’ve been staying there since the 90s and the linens and towels may not come pressed and steamed on a big giant truck. They’re done in house, which makes it even nicer, I’ll continue to stay at the kings inn for all my future visits to San Diego until I can finally move there.

For some reason, our room had a very sewer like odor. Every time we used either the sink to brush our teeth or the toilet or the shower. I’m glad I brought my own bottled water and my own coffee pot, which I normally do, but that is definitely something to look into because it may be related to the recent flood activity you guys had, don’t know, but I do know this was pretty bad and me and my best friend make it down here every year for summer for a week and we were looking at each other like we had the runs or something. It was pretty bad and I don’t think it was limited to just our room.

This is an older style motel that is kept in excellent condition. Checking in and out was friendly and efficient. Parking is convenient. Rooms are large, comforable, impeccably clean with good climate control. The location on San Diego's "Hotel Circle" is reasonably convenient to restaurants and attractions. The property is really well maintained with amazing attention to detail. The on-site restaurant is good for breakfast. This is a very good place to stay in San Diego at a reasonable price.

I wish I didn't have to pay $15 for parking. Other than that, there wasn't anything I disliked.
