I cannot say enough about the warm welcome we received at this hotel. The staff were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. They were very accommodating with our small dog and they have areas where you can eat accompanied by the dog. The breakfast was good and the room was large with excellent bathroom facilities. On weekends they supply a pancake making machine at the breakfast buffet, which was a nice change. All areas of the hotel are spotlessly clean. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided in the room and there is an area in reception to pick up tea, coffee, milk, to replenish as often as you require. Everyone there was so kind!

The staff at Newport Holiday Inn were excellent, friendly approachable and helpful. We had occasion to complain about our room, and meals and staff went above and beyond to make it right. They were brilliant. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was buffet style, and selection was great, everything you need to set you up for the day. The location was great for us, and we were attending a convention at the ICC just across the road. We would book again, but next time just bed and breakfast.

We booked half board bed and breakfast. Evening meal allowed you £25 per person any more and you needed to pay extra, which we were not made aware of when we booked. Prices a little high ranging from £19 to £24 and a surcharge of £5 extra if you ordered a steak, also something that we were not aware of until ordering. This was for mains, so if booking half board be prepared to pay extra for starter's or desserts, The price averaged at around £7 each. Meals we're very average not fresh but precooked or frozen, and the description on the menu was not accurate, eg.(.comes with green vegetables), this turned out to be a small portion of peas. The Seabass advertised was not seabass it was Bassa fillet, a complete different fish entirely. So overall, I'm very disappointed.

Close to motorway junction without excessive traffic noise. Easy to find. Free, secure, on-site parking. On-site bar/restaurant. Bar open 24hrs. Staff courteous, friendly and extremely helpful. Excellent choice for breakfast buffet, cooked and continental. Food in restaurant good too.

Having to leave! The younger guests that arrived as part of organised coach parties, need some lessons in hotel etiquette and respect for other guests, especially where noise in rooms and corridors are concerned.

Very good experience. Quick check in by friendly staff. Lovely room and comfy beds. First night in 309 was great. Second night very nosey family in 311 (connecting door). Not the hotels fault but kids were out of control in room and up and down corridor. Breakfast better than expected and exceeded what I remember from trips to Holiday Inn Express in Exeter in past. Think staff should advise about busy breakfast times. Early Sunday and Monday was fine but by 9am people were having to sit at tables in bar area Big dog lovers but not sure even I would want my dog at these bar tables during breakfast service. Noticed car window glass in car park so assume there is car crime there. May be good for staff to advise of this. As soon as I saw glass I moved car in line with front doors and took all items off display.. Would 100% stay here again. Great hotel and ideal for M4 bit without road noise

Hard to say. If pressed for an answer I would say that not so many staff chatting at breakfast check in podium while just one lady did all the table clean downs. Very minor niggle

The location was excellent with easy access to the motorway, city centre, and amenities such as the Garerth Thomas Cycling Centre. Not forgetting the close proximity to Wales' capital city, Cardiff. We we're pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. Slightly limited/basic cooked choice (scrambled egg, bacon, sausage, beans & fried tomato), but far more than the expected continental breakfast. What's more, the food was plentiful, of good quality and cooked well, although it could have been warner. Ample free parking.

The only fault, very little/awkward storage for clothes, etc, in our room, although it was spacious. We were there a few days, and there was very limited space to hang clothes, etc, to keep them from creasing.

The hotel is easy to find, spotlessly clean and the reception staff are very friendly and most helpful. This is particularly important being a disabled person travelling alone.

No real dislikes … the air conditioning unit was a little noisy but that me being critical. One small ‘niggle’ is the fact that it’s a buffet breakfast makes it difficult for a disabled person, carrying a plate/tea cup and walking with crutches is tricky at best. A member of staff ‘eventually’ offers help but that was after I’d struggled to the nearest table. Perhaps knowing you have a disabled guest an offer of assistance could be made on them entering the dinning room?! Apart from this ‘issue’ I would highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent value with breakfast included. Good sized room with decent furniture and clean. Breakfast was well stocked and decent quality. Car parking was free. Bar available with good range of beer. Ideal location for us having visited Tredegar House before our stay and heading to Cardiff for rugby the following day.

Would have liked a bath, very few new motel venues provide them these days - would prefer some rooms to have and others not so people can pick a preference. Not enough tea bags in room. Not much available around the hotel, we drove into Newport for some dinner, there is a new fangled pub next door, but not anything we would want to go to eat there.

The staff were exceptional. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Vicky and Owen who greeted us on arrival went above and beyond to help us when a restaurant cancelled a booking we had made for a large family lunch that day. Owen was determined to find us an alternative which amazingly he did at such short notice! Vicky kept us calm & helped by getting us early check in too. We loved the comfortable beds,great room facilities and lovely breakfast. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Maybe a bottle of water in the room would be nice but minor point as readily available in the reception area.

I stay at Holiday Inn express for 3 nights. From the reception, it was a warm welcome. The room was very clean, and I had breakfast for all 3 days. Breakfast was good. It had enough options for adults and kids. It was available hot and fresh. My partner and I enjoyed the experience overall for a holiday inn standard it delivered 💯💯 I would be staying again when I visit new port. I also think cos it's an IHG hotel that could be what made it really lovely.

I honestly didn't think of anything it was a good time there no faults atall.

Although it has been around for quite a few years, the hotel is smart, clean, and well maintained. Friendly staff starting with check-in. My bed was firm but comfy for my bad back, and there was with choice of pillows, firm or soft! Well designed bathroom with a shower that was brilliant. The room itself was pleasant with usual facilities including an ironing board and a hair drier. The wifi was very good. The breakfast was included in the price and it was reasonable. There is plenty of parking, but remember to register when checking in.. Good time for check out..1100 .
