The location

I really did not hope to get disappointed , but unfortunately I was disappointed with my recent stay at Hyatt House Downtown Atlanta. Although I had requested a late check-out a day in advance, someone still came knocking on the door at 1 PM asking why we were still in the room. That in itself was frustrating, but to make matters worse, I was charged twice for the late check-out. I called the hotel to report the issue and was assured that it would be corrected, but I’m still waiting on an updated folio and a refund. This kind of experience is not what I expect from a Hyatt property, and it certainly affected my overall impression of the stay.

Close proximity to aquarium, Olympic park, and dining. Safe location and very courteous staff! Breakfast was great each day with hot and continental options.

Upon arrival, we did not have enough towels for our party and shampoo and body wash were empty in shower. We requested these from the front desk and housekeeping delivered the towels and shampoo late that evening. The following day, housekeeping made the beds and took linens, but again did not replace enough for our party or replenish soap or shower gel. We requested these again but did not receive them. Breakfast options for those with gluten issues were available, but cross contamination was not well controlled for. Some prepackaged options for the really sensitive folks would be appreciated.

Location and staff. Security officer was top notch!!!! Can’t speak highly enough about him. He assisted with take out options and directions when front desk staff were busy with other customers and he was exceptional at keeping out unwanted guests while making everyone feel comfortable.

Price is a little high for age of hotel. Bathroom door didn’t lock )not a huge problem since it was family) but could be awkward if your in there and someone opens door. Faucet too close to back of sink making hand washing awkward too.

6th floor conner room, Great view of the Stadium and town, large space, separate bedroom from a living room, had a kitchenette. Bathroom was nice. Location was good, we walked everywhere we needed. Valet's were very nice and car came back to us the same as it left. Super nice ladies at the front counter. Breakfast was perfect (for a complimentary). We quite enjoyed looking out over the town sipping on some drinks. One of the better rooms I've ever stayed in. It was pricey, but all of them are downtown when a concert (Metallica) is in town. They were cheaper than most others.

The location was amazing, we mainly came to Atlanta to go to the aquarium, and it’s a quick 5-7 minute walk from the hotel. The drinks at the H bar were amazing, breakfast was great as well! The staff were great as well. The hotel is very secure, they either have to let you in, or you had to badge in. Great food around the hotel as well!

I personally didn’t know this because it doesn’t show it on booking.com, however the only parking that’s available is valet parking for $55 daily, or you can park up the street for $25 overnight, however the valet parking is fenced in, so your vehicle will be safe, the public parking is not. Booking.com does need to add this to the hotel description. Also, other than the room fees they do also charge you a $150 refundable deposit.

Breakfast exceeded my expectations; it gave me a great start for my day meaning that I often did not need to eat again until early evening. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to give information and assistance. The location was also convenient in terms of Uber pick-up, and I was able to walk to most of the attractions - Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola and the State Farm Arena.

A handle was missing from the bathroom door which was not ideal, and a bedroom mirror would have been a great addition to the room (4 of us shared a room). A kettle would also have been great since I am not a coffee drinker. Other than that, I have no other complaints.

The room was clean and comfortable. The location was great, next to the Aquarium and in the center of the city.

Probably, I could say about the breakfast which should have more choices, for example an omelette, cold cuts, tomatoes, mushrooms, fresh vegetables, etc Also, they charge you with $150 warranty at the first day, and they say that they return it back in 4-5 working days. Why? They should return the money while you are doing the check-out and not after 4-5 days.

The Hyatt House is conveniently located within walking distance to the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca Cola and Mercedes Benz Stadium. There are numerous places to eat within easy walking distance, but I did not feel comfortable walking to them after the sun went down. The king suite was roomy and included a very nice kitchenette and full-size refrigerator. The breakfast was great with scrambled eggs and potatoes provided every day with meat items that changed each day over our 4-day stay.

I did not like paying $45 a night for valet parking and our room on the 2nd floor faced traffic so it was noisy until past midnight for all days of our stay. Parking in Atlanta is expensive no matter where you go so I recommend walking to as many attractions close to the hotel as possible. This is one way to justify the parking charge.

The staff at this location was spectacular and helpful. It was close to so many popular tourist locations like the aquarium, Coca Cola museum, and the Civil rights museum. I love the set up of the rooms- separate bedroom for suite rooms with a separate kitchen and living area. The free breakfast was also delicious and had lots of options for my whole family to find something they liked.

I wish the pool had been heated. In my room the bedroom tv and phone didn’t work (not an issue for us though).

The parking costs
