Special building, not your typical hotel. Location is very central to old Lyon city, but access can get confusing as it's between multilevel structures of road and train station railways. No noise from outside, but you may hear a neighbor room if they get noisy or a child cries. Our room was bigger than what was filed on booking.com, the rooms in the corners of the building are bigger!

The gym facility is dull, although fairly equipped. The breakfast experience can be improved with more options and especially more personnel. We went there on a long weekend, the hotel was fairly crowded and the restaurant was understaffed for the breakfast, often lacking bowl, cups and cutleries, or certain food emptied, despite the staff running everywhere to catch up.

This hotel, formerly a chateau, is excellent and impeccably clean. During our month-long stay across various cities in France, this was the only hotel with very spacious rooms. The location was ideal for us as we had an early train to catch, and the hotel is conveniently located right opposite the train and bus stations (though finding the hotel from the bus station can be a bit confusing). However, from a location perspective, I would have preferred to stay near Bellecour Place, which is closer to the main high streets, restaurants, and Fourvière (Notre Dame Church). It's worth noting that there are many homeless people around the hotel, and the area can feel a bit rough after dark.

It’s Location an easy walk into the old town. Short walk to restaurants and bars, room size good our friends got upgraded as they had an issue with the key lock, the Privilege rooms were very spacious.

Whilst its access to the train station is good for many using trains it’s not very clear how to get from the hotel to Lyon centre! You have to use the tunnel it’s only a short walk but it is a place that is used by the homeless which I accept is not the hotels fault but does create a slight downside to its location!

The hotel location is close to the Grand Lines train that goes from Lyon to Paris and viceversa. I didn’t like the local metro, you have to walk beneath the overpass, through a tunnel to reach the Parrache Metro station. Because the main building is under construction

Breakfast was chaotic . Tables not laid properly so guests were taking cutlery from other tables . No extra cutlery to be seen so asked staff for a spoon and it took 5 minutes to bring one . Shortage of dishes and plates and items not being replenished quickly . Scrambled eggs, although tasty were cold even when replenished .

Late checkin was very useful and they allowed us late check out as we arrived very late. Room was big with lovely high ceilings and the Aircon was a godsend in the heatwave. Breakfast was easy and had lots of choice. Staff were friendly and a cot was provided as requested for our little one.

Bathroom shower was missing bottom guard so water went all over bathroom. Bathroom could have been cleaner. I had a late breakfast and some items had run out. Salad bar and bar area were advertised in our room so my partner skipped breakfast to get the salad bar lunch instead. Then when we asked about it at checkout we were told it didn't run on weekends so he had to go hungry! Open hours should be clearer. Bar also was not staffed when we visited at about 2pm.

The hotel is a lovely old building full of character and charm. The young waitress at the restaurant was wonderful, even though she was really busy. All of the staff were great. The rooms were great. The location is really handy to transport and a nice stroll along the river to the old quarter.

The location of the hotel was very good. We could easily discover the city of Lyon. Size of the room was nice and our son had his own place incl. TV, bed and private bathroom (with sink and toilet) in the same room. We also liked the historic French windows opening onto the balcony.

The Nespresso machine was not working and the room did not include a separate shower (only a bathtub in which you could shower).

Convenient to transport connections.

Ordered one of the only three listed cocktails during the Happy Hour to be told, when queried at Reception next morning, that the one I chose was not included in the discounted price that was advertised as applicable for all draught beers, cocktails, mocktails and soft drinks.
