Beautiful hotel with fantastic spa facilities. Staff were kind and friendly and the hotel felt luxurious.

Our room was absolutely tiny and very expensive! Wasn’t anywhere free to sit down and relax as the lounge was paid access for unlimited food.

Staff were absolutely lovely. The room is comfortable and quiet. We were given clean pyjamas each day which was delightful. The onsen is really the best part of this hotel - coming back to wash and soak in the onsen from bed really did help with the jetlag and the sore legs/feet from walking 30,000 steps per day. The location was great. It's on a side street with plenty of nearby restaurants, cafés, Family Mart. Found a perfect coffee spot 'Chumon-Baisen Mametora Akasaka' - roasted beans onsite. Highly recommend 'Ittenbari Ramen' too for dinner. Its situated in a perfect spot between Shibuya/Shinjuku and Ginza so really easy to get to places by train.

Rooms are on the small side. Small windows facing another building mean the room doesn't get alot of sunlight. That shouldn't be an issue though if you plan to be out of the room all day anyway.

Room was very clean and comfortable enough. There's space lacking for suitcases to be laid out but it slid comfortably underneath the beds when not needed. Room facilities were great, fresh towels and necessities were restocked/changed when requested. Loved the mist and jet function on the shower head in the bathroom. Never got to experience the baths but would definitely stay again and make more of an effort to experience the baths in the hotel. The terrace roof was really nice, great place to sit and chill with a drink for nice city views. Location was very ideal also, hotel is located on a lively part of Akasaka with many places within walking distance to explore. Great access to train stations too if you're wanting to head in the direction of Shibuya or Asakusa (approx 30-40mins on train).

No real complaints. The hotel and staff were lovely. The twin room we were given was right outside the lifts but didn't really have any issues with noise. The room was a bit small but dimensions described was accurate so to be expected.

We loved this hotel so much that we stayed twice, at the start and end of our trip. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is free water, tea and coffee which is a lifesaver before busy sight-seeing days. They have a nice indoor onsen with great hair oils. Akasaka is a very convenient location for travelling around Tokyo, as there are lots of small metro stations nearby; but since it’s not a bit tourist area, it’s cheaper and less busy than say Asakusa or Shibuya. There are still lots of good bars and restaurants close-by however. One night in the onsen there was a problematic guest, and the staff handled it really well. A woman was in the onsen with her phone and laptop and when we arrived another guest had already alerted the staff. They came quickly and made the woman put her devices away - this guest was pretty rude and audacious about it, talked back and argued with the staff member who remained very professional and assertive. Great to see and we were able to go into the onsen very promptly with our privacy respected.

We went to the lounge one night, it wasn’t really for us - the food and alcohol options were pretty limited, and we aren’t big eaters or drinkers so the price wasn’t amazing compared to what you’d get at nearby restaurants. However I can see how it would be great if you were really tired or sick or had kids or something. The view was really nice too.

Clean, modern, stylish -- with an excellent breakfast buffet that offered both western and Japanese menu options! The room was small but that is very typical for Tokyo, and the decorations were modern and nice-looking. The bathroom was clean and the shower was easy to use, and we enjoyed using the onsen as well. Perhaps the best part was its location -- easily walkable to a couple subway/train stations, and it's on a street that has a lively feeling with plenty of bars and restaurants, but it's not so wild/loud as certain other neighborhoods such as Shinjuku. The location felt like a happy medium, with some nightlife but still a bit of peace -- and easy to get from Akasaka to Shibuya and Shinjuku. For a budget price, it's hard to find much better than this. We were very pleased with our stay and will likely stay here again!

The mattress was a little firm for our taste, but again I believe that is typical in Tokyo.

Very modern and nice inside! Everything was super clean, small room but everything in Tokyo is small so I can’t fault it. Staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful! The location was amazing! 8-12min train ride to all the other major areas in Tokyo, like Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku etc. 6 min walk to the train station, modern coffee shop directly across the street and lots of lively bars and sushi restaurants on the same road! Check in and check out were super easy, even though we checked in at 10:30pm at night! Reception was always fully staffed (no matter how late at night) and greeted us everytime we came and went from the property. Hotel is located on a busy street with lots going on 24/7, would recommend if you are looking for that sort of holiday. We loved you hotel HILLARYS!!

Nothing to fault!

The neighborhood where Hotel Hillarys is at is perfect. We really got it because it was a decent price for the stay, but little did we know that we were around so many restaurants and stores. There were a lot of things to do in the area. We scrapped some of our plans to check out the hood.

The room was pretty tight. We tried to get one of the bigger rooms, yet it was still pretty small. If you have a lot of luggage (we had 4 bags at this point in our trip), would look into something bigger. Outside of the room size, there was no real things to not like.

We chose to stay for a 2nd time (last visit Jan 2023) as we found it very good for our needs. Its close to transport, lots of places to eat, lots of places for easy snacks Lawson, 7Eleven etc. The beds are super comfortable. The bathroom adequate and what to expect in a Tokyo hotel room. We actually walked from Tokyo Station to the property as it was a lovely afternoon and we passed by the Imperial Palace and external gardens. It took about 40 minutes and was a great experience. It shows you how close you are to central attractions.

This time the price was much higher but that is about the time of year.

Everything about this hotel is amazing. There is nothing the staff won't help with and the hotel is immaculate. The hotel housekeeping ladies are an absolute joy and are such a delight to be greeted by every morning. There is a rooftop lounge that opens up at 3pm until 12am, ¥2500 for nibbles and snacks and all you can drink, with amazing nighttime views of the city. Definitely worth the few times that we went. Breakfast was the highlight for me, I've never eaten so healthy and have now seen on board a few things that I ate whilst there. Pickled ginger, pickled plums and apricots and radishes with my eggs in the morning, washed down by two glasses of detox water. I felt so ready for the day!!! The location is the best, we were right smack in the middle of Akasaka, with so many subway lines to choose from to have amazing adventures and days out. As Akasaka is the historical part of Tokyo, we saw amazing shrines and history for the prefecture. Great places to eat and don't be put off if your Japanese is non existent, there's nothing that Google translate can't fix and find for you. I would recommend Sakura Sachs in Akasaka, great food and amazing service. Get there before 6pm, as it gets busy and reservations take precedence over walk in's. Definitely coming back to Japan, as there is so much to do and many places to stay. Everything was great and I felt so relaxed and looked after.

If I ever go to Tokyo again, I would definitely choose to stay here once more. The hotel is located in Akasaka, an elegant and charming area with easy access to everywhere via metro. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores nearby. The rooms are small, but that’s completely normal for Japan. Breakfast is quite good, and there's also a public bath — perfect for relaxing after a long day (and usually you have it all to yourself). Everything about the hotel — cleanliness, staff, facilities — was excellent
