The hotel doesn't have much in terms of facilities (no sauna, bath, onsen or the like and no restaurant either, it's breakfast only), but the room and the bed were the most comfortable ones out of all the hotels I stayed jn Japan. I don't even know why, but I got some really restful sleep there, which is the most important thing about a hotel. The smaller rooms they have (1 double bed) are absolutely perfect for a single person. For 2 people I can only recommend them if you're traveling very light, and even then it's probably better to take one of their bigger rooms. It's also located in such a way that you can walk to both Akihabara and Asakusa (or easily take the train) and you can get to Shibuya and shinjuku in 30 mins using only 1 train line, which was amazingly.

The Twin Room was very much sufficient for our needs. We were a family of 2 adults and 1 7-year old. Given that space may be tight for our luggage and there was no closet, the beds were so comfortable and all the nooks and crannies in the room were utilized with functionality. Location is also excellent. The bus station and nearest train station (Shin Okachimachi) is a 5-minute short walk away from the hotel and can be accessible via the quaint covered market street "Satake Shopping Street". This street is just behind the hotel and houses a local supermarket and several restaurants.

Worth the price. Friendly and helpful customer service, clean and good breakfast. The front desk is able to communicate in simple English which is good enough. They helped us to call taxi and send luggages to other hotel using local logistic service. The room size is acceptable for couple with 2 big luggages.

Traveller need to take note on the public transport metro stations located around. You may need to transit to another service line for some tourist hotspot or walk to Ueno Station.

Very clean room and bathroom. Bed and pillows were comfortable and the blinds made it nice and dark to sleep. Location is good, away from the crowds of Shinjuku or Shibuya, but easy access to multiple train stations to get around.

The room is small, we are a couple travelling with one medium sized suitcase and with the case open there was little room to move. If you plan on only using the room to sleep and not spend too much time there, it's not a problem though. There are only 2 washing machines in the laundry. After trying a couple of times to use them we gave up and went to the coin laundry down the street.

Super comfortable room and bed, with good lighting, USB ports, and various amenities in the room. I love the clean and accessible bathroom. Location is decent, it's in a quiet area near Ueno, located 3 mins walk next to Shin-Okachimachi station, which is a station with direct connections to the airport so it's quite convenient. Near so many konbinis.

While Shin-Okachimachi is a decent station, you will have to change line or walk more to nearby lines to get to most popular spots in town, which can increase your travel time by quite a bit.

Helpful and warm staff, they took care of our luggage. The rooms were clean, they had Japanese style e-bidets. The location is just between Senso-ji, Akihabara and Museums. You should also visit Artizon and Meiji Jingu. I love Japan, I'm still bowing to people around me for some reason.

They make guests write a review to give complimentary water and they put tiny portions to the breakfast dishes in the buffet and follow that tiny little area so carefully that I was embarrassed to take more to eat even though it was an open buffet. I'm 6foot3 and I need calories, I felt weird taking from the little food... (They replenish when the dish is over, but... you know... You don't want to be the one that finishes it...)

Location: Short walk from JR Ueno and JR Okachimachi and Keisei Ueno stations and by extension close to Ueno Park. Convenient if you are coming from Narita via Skyliner. There's also a many other stations in the area to get you to other parts of Tokyo. Next to Ameyoko, easy to get some shopping and food. Stay: I though the room size was adequate; photos give an accurate representation on the size. Laundry was self-service and instructions were given were good. At the time I stayed they offered bottles of water for 50 Yen, really missed this service from the other hotel stays during our trip as we kept buying bottled water at the conbini. Staff: Excellent service as usual from Japanese hospitality. Very helpful with arranging luggage delivery to our next hotel.

ICI HOTEL Ueno Shin Okachimachi is a brand new hotel, built in 2018 and being in the middle of everything: - train station, food shops, 24h chain restaurant SUKIYA, UENO food and traditional market within a few hundred meters - AKIHABARA anime & manga shopping center within 1 mile - ASASUKA market and shoping centre within 1 mile - the list can continue, you name it HOTEL STAFF is so nice and helpful cleaning rooms every day. Rooms are quite small for a family of parents and 1 child, however enough spacious for max 2 persons. MATTRESSES are very comfortable, good sleep, "good night". AIR CONDITIONING is working very well, each room is also equipped with an air humidification machine. WASHING MACHINE & DRYER at the 2nd floor, the staff is refilling every day the washing powder all you have to do is to put the clothes inside and to pay around 3 EUR for 1 wash. ALL IN ONE, this hotel is very good value for money, go for it. You can walk around for hours, even in the middle of the night with your kids, TOKYO is the safest place on earth. Vasile (ROMANIA)

Excellent staff - friendly, knowledgeable and helpful; Oedo line and Tsbuka express station under 5 minutes walk, 3 other stations in 10 minute range, including access to Yamanote line. Numerous convenience stores, childern parks and restaurants in the vicinity! The recharging switches and lighting switches right next to beds were very convenient.... WiFi was excellent!

No formal dining area where one could sit and eat food brought from outside. Room was tiny for 3, and price was definitely high for a place not in the middle of the town... despite being a comfortable, friendly and clean place, didn't cut it on money-for-value yardstick!

It was nice and clean and convenient location. The breakfast option is nice to have.

I thought it was funny they let you check out one hour later if you write up a review. We checked out on time and I am happy to write a review but I did not like the “if you want to check out one hour later write a review”. The rooms are very small and there is not a lot of space for suitcases and stuff. I would suggest to use the space above where they have the small refrigerator to put hooks so people can hang things up.
