The hotel is very close to both Trafalgar and Leicester Square. Consequently, top locations like the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery are just a short work. Westminster Abbey can be reached by foot within 10 to 15 minutes. At least three different underground stations are close by. If you like shopping: major shopping areas are in walking distance too. Our room was nice and quiet although being in a busy area. The bathroom was of sufficient space and the air condition very quiet. The breakfast buffet was quite nice (for a British hotel) and we enjoyed the very good service of Medina and her team while having breakfast.

Unfortunately, the breakfast buffet no longer provides for hash browns (as was the case when being 18 month earlier in this hotel). Except for this minor detail, we had no matter to complain about.

Thistle was great for our short stay in London. The room was clean and relatively spacious for UK standards. Bed was comfy and there were black out curtains. Air conditioner worked great. It was on a quiet street even though steps away from Trafalger square. We love the location. It was close to Trafalger square (right next to the National Portrait Gallery), Leister square, Chinatown and Westminster (10 min walk). It was convenient coming home then just stepping out for food. Plenty of options. Chinatown was open until midnight-1am! Breakfast was great! English breakfast everyday plus cereals, fruit, juices and coffees.

Bathrooms could use a little updating. Shower head sprayed water outside of the shower.

The hotel was located near Leicester Square and you can get around anywhere in no time. The room was spacious and and clean. Just wish there was a coffee table to put your stuff.

Overall it was great apart from one particular male staff. The hotel was kind enough to keep our luggage after check out but since our flight will be 5pm we asked if they can hold onto our bags until 2pm and we will come back to collect it. When we came back at the hotel we asked the front desk staff if we can use the toilet before we head off and he was like “are you a customer here?”. We just literally collected our bags no way he couldn’t remember our faces. I know we are no longer customers but my husband asked nicely. His remark was very rude though.

Location and it’s proximity to Leicester Square, Piccadilly. Close to underground stations and plenty of restaurants. It’s also nice and quiet even though you are close to lively Leicester Square it is located in a good position to avoid noise.

Pillows were uncomfortable and hard to sleep on, didn’t feel of good quality. Temps in the room fluctuated quite a good even though AC was switched on, first night was very warm and second night very cold, even though we didn’t touch the thermostat.

We liked the room we had with an interesting view of roof tops. The location was excellent for us. The staff were very friendly an helpful. We asked if we could have a twin bedded room rather than a double room as my partner sleeps rather badly and the manager took considerable trouble to make that possible for which we were very grateful.

The breakfast room was rather 'spartan' looking and plain. There was quite a good choice of food but it was a bit tepid and the bacon was sometimes a bit overcooked

It's the 4th time I stayed in this hotel. The location is perfect as it is exactly in Central London and all interesting venues are just a few meters away. The room was large (by London's standards) and the double bed was enormous and comfortable. Breakfast is good and staff is very welcoming as well. Highly recommended

I always say this when I stay here. I cannot have a cappuccino with other than normal full milk. I am allergic to it but the hotel does not offer alternatives with different milks. Also, lifts are a bit slow, so on busy afternoons you have to wait a bit to go up to your room.

The room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped with tea, coffee, and biscuits, as well as a Nespresso machine, mini fridge, hairdryer, TV, and plenty of plug/USB sockets. The bathroom was spacious too, with a walk in shower and hair/shower gel products. Both the room and bathroom were very clean. We asked for a late check out and the gentleman on reception was very accommodating and made no additional charge for a couple of extra hours. Superb location, right on the edge of Trafalgar Square. Would definitely stay again.

The room was very warm and although we put the air con on, it didn't seem to cool down very much. We couldn't leave the window open as although the location is excellent for central London and sightseeing, it's very noisy with people passing by late at night, so would have been too difficult to sleep.

My best friend and I stayed the night as a special 60th birthday treat for her. I had notified them of the celebration and the manager was fabulous. We were upgraded to a superior room, there was Prosecco on ice and balloons in the room. We were also given a late checkout and free breakfast as well. It made our stay extra special and my friend felt really special. The room was big and the beds were so comfy. It was a real treat staying here.

The only thing I can say is that it could do with better lighting in the bathroom for putting on make-up.

Spacious comfortable room. We have stayed at 3 Thistle properties in London. They have all been excellent. The Trafalgar Thistle was in a great location and felt safe and clean. Property is convenient to Trafalgar Square, Picadilly Circus and Leicester Square. A 10 minute walk to Covent Garden.

Had some difficulty with green policies. We support green efforts and usually use our towels 2 to 3 days before requesting new ones. This particular room did not have a heating rack in the bath which made getting the towels dry impossible Additionally, when we requested more bottles of drinking water we were told that because we put the green tag on our outside door, we could not request more water. Having drinkable water is not an option. So off came the green tag. Clearer notes would be helpful on the green initiatives at this hotel. Would still recommend this hotel and we would stay here again!
