The hotel is a lovely traditional building in a great part of Biarritz. From the moment we arrived, the staff (this is a family run hotel) were polite, friendly and helpful. Our room was large and comfortable and the beautiful little garden was a calm and green oasis. The location is brilliant- a few minutes walk from Plage du Miramar- and a short few steps from bus stops in either direction. There is a ‘foodie’ area just around the corner with delis, cafes and bars which sell a range of delicious treats. This is called St Charles…I think. We loved the patisserie there and called on the way to the beach for gorgeous savoury and sweet items. Breakfast at the hotel offers a good range of savoury and sweet choices - eggs, ham, cheese, fresh bread, croissants, local cakes, pancakes, cereal, fruit etc etc. Breakfast is very relaxed- you can sit as long as you like and help yourself to hot drinks and food. It’s also lovely to eat in the garden and staff offer a tray to take items to the table. We loved the fact it was a nice stroll into town and was situated well for exploring in either direction- up to the lighthouse or across into town and beyond. Biarritz was amazing - with stunning beaches, beautiful villas around every corner and a much more friendly and chilled out feel than we were expecting. There are so many different places to stop for drinks or food- some traditionally basque/ French and some serving cuisine from around the world. We explored Biarritz on foot - covering an average of 20000 steps each day. The climate was fabulous and the stay was such a treat with so much to see. We felt very relaxed after our stay and would love to return to Val Flores.

I was starting the Camino and decided to stay in Biarritz for the first night. The location of the hotel was brilliant, a short walk to the city centre (10 minutes) and to the beach. The hotel is on the older side but comfortable, clean and enough for one night. The room I stayed in was quite small but had everything I needed for a short stay. The shower was nice and the internet was good. The lady at the reception was very polite and helpful. I would definitely recommend it for a short stay.

Beautiful hotel with excellent location (only 10 minutes walking from the Biarritz beaches). The hostess was very kind to us, we had no issues with our room, it was just perfect for two people. The bathroom was small but very tidy, it worked well for us. Beds were super comfortable! Loved the detail of having a coffee table book about the french Basque Country. Would definitely come back!

Great location, close enough to walk (10 mins) to the town centre and beaches, but set back from the noisier tourist areas. It's an older style hotel but is very comfortable, clean and well appointed. My room was small but had everything needed for a short stay. The shower was excellent and the wifi was reliable and strong. The lady on reception was exceptionally friendly and helpful. If I return to beautiful Biarritz, I'd definitely try and stay in this hotel again. Recommended!

Very good location, close to the centre and beach. Nice neighborhood. Very nice staff, good franch breakfast. Old house with some wear and tear on places, but nice house planing. We had large rooms (family room with two rooms in it), comfortable beds and nice pillows. Thank you for the wonderful stay! Worth the money.

Lady who runs it , brilliant , lovely ,and helpful…it’s more like an English B&B…I stayed one night great location and the parking worth every penny ..Decent b/fst, buffet

I only stayed one night great, so this didn’t bother me…Small room ( was warned when I arrived) but one night who cares.A small bed with strange linen…I slept ..The plumbing sounds as if someone’s being murdered ….lol

Family owned hotel, Very frendly. It was very clean, even if quite basic. Breakfast is good, there’s also a small dehors outside where you can have breakfast

No lift, but the staff was very Kind and carried my luggage to 2nd floor 😊

Spacious room, everything available, rooms were recently renovated, reception was super nice, location was easily accessible from center and in quiet part of town

Not dealbreakers but small things to note: The common areas smelled like cigarattes (but the rooms did not), it's true what they say about the noise isolation from other rooms (but tbh it did not bother us much as the other people kept the noise to a minimum and during respectable hours)

The family room worked for us and it was good to be on the ground floor. Although the walk into town was a little long bus stops are only metres away. It was handy having a suermarket at the corner.

Breakfast was great value. Free parking was great. So close to centre of town, but not in it. Hostess was friendly, warm and welcoming.

Would have preferred a shower curtain over the bath. Water pipes very noisy.
