Beautiful house, property, swimming pool, corridor Furniture are functional but should be improve for that price range Breakfast was sufficient but again can be improve with more local product, more fruits for example The Swimming pool is really beautiful but not accessible as you need to get a very steep and narrow stairs Staff was great except at breakfast the last day when they were cleaning the room and other table doing a lot of noise while we were still eating and the breakfast was supposed to be still open Overall a great stay but a lot of things the owner could improve to make it to the standing they sell

furniture/tableware felt Ikea basic TV is a disgrace there should be smart tv in every room instead of cable tv

Let's begin with the beautiful chateau, delightfully renovated by owners Kathy and Eric set in the quiet village of Palaja approximately five kilometres from Carcassonne. The place is spotless, everything works and the owners are always available with helpful considered advice. Many hotels and Airbnb establishments could do well to try and adopt a similar approach to their customers, cleanliness and maintenance... Chapeau Kathy etc Eric! Our stay was simply wonderful, we really enjoyed in the beautiful garden fantastically perfumed by an abundance of flowers and herbs (see pictures), or relaxing by the pool after our daily excursion sipping a variety of local wines and beers. The breakfast was first class, with local jams, cheeses, charcuterie, eggs etc..and of course delicious buttery croissants and a variety of french breads from local bakeries. The restaurant next door 'S Comme' is well worth a visit, we dined there on our first night which and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our room was well decorated, spacious, clean, everything worked from the heated radiator to the air conditioning, great shower... I really cannot say that about many places. Very importantly the bed was very comfortable!!! We really benefitted from the change of rhythm, which was a total contrast from the chaos and stress of London; by the third day we were so relaxed that we found ourselves dozing at every opportunity!! A great holiday always leaves you wanting more ......we will be back!!!

I honestly can't think of anything negative to say...

Everything. The room was very quiet because of the location of the chateau. We were on the top floor but Catherine kindly carried our luggage up two floors, no lift because it is a chateau. We had the swimming pool to ourselves which was amazing. It is situated in a private walled garden. We enjoyed drinks - excellent and very reasonably priced wine and olives - before dining at the superb restaurant next door where we sat in a beautiful garden. The service was first-class as was the food. This restaurant is not part of the hotel but it is in itself a good reason for staying at the chateau. The romantic walled city of Carcassonne is so close that you can see it. You couldn't find a better place to stop for a night or two, or three, when travelling in France.

After a long journey - overnight ferry from Corsica and long drive - we had very much hoped that our room would be ready early and we had requested this a day or two in advance. We are in our seventies and we were very tired after being on the road since 5.30am so access to our room a few hours early would have been very welcome. We spent the time by the pool so it was fine, but if it had been raining, or there were other people there, it would not have been so great. During our travels through France, Spain and Corsica, we found most places were happy to let us have our room early, or at least let us sit in the lounge. Otherwise everything was perfect and we loved our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel! It’s small and very cozy, with a nice renovation and everything you need in the rooms. The grounds are beautiful, with a lovely garden and pool. The hosts, Emma and Kathi, were incredibly friendly and welcoming – they gave us great advice and were always very kind and helpful.

Hotel owner was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Her recommendations on sightseeing were invaluable. Really lovely grounds and we enjoyed a very civilised aperitif in the garden. Delicious breakfast.

Wifi works fine but you have to log in each time.

We absolutely loved the perfect location, romantic atmosphere and outstanding service... Initially, we stayed for 5 days, but cancelled our next location in favor of this one :-).

Nice and spacious room and bathroom . Very friendly and helpful owners. Excellent breakfast that you can enjoy inside or outside. Good parking and easy access to Carcassonne. Nice swimming pool and good restaurant next door.

Very nice, family run hotel located outside of Carcassonne. Very convenient location to explore the region. The hotel has a big, well maintained garden and an awesome pool. The children and us were sad to leave and we would like to come back sometime.

The hotel was beautifully clean and well kept with lovely gardens to relax in. The restaurant next to the hotel was wonderful. The food was superb and the owner was charming.
