Excellent location between both towns. Very close to a restaurant street. The room had an unexpected bonus... a small kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine (should have been in the list of facilities). Excellent parking onsite. The blackout shutters were excellent for a good night's sleep. The bathroom was quite functional (for a French 200 year old house). The bed was comfortable and the room is a good size. WiFi could be a bit faster but was stable and adequate for our use. The hosts were very friendly and very helpful (Spoke excellent English as well as French and maybe other languages). Period features in the 200 year old mansion. Freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast.

Check in is a bit late in the day and a little inflexible (or maybe it came over that way in translation). The breakfast was a bit light and needed more options (such as eggs other than a single boiled egg or yogurt or cereal, etc).

Thsi is a beautiful period home that was once the home of two German brothers that opened a beer factory directly behind the home in what is now an apartment block. If you are looking for authentic French Charm, with a grand home that feels very private, all located in the center of town yet removed from the bustle of the city then this is the spot you should consider. The Location is excellent just off the main highway equal distance from the medieval and old towns, our hosts were amazing with excellent communication and a ton of pre arrival phots on locations of the home, its facilities and even the car park. Can’t tell you how helpful this information is for travelers. I’m sure you have visited a remote spot or two and just wondered when you get there where am I to park, where is the entrance, or even where is the place. And while GPS has made travel immensely easier it still has its limits. Everyone should send pre arrival photos and this home has done it right. The parking behind the gates was easy to enter and very secure. Our room was period French with many fine details and very large. The bed was comfortable and the bathtub had plenty of hot water and room for 2. ‘Overall an excellent stay with only one regret and that’s we had to leave too soon.

This is an incredible property, a beautiful old house, very tastefully renovated with all the important mod cons (double glazing, instant hot water with great water pressure (ring system), aircon/heating). The owners are a lovely couple, very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is easily located from the main highway and there's a convenient spot in front of the hotel to offload all the bags (and in our case - our dog). Then the car park is just a few metres away, behind a very secure high gate, so once you're inside the property you're in the sanctuary of the house, the garden, the pool and the car park. The house being old (1850's) of course doesnt have a lift, so there's a few stairs to carry the cases, which was fine. The hotel is dog friendly (which we love) and there was plenty of room for her in our room (we put her dog blanket on the ground). Our room had the most awesome view of the walled city, which was breathtaking at sunset. The rooms are lovely and "French" with authentic glassware and crockery. There was even a mini bar and wine (at very reasonable prices). The breakfast was also brilliant, set in the beautifully set up dining room you're served with fresh tea/coffee/bakeries/eggs/cheese & ham, If you come out of the house and turn left (and keep turning left) you're just a few mins walk to the beautiful old streets of Carcassonne. A short walk uphill leads you to the walled village, which is simply gorgeous. Lots of shops, restaurants and things to do (haunted house, rampart walls etc), also very dog friendly area to walk the dog.

As with all our stays in France the tea/coffee facilities were a little lacking but apart from that - totally excellent!

The room was a good decent size with a seating area. Secure car parking on site. Good sized garden to sit in nice weather. A very atmospheric house. Location superb, literally 5 mins walk to lots of restaurants. A 15 min walk to the gates of Carcassonne. Breakfast was very nice, served to your table in the dining room. Continental style but also with cheeses, ham and eggs

The room we had was a little noisy from the road traffic, a garden view room at the back would avoid this. Our room didn't have a fridge, however Marianne let us have the use of a fridge in an unused kitchen of the hotel

An excellent location for exploring both parts of the city. The pool area was a lovely quiet oasis to escape to and relax. The owners were very hospitable proving advice. The house is full of character with different areas to relax in outside. It’s also an added bonus to have parking - we didn’t use our car for the 3 days we were there. The rooms have a small kitchenette with tea, coffee, fridge, hob and oven which we didn’t use with so many restaurants near by but a nice feature to have.

It would have been nice to have one double mattress instead of two singles but otherwise everything was great.

Fabulous old house, just a 10 minute walk to the old city of Carcassonne. Lots of nice restaurants and bars close by on the way. Our loft apartment had an amazing view of the walled city. Check in very straight forward. We were met by the charming Marianne and shown our rooms and gave some great restaurant recommendations. Room very well appointed and comfy beds. Air con was very welcome with the summer heat. The beautiful pool in the garden at the rear was an oasis after a day of sightseeing. Despite being struck by lightning during a brief thunderstorm, the electrics were mostly up and running a few hours later and did not spoil our stay. No wifi for a short while was quite good for our teenagers! Marianne and Stephane were superb hosts.

We were honored to stay in this historic, well furnished home. Every room and view was a visual and interesting delight. Upon our arrival, they accepted our early arrival as we had reservations to tour the Carcassonne castle and ramparts. Stefan was quick to confess that their house had been STRUCK BY LIGHTNING the previous day, which sabotaged their electrical capacity, including the wireless service. The fact they were able to power fans and prepare a beautiful breakfast were remarkable under the circumstances! Our room was outstanding--the bedding and wallcoverings superior and luxurious. We trooughly enjoyed our short stay.

The location was perfectly set between the medieval town and the old town-only a few minutes walk to either. The house, gardens and pool created an oasis of greenery and serenity within the busy town, and with a secure gate and doors, we felt safe. The breakfast served by Mariane each morning on lovely china was delicious and made the perfect start to each day. Our room, #4, had a nice slice of a view of the castle out one window and the other two looked over the pool/garden/carport. The bed and shower were fantastic. The mini kitchen and washing machine in our room were helpful too. I can’t say it enough- it was the perfect spot!!!

Our room was beautiful, the place was lovely, and we had a wonderful two days and even enjoyed the pool while we were there. Marianne was a wonderful host, and shared with us places to visit and restaurants to be enjoyed. She was most welcoming and provided exceptional service with breakfast included. We would go back and enjoy her hospitality again. Great location to visit the Carcassonne - everything was in walking distance. Marianne reached out to us before we arrived to confirm everything.

Honestly, we had the best experience for the start of our trip. We loved everything.

This is a lovely historic property with all the modern conveniences It is within walking distance of the medieval city, Canal du Midi, and other tourist sites. Secure on-site parking is available. There is a garden and swimming pool in the back of the property. The entire hotel is elegantly decorated starting with the foyers, the dining room, and bar. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the linens and towels were very high quality. The owner, Mary Ann, was friendly and helpful with suggestions on restaurants. Breakfast was served on fine china and consisted of local ham, sausage, cheeses, eggs, bread and croissants, juice and coffee. We highly recommend this property.

The car navigation system had trouble finding the hotel. Instructions on how to get to the street and how to access secure parking would be helpful to have beforehand.
