Restaurant and bar very good. The hotel is a converted convent, really interesting. We loved the cloisters. I would book this hotel again because it is in a great position and is a lovely building

The air conditioner didn't work, the next day the engineer could't fix it so we were moved to another room which was a bit of a trial. My friend and I booked a twin room and they offered us a double which was not suitable. We were then offered a suit with an uncomfortable sofa bed. We noticed the king size bed could be split in two to make the room a twin. The reception staff were not allowed to do this because the housekeeping is contracted out to another company. All was ok in the end though. The lighting in the room relies on side lamps, they could do with some brighter central lights. Also the rooms could do with some more plugs.

Secure on-site parking, easy to access. Location in pleasant surroundings, quiet area but easily walkable to old town and centre. Very good breakfast with attentive staff. Everywhere in the hotel was very clean. Recpetion staff welcoming and efficient

No information for visitors in the room or on public display. Recognising that you are staying in an historic building, the lack of air conditioning, particularly in the bar area, is noticeable in hot weather. The standing fan in the bedroom was sufficient as the bedrooms seem to stay cool but the bar area with the glass roof was uncomfortably warm at the beginning of May (it was 26 degrees every day of our stay). Also bar service in the late afternoon and early evening was sketchy.

Really friendly staff, the waitress in charge of breakfast was especially helpful. We were able to ask for boiled eggs, rather than just have the scrambled eggs on offer. Tasty pastries at breakfast. Rooms are spacious. It's really impressive how they've converted the cloisters area. The bar is a nice place to sit in the evening, often with a live pianist. The mini Easter eggs at reception on Easter day were a nice little treat. White company toiletries in bathrooms. Easy location to walk to the old town or the grand place. It's nice to be by the Quay, a good place to sit in the sunshine.

The rooms are very dark - not enough lighting! We found it strange that there weren't mattress protectors under the bottom sheets. The bottom sheets weren't quite big enough to tuck under all the way around the twin bed mattresses so during the night the sheet moved exposing the bare mattress. The scrambled eggs at breakfast were always a little cold!

Bar and restaurant are amazing, under a glass ceiling in the middle of the hotel. Live piano player until late on a Friday, and the excellent almond and pear pie is free when you order a drink! Great range of imaginative non alcoholic cocktails and whiskeys too. Didn't have the breakfast but the selection looked good. Room is massive and well furnished, as is the bathroom - big sink, all marble everywhere! Mattress was very comfortable and all the towels and linen was very crisp and clean. Decent quality shower gel provided that doesn't dry out your skin.

Minor point, but the fittings in the room were a bit tired - loose marble in the bathroom, desk was wobbly. Nothing major though.

This is a unique hotel right in the centre of Lille. As a former convention, the building is beautiful. I booked a superior twin room which was large and comfortable. The beds are comfy and bathroom had a good shower. It was particularly helpful that this Hotel has parking; a rare thing in a city hotel in the historic centre. The breakfast was good and had everything we wanted. Staff were very helpful and some spoke English which was useful as they could give us directions to the places we wanted to see.

Stayed in the executive suit with a family of 4 incl. 2 kids. We've had a pleasant stay. Location was super, few minutes from Zoo, theme park and just around the corner of the historic center. Executive room very spacious and clean. Air-conditioning worked well, it didn't make much noise. Breakfast was very well presented and the staff of breakfast were excellent. And this is the only hotel in city centre where you can park in front of the door, that was really convenient.

The room was clean, but still a few spots were missed unfortunately. Bit of mold in the corners of the shower. Wifi not reliable or consistent. We could have used more power sockets (had 8 devices but just 1 socket). Our messages to the hotel via booking.com weren't replied.

The breakfast was very nice. It is worth paying for it and adding it to your room. They have a wonderful coffee maker that makes espresso, cappuccinos, etc. The facility is pretty, but the rooms are tired. The guest rooms and bathrooms need updating. The location is walking distance from the main Lille square and historic areas. It is just a little out of the way.

As I mentioned, the guest rooms and particularly the bathrooms need some updating. There is a very deep bathtub on a platform that you need to step over and into/out of to take a shower or bath. The bath towels were frayed. The bathroom finishes were deteriorating.

Could have done with more lighting in our room. Lamps fine but it was a large room with no overall light. On the other hand bathroom very well lit

It’s in a good open location by the canal and just a short walk round the corner into the old town. The original Flemish style brickwork on the exterior and around the courtyard.

The property has lost a lot of its character in the renovations being replaced by 1990s bland. There are details that could be improved - nothing major but compared to some other 4 star hotels it looked a bit worn around the edges in places: the seals of the shower screen in the bathroom; marks on carpets; in the bedroom a window handle was missing and the window couldn’t be opened; the “fresh” cut fruit at breakfast looked not so fresh

Loved the historic building and high quality bed linen, towels & toiletries. Location was ideal and having on site parking was a real bonus, though expensive.

The staff bar and breakfast could have been a little friendlier towards us. The glass atrium was so hot, couldn’t really relax and have a drink, but weather was very hot. Bet it’s great the rest of the year. Parking was £21 per day.
