Very friendly staff and price/quality-wise it's great. Location is super: Almost in the centre, next to the trainstation, supermarket across the street, and with an abundance of restaurants and bars in the vicinity. The room and bathroom were small but for a stay of only a few days this was not a problem. Noise was not a problem either, but I can imagine that the room gets hot in summer with the windows closed (to keep the noise out). Breakfast was OK. The antique elevator was an attraction on itself as it was suitable for only 2 people with a total maximum weight of 150 kg :-). All in all we had a great stay and would reccomend this hotel.

Chose this hotel for its proximity to the railway station and Lille Town centre. The room on the 6th floor was small and minimalist but suited our needs for 2 nights. Recently refurbished and clean. No air-con, but a fan was provided. No kettle, but there is a coffee machine in the breakfast room on the first floor, which we made use of. The breakfast was good enough and plentiful...bread rolls, pastries, cheese, jam, cereal, yoghurt, fruit. Also, coffee machine with various options and different teas. Bottles of water also freely available just inside the main entrance door. The QR code entry is a great idea... Once you get the hang of it. Hold your phone back far enough for all 9 codes to scan at once. The antique lift is a novelty and very small! The staff we encountered were friendly and happy to help.

2 minutes from the Flanders Train Station, very close to The City Center, it was a good choice for our 2 days visit in Lille. Reception Girl was super nice and helpfull with all the info we asked. She stored our luggage, as ge got therebefore checkin time and got them to our room. Room was clean, recently renovated (5th floor), with nice View and had the basics for a 2* Hotel - Heating, hairdrier, bosysoap, TV, even a little desk with a chair and a small closet. Bed was very comfortable with nice new linen. Very fast internet also. Didn't try the breakfast which was 8€ per person. I would definately stay again for a short stay in the area.

The room we had was very small. A big guy with more than 2 suitcases open on the floor would have a hard time moving arround, also maybe in the toilette/shower. I beleive there are other bigger rooms, so ask on your reservation. I didn't mind that much

Very nice breakfast! Croissant, pain au chocolat, brioche, fresh baguette, cereales, small fridge with yoghurt, milk, butter, juices and a great coffee machine! Nice and clean room with a view to the station and the city. Although I was afraid of the noise at night, it was surprisingly calm. QR code easy to use.

Room very small even that I booked the comfort room. I missed the soap to wash my hands. Elevator is very small but its an old building so not the hotel's fault;) Employees are very kind and helpful but a bit reserved.

It's near the Gare which made it super easy to find. We explored around and saw a lot. It was within walking distance, we bought a Tram pass but didn't even use it. The mattress itself was more comfortable than others I've experienced. We were at the top and their super old school looking elevator works well. And the view was great. We showed up a bit early, but they had the room ready and let us in anyway! They were lovely. It was hot at night but the fan was great.

Can't think of anything I didn't like.

The location was superb next to train station and metro, the staffs were fantastic, friendly and helpfull and the room was clean and nice view also very good soundproofed on the window because we couldn’t hear any road noise at all.

The room was too warm and too hot at night , we couldn’t open the windows because of mosquitoes came inside the room and we got easily infected by mosquitoes bites. We had a small fan in the room but a little bit noisy. The toilet seat was not secured properly so it was slightly loose. The lamp on the room was not secured too and hang loosely on the ceiling but everything else were perfect 👍👌

Great location! Exactly across the street from train station and 5min walking distance from International train station! Shops near by and everything you need! Comfortable, small room. It was very warm, had small table/ closet and comfortable bed.

It was a bit confusing about getting in, as it is done only by QR codes and internet. Outside door opening didn't work for us, but we were lucky that other people at that time also went inside. Maybe need to think about some staff being there or being reachable at any time to be able to get inside the hotel.

No street or guest noise. Room was very small but very clean. Comfy, large bed and enough wardrobe space for a weekend away. Great location and friendly, helpful staff. Key system worked perfectly - first time using a QR code and we were a bit unsure how well it would work but didn't have a single problem with it. Screenshot of the QR works fine, too. Bottles of free water in the hall. Plugs on either side of the bed so we could both charge our phones .We both got in the tiny lift with 2 rucksacks. Was a squeeze but manageable.

Loo and shower room are tiny, but always had hot water available. Would have liked tea/coffee facilities but prefer a low price so that was to be expected.

The lovely French windows (which gave great views of the typical Lille street the hotel is based on) from the top floor room we were assigned. The fact that the property rewards sustainability (if you stay for two or more nights and forego having your sheets & towels changed you get a free 500 ml water bottle). The staff all spoke very good English. The bed mattress was comfortable and the noise from other rooms or the outside world is minimal. The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect - you can reach the old town by foot very easily and anything further afield means you can use the metro which is literally at your doorstep! Just superb hotel altogether!

The location is terrific, especially if you are arriving/departing by train. It's a short walk to all the main areas of Lille, and food options are plentiful. I thought Hotel Ambassadeur was a great deal.

It's not really a dislike; it's just something to be aware of. The hotel is located in a busy part of the city, so noise is a factor. If you're sensitive, bring earplugs or stay somewhere else.
