Fantastic value for money, great location, lovely staff. The room was big with a small balcony and nicely decorated. Bed was really comfortable. Overall, hotel and area felt very safe for solo female traveller.

The shower head is propped on the taps, there is no holder that can be reached by most people and it’s very tricky to open a sachet of shower gel while holding the shower head without getting water everywhere. Would be great to have a shower head holder as well as a small shelf to put shampoo etc in the shower.

The view of the street from the room was great for people watching. The bed was extremely comfortable and clean feeling. The shower was absolutely fantastic with great pressure variability and a handy wand. The bathroom also felt extremely clean. Finally of course the location was absolutely exceptional being in the very heart of the tourist area, but it wasn't too noisy from the street surprisingly. I would highly recommend this hotel especially for the price. (The photos are from the end of my stay so it's a little messy, but it was perfect when I arrived!)

The room is small, but clean. The hotel it’s near central station. It’s safe to go for a walking up to city center (7-10 minutes). I was able to extend my check-out until 13:00 wich was a great. I gave them a 10 because the staff was very helpful, kind and friendly (I was facing a serious problem in the middle of the night, because booking did a terrible mistake, when I first came, and they were open to solving it, making me feel safe and calm)….that’s the most important ability when you are working with clients…so for the way they handled it …Chapeau and 🙏👏 Thank you for making my first trip comfortable!

The location of the accommodation is excellent—it’s just a 2-minute walk from the train station and very close to the tram stop, making it easy to reach the seaside either by tram or on foot if you prefer. Despite staying in the middle of July, the room was pleasantly cool and never felt too hot. Most days, complimentary croissants and chilled water were also available, which was a nice touch.

Before our arrival, I tried contacting the hotel several times but never received a response. Upon check-in, the staff member assisting us wasn’t very friendly and provided little information, which gave a poor first impression. That said, other reception staff we encountered later were much more welcoming. Occasionally, we could hear footsteps and noise from people walking in the hallway, though it wasn’t frequent enough to be a major issue.

The location is super central. SNCF station is right across the lane, few metres to the left, the tramline is few steps away on the right and the huge Monotrix right in front. Beach is 300-400 metres away, easily walkable.

The check-in was super strict. Reception Staff on my check-in date enjoyed being super strict about check-in timing. In hospitality sector some flexibility are always appreciated at the convenience of both hosts-customers. But reception staff at Hotel de Berne enjoyed being tough, that’s tough on the customers. We arrived at noon and check in was at 2:30pm and I’m sure room must be ready by then, bcos they’re very strict about check-out timing too, but “not earlier than 2:30pm” was his byword to every customer who arrived round about the same time as us.

The location of the hotel was the highlight of the stay. The tram is a few steps on the right, a mall and grocery in-front and restaurants around, and Nice Ville is a few walk to the left which is so convenient in my everyday transfers. I honestly didn’t expect much about the room coz my purpose was just a place to sleep coz I’ll be out most of the days. But it was decent, clean, functional AC, kettle and hair dryer. I like the lighting and lots of mirrors in the room. The staff was helpful and early& late check outs are cheaper compared to other hotels.

I just felt unsafe when I came back in my room and found my door open. Im sure I locked it. Good thing nothing was lost. Just wonder if 1 key opens all doors? Or was mistakenly opened by guests. Otherwise, i like my stay. Would stay again in my next solo travel to the south of france.

The bed was very comfortable. We appreciate the nice air conditioning unit, the safe, frigerator and hot water in the shower. Exceptional location with a market and tram right across the street. Restaurants were all in walking distance as well as the beach. Chargo at the desk was an added plus. He attended to our needs and was able to answer any concerns and questions in English with kindness. He's a keeper. He was the topping on the cake. Thank you Chargo!

The lighting in the hallways were dim and could have been brighter.

Excellent value for money, especially in Nice. The hotel is very well located, close to the train station, tram stop, the center and the beach are easily accessible on foot. Opposite there is a grocery store that meets all your needs, which is open for a long time and you can shop at a good price. The accommodation is small but tidy, the room and bathroom are clean, thoroughly cleaned every day. The breakfast is fresh croissants, juice and coffee, so for the price it is a perfect start to the day. The guys at the reception are very nice and helpful. We had a good time, we will book accommodation here again next time. :-)

The 50 euro deposit was blocked in my account for a whole month. This is not the hotel's fault, they released the block on the day of departure. The Hungarian banking system works slowly - expect this if you book a room with an OTP Bank account.

The location is probably central but this depends on where you will be spending your time! Either way it is not far from anywhere really and very easy to get to. Check in was smooth, a €50 deposit was taken when I made the booking and returned within a few hours of checking out. We didn't go for the breakfast option, there are plenty of cafes or boulangeries in the area if you decide not to. The room was better than expected simply because of the lower review score but I'm happy to say I was pleasantly surprised! Very comfortable bed and lovely soft towels, everything seemed very clean (except one of the water glasses!). They even give you some tea and coffee with a kettle in the room. The bathroom is small, however the shower has good pressure and hot water. Across the road from the hotel is the train station and there was some music coming from either there or somewhere in the evenings which you could hear in the room however after a busy day exploring it didn't keep me up for a second. Would stay again!

The location is amazing — honestly, just perfect! Super close to the sea and also near the train station, so no time wasted on getting around. Soundproofing is average — with windows closed it’s quiet, open them and of course, you’ll hear the street a bit. The room had AC and a hairdryer, which was great. Bedding and towels were all clean, and there was coffee and tea available too, which was a nice touch. The only thing missing was slippers — if those were included, it would’ve been absolutely perfect. Thank you! We’ll definitely be back!
