I staid for a rather long time, which is sufficient to judge the hotel, whether the cleaning is done sporadically, the noise levels, overall level of comfort. The room was very clean, and by that i mean - squeaky clean. In Paris it is quite a bit of a hit and miss, so this was definitely good. The bed was comfortable as well. These two things combined are probably the most important aspects.

The room was very small and a bit awkward to get in (the built-in wardrobe is sharing space with the door. It is fine for a short stay, but for prolonged stays it can get a bit annoying. I staid 3 weeks. The hotel is often booked for large tourist groups, including teenagers, so you can guess how wild the noise levels can be at those nights.

Just returned from a delightful 5-night stay at Villa Montparnasse and couldn't be happier with my choice. The hotel's location proved to be absolutely perfect for exploring Paris, with the Denfert-Rochereau metro station literally a 3-minute walk away. This was especially convenient as it connects directly to the RER B line that goes straight to Charles de Gaulle Airport (took us about 35 minutes door-to-door when departing). What truly made this hotel special was the charming neighborhood. The Rue Daguerre, a vibrant pedestrian street just around the corner, became our go-to spot for meals. This lively market street is lined with bakeries, cheese shops, wine merchants, and intimate bistros where we enjoyed some of our best meals in Paris. Although here I have to highlight particularly the little boulangerie at the Metro entrance, which quickly became part of our morning routine. Our room on the 2nd floor was clean, and although petite (typical for Paris), very well-designed and comfortable. The highlight was definitely opening the curtains each morning to reveal a picture-perfect view of a stunning art nouveau building directly across the street. The ornate balconies, decorative ironwork, and classic Parisian architectural details made even a quick glance out the window feel magical. At sunset, the golden light reflecting off the building's facade created a breathtaking scene I found myself photographing repeatedly. For travelers looking to experience authentic Paris away from the tourist crowds while maintaining easy access to all the major attractions, Villa Montparnasse offers the perfect balance. The staff were consistently helpful and spoke excellent English. I'll definitely return on my next Paris adventure.

The location is absolutely fantastic, easily reachable by metro lines 4 and 6. The airport bus used to stop right there, but unfortunately, that is no longer the case. However, the metro replacement bus, when line M14 is not in service, still stops there. The street is nice and quiet, with plenty of fantastic restaurants nearby. The Montparnasse Cemetery is just a few minutes away, where I was able to visit the graves of Poincaré and Alekhine. The staff is incredibly friendly—so much so that it’s almost hard to believe. The bed is comfortable; I usually have trouble sleeping in a new place, but here I had no problem at all. The bathroom looked great and was stocked with good shampoo, body wash, and lotion.

I stayed there in two separate visits, as Paris was not my final destination. During the first stay, I couldn’t manage to turn on the lamp in the toilet without also turning on the main light in the room. Maybe I didn’t try hard enough, but it was a bit bothersome. The staff offered to change our room, but we declined since it was only a short stay.

Great location, felt like a safe area, bed was comfortable and enjoyed the choice in the breakfast

On checking in I was asked to give them a card so they could put through a 50 euro sale in case I decided to use the mini bar. I felt this was unnecessary and explained I wouldn't be using the mini bar anyway. I'm addition, I was staying there at the end of my trip and using a card I had put money in to pay in euros. If I allowed them to do this I would have no money for meals for my last day there. This seemed a very old fashioned practice based on the minority of people who might take advantage, but I feel most people are more honest and maybe they should review their policy or have a mini bar that you would need to scan your card to use. After a bit of discussion I was eventually given permission for them not to put through a sale on my card for the 50 euros.

Amazing Hotel, Staff & Location I have just returned from my trip to Paris, staying at the Villa Montparnasse Hotel (June 2024). The hotel itself has a classic and interesting style. I had asked for a city view room in my booking and the staff went out of their way to give me what I wanted. It actually had a double aspect view and was even more spectacular than I had expected – simply fabulous! The whole atmosphere during my stay was very comfortable and all staff without exception (manager, reception, breakfast and cleaning), were welcoming, friendly and ensured I had everything I needed. In addition, the hotel is in a strategic location for metro and airport connections via Denfert-Rochereau, which is very near the hotel. There are also useful shops and restaurant / cafes in the area. I highly recommend this hotel, it was all amazing value for money and I will definitely go back on my next trip. In fact, I am planning it already!

Everything was great!

We could see the Eiffel Tower from balcony at night. Area very typical French without lots of tourists. Two mins walk was a produce market street with small supermarkets, cafes and resturants and the oldest chocolate shop in Paris (1761). Convienient 5 min walk to metro and RER main line to airport. Could buy tickets at both places. Very kind staff. Small fridge in our room. Loved old style decor.

Would like a kettle in the room as I drink tea. There was a coffee maker however.

The location is good, very near the RER station (5-minute walk). The old style of the hotel and room is original. The surroundings are beautiful and convenient with a lot of shops and restaurants. You can find anything you need within walking distance. In addition, the train station is 10 minute walk away, very convenient for travelling to other provinces.

My room is a bit small but it is not a big deal as we only stay 1 night to catch the early train to Lourdes.

Amazing balcony view, staff and area !! Good value for money especially where we were. Bed was really comfortable and clean and the room was lovely all in all. VERY glad we had a good fan as it was boiling while we stayed.

Carpet and some shelves were quite dirty Most things were clean but also the walls had a stain maybe damp or nicotine but no smell at all. Bath was also a bit worn down but that wasn't an issue for us.

Friendly, informative, and accommodating staff. We enjoyed our superior room with a city view and balcony.

We liked the traditional decor in our room (that’s one of the reasons we chose Villa Montparnasse - we wanted to the room to feel Parisian, not like a generic hotel room anywhere in the world), but the fixtures could use an upgrade. The bathtub looked a little beat up, was high off the ground, and could be hard for an older or injured person to get in and out of.

If you are looking for something simple, easy and accessible this is the place for you (especially if you’re a solo traveler)! The hotel and rooms are definitely way older but I think this is what made it so charming. There are a lot of comments saying they needed more in the breakfast but I thought it was good especially to getting your day started. Neighborhood was quiet, charming and close to all - and walking distant to restaurants. Cherienne (I hope I’m spelling her name correctly) was an absolute angel - so personable and available to requests. Would definitely stay here again!
