The location was superb, right next to the cathedral; it's why we chose it. The breakfast was also very good at 12 Euros. There is a fantastic sound and light show every night projected onto the cathedral. Well worth seeing.

The rooms were a little small and there is nothing except reception, the breakfast room and your room, but there are loads of good bars and restaurants nearby. Whilst we liked the location, they should remind visitors that the sound and light show every night starts at about 10:30 and does not finish until about 11:30. So not one for early to bed folk in the summer - we went there not long after the longest day. I suspect it will start and finish earlier in autumn/winter.

Very accessible to sites, restaurants and markets. Easily walkable. Comfortable modern beds/bathrooms. Amazing view of Cathedral. Breakfast available. Accommodating- we were able to have rooms next to each other so family was close.

Seating areas in the room were a little tired. Elevator worked well but was very small. It was a very tight fit for a walker/rollator and 1 person.

Location was perfect next to cathedral and it was over looking the Christmas market. Close walk to the gros horloge. The morning breakfast was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable and the view from our room was lovely. We could even walk out on a deck to be outside.

The only hiccup was arriving and not having someone there to greet us (down season) but there was a message on the door to call- but it was in French and if your phone doesn’t work and you don’t know what it says… we had to go next door to ask for help. But in that was worked out- the host was kind and directed us to food and what to do.

The lady on reception was lovely, very friendly and helpful , also helping us to find a place to park our car. Our room had the most amazing view of Rouen cathedral which was so incredible ! The proprietor of the hotel had been very helpful in giving us a cathedral view room with a balcony, which helped to make our holiday very special and memorable . The breakfast was lovely and the breakfast room was really pretty and homely . I would definitely stay here again , excellent location and unbeatable view. Very clean room and really comfortable bed.

Only the size of the room and air con but I would still choose this hotel again . But the wonderful view of the cathedral from the balcony far outweighed the size of the room. And the breakfast was very enjoyable. Thank you

Great location. Be warned that you cannot drive to the hotel as it sits in an area off the main streets. Best to find parking in the area and then walk. We used underground parking and the walk was about 8 minutes from car to hotel.

Room did not have the following: refrigerator, ability to make morning coffee, any type of fan or air circulation. To keep the room cool we had to keep windows open and this resulted in outside noise, especially in the morning when trash trucks came through the area.

Hotel Le Cardinal was a wonderful place to stay in Rouen. We loved waking up each morning to look out our window directly across to this magnificent cathedral! It was centrally located in the historic area to all the sites we wanted to see. The room and bath were very comfortable and the staff available as needed. We did not take the optional breakfast, but instead went just a block over to Les Delices de la Cathedrale, probably the best bakery we found in France, and had breakfast there for just over half the price. I definitely recommend Hotel Le Cardinal to anyone coming to Rouen.

Everything was great.

Breakfast was adequate. Good selection of juices, fruits, breads, croissants (of course!) and cheese. Everything fresh and nice. Excellent brasserie, patisserie, and shops nearby and of course the cathedral. My balcony overlooked the square, cathedral bells pealed out at noon. The Christmas festival was in progress, so it was magical.

Can't think of anything that could have been better. American visitors might expect larger rooms but the location was as good as it gets.

Hotel Cardinal is right in the center of the historic district in Rouen. It is very clean and for the price it was a very good room. Of course, since it is in the historic center there is no parking so you have to find parking elsewhere. Still a good value for the money

No if, ands or buts, this hotel is worth the trip, view of the Cathedral was breathtaking; loved the windows that opened up into the Cathedral court yard; restaurant next door to hotel served delicious food, supplied breakfast in the hotel was convenient and splendid;

There is no walk in shower so stepping into the tall tub as a small challenge; otherwise shower was invigorating; parking is not on site so metered public parking in the area forced you to walk a few blocks from hotel;

The breakfast was just fine, a variety of choices arranged buffet-style. It's a convenience if you're looking to launch into the day and see Rouen. It's also a treat if you enjoy croissants, yogurt ...

I am at a loss as to what could have been better. The view from this hotel is spectacular. It's location is incredibly convenient for seeing Rouen on foot.
