Absolute Prime location,nice rooms and nice breakfast

To change towel everyday is absolutely not necassarly at all! There was no sign to hang out and they changed every single day, so unsustainable! Also, we had a late check in and the instructions we received with the key were only written in French, kind of weird for a hotel? Staff could also improve their english a lot.

It was very well located, walking distance to pretty much every point of interest for a tourist, and right around the corner to a supermarket and a laundromat. The bus lines that run right by the hotel came in extremely handy too, because a couple of them reach the train station. The staff were very kind and helpful. I'd recommend the buffet style breakfast they offer if you usually have big breakfasts, the variety and quality of the options was great. The room itself had everything we needed, the bed was comfortable and the shower worked well.

The room felt a bit crammed and outdated, but that was not really a problem for us because we didn't spend much time at the hotel anyway.

Well, my review will be a mix of "evaluations" as we rented 3 rooms, so, we experienced different things. We got two single bedrooms and 1 double bedroom. Overall, the location is unbeatable! it is walkable to all over the town, the neighborhood is beautiful and safe! at nights it looks like a scary movie LOL (as all around is very old -you can see it and feel it- ). The hotel is a very old building, with a beautiful interior garden, the lift is located just crossing it and you have to hold your things three-four steps. The desk attention was wounderful. Single bedrooms review: Both rooms were located with view to the internal garden (which is beautiful!), so, those bedrooms were quiet at night and were more modern (for sure an upgrade has been done in the last years), the bathrooms had enough space and one had shower and the other bath/shower. Double bedroom review: This room was so big, plenty space.

First, we totally understand that we were staying at an old building. The situation here is that the pictures you see (now that I do my analysis) are for maybe few bedrooms that has been refurbished, honestly my bedroom (the double) was UGLY! ugly! the bathroom was very old and for me, it is not the situation of the building (as I mentioned, is an old building), the thing is that the pictures you see are not the status of all the bedrooms, some had been refurbished and others not. The location of the double bedroom was in the main road (Rue Saint Romain) that was little noisy.

Very friendly staff at reception. One detail I really liked was that in the downstairs WC there was a normal towel for guests to dry their hands with - you don't get that very often anymore! Lovely building, great location.

Every time we came back to the rooms we had to log back into the wifi accounts which was a bit annoying but didn't matter too much. I wasn't keen on some of the decorations in the hotel and paintings - the property is amazing, so old and in such a great location, and then the decor is in some places quite tacky, such as plastic film on window to make it look like stained glass or plastic plants. Our family rooms were not very nicely decorated but that's often the case with family rooms.

Reception area was attractive, and professional. The courtyard beyond was beautiful, a haven of tranquillity on hot days. Our room was characterful and more than adequate for a short tourist stay. Location could not be bettered, very close to the main attractions of the medieval city.

The bathroom was small and in great need of updating (we appreciated daily replacement of towels, however). Our room was not quiet (as we had requested), being above a major pedestrian passage, used well into the small hours. Staff were generally offhand. Buffet breakfast, though well-catered, was expensive.

Our rooms were next to each other, (as requested) at the end of the corridor. Perfect for our family. The location was amazing! We could walk to everything in minutes… historic buildings, Cathedral, shopping, bakeries…etc. Parking is not a problem, use the underground Cathedral parking a short walk away. We left our luggage in the car overnight and had no issues. €16 for 12-24hrs. Lady on the desk was friendly when she could see we made efforts to speak French despite her excellent English.

The rooms are very basic. There needs some attention to Maintenance. One window wouldn’t open, kettle didn’t work, some light bulbs not working or missing.

The location literally right next to side of the cathedral can’t be beaten. The hotel has the nice character of a historical building. I was happy that my room was in the oldest part looking out to the cathedral and the beautiful narrow street below. The breakfast and courtyard is great (look out for the cute resident cat!) and staff helpful and friendly.

The shower was fine, clean and quite big, but that room was a bit smelly, probably due to old plumbing. Note no lift (in the older part of the building at least).

The hotel was in a great location, right beside a catherdral, just a couple of minutes walk into the centre where there was plenty of bars and restuarants. The breakfast was continental breakfast which was fine for us, the only problem was there wasn't a machine with hot water, water was kept warm on a hot plate which mean't that the water wasn't very hot, but we had a kettle in our room so we had tea and coffee in there.

I don't think they need to improve anything at the hotel, it's lovely that it's kept as an old rustic hotel that looks old just like it's surroundings outside the hotel. Our shower could have been updated because it had a curtain around it , but again we weren't bothered that it wasn't made of glass, and a modern walk in shower.

Perfect location right in the centre of the old part of the city. We stayed as a family on the 3rd floor and had a queen sized bed and double bunk. Our Room was fine for a one night stay like ours, however could be a little tight if travelling with a family for an extended period. Building is from the 16th century and the room had an old charm vibe which we enjoyed, so don’t expect modern facilities but dont let that put you off. The beds were very comfortable, water was hot, room was warm and we enjoyed our stay. Restaurants and supermarkets within a very short walk and surrounded by interesting gothic and medieval architecture. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Very hard to find parking nearby. The city car park within a 5-10 walk was quite expensive but certainly not the fault of the hotel given the age of the building and location

This hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the centre of Rouen. It's close to the cathedral, restaurant and bars, and also the main shopping area. Although the room was quite small it was very quiet and had everything that we needed for our overnight stay. The decor my be a little dated but we felt that it only added to its charm. Breakfast was outstandingly good with a great selection of items to choose from. We'd definitely stay here again.
